Chapter 109: Anticipation For Power.
"Wow," he exclaimed. "I didn't expect that."
Astro chuckled as it said, "It is understandable. There are other items that we can't deal with, such as humans who have been a part of an expedition to the foreign battlefield. We have to navigate a lot of policies in order to bring you the best service."
He nodded. "Alright. I guess you learn something new everyday. That aside, let me get what I want. Let's finish the transaction."
Astro also seemed eager to complete the trade. It said, "Certainly, honored guest. I hope you will be satisfied with what you have acquired."

"I hope so too," Kelvin said in return.
But the bot didn't go through the transaction yet. Instead, it asked him, "Would you like to see your selection up close before making the transaction?"
He waved away the offer. "No, I don't. I am in a hurry here."
He doesn't care about how they look. He just wants to be done with the heartbreaking expense as soon as possible and be on his way. He needs that pleasant empowerment of stealing destinies to make himself feel good about his purchase as soon as possible.
Astro displayed a smiley face on his black digital face as it said, "As you wish."
The bot tallied everything he wanted and made a token for the payment request of the sum of 35 million dollars. Kelvin used the digital number of the token to pay for the request through his terminal.
Just like that, he lost 27.6% of the wealth he had accumulated in seven months in just 10 minutes. If he had more game points, he would surely lose more than that.
It was a heavy expenditure that left him full of anticipation for the usefulness of the product. So he followed Astro around the mall to pick up what he had purchased.
He saw the different types of goods along the way. They were frozen and showed in displays on each floor of the malls. Others were looking at them up close to decide if they wanted them. But some people like him only came to collect their properties after paying for them.
Astro asked him, "Would you like for us to unseal them for you, honored guest?"
He shook his head. "Just pack them up. I'll do the unsealing myself."
He preferred his products to be unconscious for what he wants to do with them, so he insisted that they not be unsealed. The three of them were placed in large metallic boxes that looked like coffins. Then he dragged them out of the mall.
He returned to the non-descript house in the wild that he had entered through. Then he lifted the three boxes and went in search of somewhere to do his sordid deed.
The three boxes were heavy, but he didn't mind the weight. His total power rating and Juggernaut's Armament meant he had enough strength to spare. He could even still run.
Along the way, Wrath decided to tell him what she had noticed about Astro after examining it for so long.
She said, "That robot is a person."
He asked, "Do you mean it is being controlled by someone? What does that matter?"
She replied, "I meant what I said. I sensed a soul in the robot, so it is a person."
He shrugged and found an explanation: "It could be an ability that helps them turn into robots."
She said, "It could be. But that would truly be impressive because there were souls in the other robots too, and I sensed that they were the same soul. A weak soul can't do that. Either it was a product of an Omega ability or the person is a demigod."
Kelvin almost stumbled when he heard the last part. He shook his head and said, "It is probably just a powerful person with an Omega ability."
"Hmmm. It could be. But if it was a demigod, it would be easy for them to set up a teleportation system."
Kelvin asked, "But why would a demigod sell slaves?" They shouldn't lack the money."
"It could be a hobby. But you are probably right. I didn't sense a divine spark or any divinity from them. So they probably aren't demigods."
Kelvin sighed in relief as he continued to run. Then he thought of something and asked, "Do you think I would be able to steal their ability from the bot?"
She replied, "You could, as the bot should be a part of them. But they will resist by trying to kill you. Even if you succeed, you will gain a lot of trouble if you don't kill them. People will become aware of your power, and a hunt for you will begin. You will be like the highly coveted Earth Escape man. Many will want to recruit you or kill you."
He chuckled. "Yeah. I don't want that."
The two of them reverted to silence after that.
He found another city and went into the basement of a house. Then he dropped the three boxes on the ground.
The boxes were opened one after the other to reveal their contents. Inside of each of them was someone encased in ice sleeping.
He put the password into the keypad by the side of the boxes. This began the unsealing process. The ice began to evaporate rapidly. It formed a stream of white steam that rose out of the boxes.
He didn't wait for them to be unsealed before he began stealing their destinies. The man with the mind communication was the first to surfer under the touch of his hand.
He had to unlock his third slot for him to use the ability. The mind communication ability was a mental ability, so it couldn't fuse with his previous two slots. This cost him 40 game points.
The second one that lost their destiny was the woman with the mental defense ability. This ability fused with the third slot to create a hybrid ability called the Mental Network ability.
