DESTINY GAMES

Chapter 137: League Bonus.

He gained a whooping 336 new fans compared to the 321 he had before the game. 336 is just about 3% of the ten thousand that watched the game. It isn't much, but it is significant to him.

To top it off, he gained the league bonus after advancing to the professional league. This league bonus doubles his temporary destiny. That means he will gain twice as much power from each fan than before.

The league bonus will increase once he advances to the leagues beyond the professional league. In the expert league, he will gain another league bonus that will increase the value of each fan to three.

Then there is the master league, the legend league, and finally the champions league. The increase in league bonuses will make it easier for someone in a higher league to be stronger than those in lower leagues.

His situation is a direct example. Without the league bonus, he should barely reach the D-rank. But with the League bonus, he is already 20% along the way in the D-rank.

He said with admiration, "All of these, and I didn't use all I had."

He was happy, as he distributed his new fan count account to his previous ratio of 3:2:1 to the groups of (Strength + Speed + Constitution), (Endurance + Vitality), and (Mind). Then he gave his constitution 50% for the group and his endurance 66% for the group.

The sight of his new stats gave him pride. After all, a single attribute of his has more power in it than the total of an E-rank Super. He now has health and stamina in the hundred thousand. It is a far cry from the 100 he started with when he just awakened.

With his new stats, he wouldn't be afraid of being surrounded by a group of D-rank idiots. He would be able to fight them for hours and would not be afraid of them.

With these stats, he would be able to outlast Zain if he fought him again. Also, the two of them would be evenly matched in terms of power. It just won't be him taking a beating anymore.

He was impressed with himself. But then he frowned when he thought about what he could have achieved if he had gone all out in the game. Find more chapters on empire

His performance in the game was more than satisfactory. In fact, it was exemplary. But he was too cautious. He was always holding back and second-guessing himself.

The more he thought about it, the more he saw how problematic it would be. Apart from the waste of his potential is the fact that his main ability, shape-shifting, can't grow no matter how many game points he gets.

He has already been locked out of the ability development system of the tower of destiny, and his second ability can't enhance his first ability. That means as long as he pretends to only have the shape-shifting ability, he will always be stuck with an ability that doesn't grow.

Sure, he can use his other abilities secretly. But that will bring indecision that could be dangerous in a fight. There is also the fact that his secret will not remain hidden forever.

The trap that his enemies laid for him today exposed another major flaw he possesses. While the trap was fake, he knows and expects that one day it will be real.

There are people who can identify the abilities of others at a glance. He knows that and even has the opportunity to acquire it. So it is reasonable to expect that one day he will be unfortunate enough to participate in a game with a competitor that can identify him. That day would be the day that his possession of two or more abilities would be exposed.

He thought to himself with determination, "I have to prepare for that. Fortunately, I am not out of options."

He actually has a lot of options on how to hide his ability. The cheapest option is to trust Wrath. He is not going to do that.

The most expensive option is to get a slave with an ability that hides his abilities. It will take up his fourth slot, will probably cost him 80 game points, and won't increase his power at all. It is an expensive option, but it is reliable and will always be his.

Having made up his mind, he relaxed a bit. But he was still in a dilemma about how to solve the first problem he has. In fact, solving the second problem has only made the first problem more difficult because the solutions for the two problems are contradictory.

To hide his abilities is to cripple his potential. After all, he can't be trying to hide his extra abilities and be using them in front of everyone. That's just asking for trouble.

But it is trouble that he will eventually encounter, because just like today, his shape-shifting ability won't be able to solve all his problems. He will encounter someone one day who requires him to use his Mental Domination Network to subdue or his forcefield to defend himself.

The questions rang in his head as he thought about it. "What if I encounter a super with fire ability? Or poison? Or a powerful weapon ability? What will I do then to win?"

He knows the answer to that question. He is willing to do anything to win. But the slight indecision might lead to his loss.

But even if he never encounters a situation that requires him to expose his ability, successfully hiding his shape-shifting ability is just a stopgap, as when people realize that he is hiding his ability somehow, they will either guess that he has another ability or use the fact that he hides his ability to identify him.

So he will eventually become the suspicious guy who doesn't want his ability to be scrutinized again.

He sighed just thinking about it. "Do I cripple myself thoroughly or do I go all out?"
