Chapter 320: Nostalgic.
The sun rose and the whole palace area turned upside down when they heard about the most gruesome and inhuman criminals coming into the main palace. They were afraid knowing those criminals were the Five Sinners from the Isola Key Island, the notorious and feared criminals of all.
Elestria walked out of the main palace with Elysande and Melissa. They were in disbelief when they saw those five, but Elestria and Elysande were more surprised when they saw Victoria among them.
"Victoria..." Elysande frowned and she looked so worried and sad.
Elysande and Victoria were the same age, and they were close since they were in the academy together until they graduated. Unfortunately, Victoria didn't like the fact that Elestria became the Queen of Faelethria.
She knew Elestria more than anyone and knew the true nature of Elestria and that was when she tried to assassinate and dethrone Elestria but failed. That was why she was sent to Isola Key Island to die and her whole family got their titles stripped.
"How long has it been, Queen Elysande?" Victoria asked and mocked Elestria in front of her loyal people.
Elysande sighed and looked disappointed when Victoria hadn't changed a bit and didn't learn her lesson. She didn't want to answer Victoria's question because if she answered, she acknowledged herself as the Queen of Faelethria which counted as treason.
Elestria wasn't in the mood to deal with someone like Victoria, but she knew that Victoria preferred to die than serve her. Knowing that, Elestria thought it would be more fun to subdue Victoria and make her fear come true.
"You were sent to the island to die, but you resisted," Elestria said as she looked at them one by one. "Now you will live to serve me," she added and looked at Victoria. "Send them to the dungeon. Mykel will deal with them, train them, and teach them," she continued and then went back inside with Elysande and Melissa.
Jordan, Zachary, and the strongest members of Zero Tier brought the Sinners into the dungeon. They weren't afraid of knowing Mykel was with them even though it was suffocating to be around those five.
"You guys can leave. I want to have some privacy with them," Mykel said as he entered the cell room and stared at those five.
Everyone hurriedly left the dungeon because they couldn't bear the atmosphere.
Mykel snapped his fingers and all the wounds on their bodies healed in an instant. They snapped the shackles and chains on their bodies because it was uncomfortable, but none of them dared to make a move on him.
"From now on, you'll be working under me," Mykel said as he leaned against the cell door with his arms crossed. "Not the Queen, not this nation or other nations. You will only take orders from me," he pointed out.
Nobody listened to his words and acted like they didn't care because they were fearless. They didn't care if they were going to be tortured or die because they had no purpose anymore to be alive.
"If you do what I say, I'll grant anything you want," Mykel pointed out, but none of them were interested in it. "More than what the Gods could offer," he added.
They scoffed and started laughing because that was the funniest and the stupidest thing they had ever heard. Mykel was smiling and staring at them until they realized he was serious, but that didn't stop them from laughing because of it.
"Well then, I would love to have a castle made of gold," Sophia said jokingly.
"Sure thing, here's your advance payment," Mykel responded and pulled a massive block of gold that weighed a ton and dropped it right in front of Sophia.
The laughter stopped and all of them stared at the block of gold with their eyes and mouths wide open. They went to check it and it was indeed gold, a pure one as well that could be the most expensive thing that had ever existed.
"You can ask for more than just a castle made of gold. I can grant anything you want without exception," Mykel said.
"Immortality... I want immortality," Sabel answered without hesitation and looked at Mykel.
"If you want something, you need to work for it. That means you have to work for me," Mykel responded and looked at Sabel. "You're free to believe me or not, but if you leave, you will regret it your whole life," he warned.
They started to listen to Mykel's words and considered following him. But, they still needed to know who he was and what kind of a person he was. They didn't want to work for someone that was too shady even for them.
"Answer my question and I will follow you," Victoria said as she stood up and rubbed her wrist. "Are you planning to get rid of Elestria or are you planning to serve her?" she asked.
"No, she's useful. I won't get rid of her, but I'm not serving her or anyone," Mykel answered.
"Okay. I'm in," Victoria said without hesitation. "My loyalty only to Queen Elysande and her alone. As long as you don't hurt her, I'm willing to work for you," she added.
"I will let you be by her side as long as you behave," Mykel said as he offered his hand for a handshake.
Victoria nodded her head as she shook Mykel's hand.
The others were surprised when Victoria could be easily swayed by him even though she was the one who was against it back then. Knowing that she had decided to work for Mykel, they decided to do the same because they couldn't deny how smart she was compared to them. Also, they didn't want to lose a start since they were competing against each other since the beginning.
It was Mykel's plan in the first place to bait Victoria since she was a fallen noble who still had her prestige. Everyone respected her and feared her, so the only thing he had to do was to take her in and the others would follow.
Zachary and Tristan were talking outside the dungeon and then they heard Mykel leaving. They looked at them and immediately checked his loafers and up to his hair to see if there was a bloodstain.
"It's done?" Tristan asked with a confused look when he didn't see any bloodstains on Mykel's body.
"It's done. Can you guide them to where are they going to sleep from now on?" Mykel asked.
"Are you sure it's done? It's safe, right?" Tristan asked nervously. Stay updated via My Virtual Library Empire
"As long as you gave them a proper place to sleep, a freshwater to bath, a food to eat whenever they're hungry, you'll be fine," Mykel smiled and then left with Zachary.
The morning came, and Mykel didn't even close his eyes for a moment because he was thinking about his new plan. Aevia was sitting right next to him the whole time and she had been so quiet that it made him wonder what had happened to her.
"Time for work," Mykel stood up and put on his suit.
All the five Sinners were gathered in the throne room under Elestria's order. They were playing along because Mykel told them so, just like Melissa and Zachary did.
"You have never disappointed me, Mykel," Elestria said without showing any expression.
"My sole purpose is to grant your wish, Your Highness," Mykel bowed his head.
Victoria realized Elestria was suspicious about Mykel and that was enough to convince her that Mykel was indeed using Elestria. She wondered how far Elestria suspected Mykel, but it was exciting enough to just watch from the side.
"(Both of their words are empty)" Victoria thought as she smirked and lowered her head.
"Let's not waste my time here. Now that you have subdued these sinners, you must have known what I'm about to say, right?" Elestria asked Mykel.
"Eleventh rift in Dystrovia. You want to start their debut, to show the world the new power that you possess," Mykel answered with a smirk. "Your wish is my command," he added.
Although Elestria was suspicious of Mykel, that didn't mean she didn't acknowledge how keen he was. He understood her intention, supported her plans, followed her words, and lastly dirtied his hands for her.
"You have my permission. Now go and clear the rift," Elestria said.
Mykel clapped his hands and all of the Sinners stood up and then followed him out of the room. That was quite weird to look at, but they thought it could be that he hypnotized them or brainwashed them. A single clap was enough to make them follow him without hesitation, something that was quite amazing and terrifying at the same time.
Zachary tagged along since he had a duty as Gifted and because Melissa asked him to go. The seven of them went to Dystrovia and Zachary contacted Javelin about what they were planning to do.
"Wait? He's also one of your people?" Sabel asked Mykel as he pointed at Zachary after he listened to Zachary's story.
"Yes. He follows me because he wants to protect someone. I did threaten both of them, so they didn't have a choice," Mykel answered.
"Poor guy, but nobody cares," Sophia laughed and made fun of Zachary.
The scenery inside the private jet made Mykel remember the old times. It was uncanny that the way they talked to each other and made fun of each other were identical.
"Everything feels so nostalgic. I wonder why is that," Mykel said as he looked at Aevia who was sitting in front of him and staring at him.
Aevia didn't say a word and kept staring Mykel in the eye with an unsettling expression that made Mykel a bit uncomfortable.
