Chapter 325: Nature of woman.
Two months had passed and the world started to pay more attention to the Faelethria Kingdom. The rift clearance made Elestria the most important and powerful figure in the world for what she had contributed to the world. Everyone started to make a move and tried to be on the good side of Elestria, and she took them in with open arms.
Victoria regained her title as the Duchess of the Faelethria Kingdom, but in truth, it was just a play that Elestria did. Although Victoria got her power back, the shackles bound her from doing whatever she wanted. The others got their own rewards and land for themselves to make their territory.
If it was seen by the naked eye, the Faelethria Kingdom looked the same, but underneath it, it started to become bigger. Slowly but surely she took a small chunk of land from Dystrovia by pretending to help the nation grow.
The world was peaceful from demons and monsters, but the power that Elestria possessed soon would bring fear and anxiety to both nations. She took the Isola Key Island and all the notorious criminals under Mykel's hand with Victoria and the other Sinners that used to be their leaders.
It was according to Elestria's plan and it was all Thanks to Mykel's effort that made it so easy. The world started to feel threatened by the small kingdom and there was nothing they could do about it.
"Mykel, good morning..." Jessie said as she rubbed her eyes with her messy hair, sitting on the bed with her eyes barely open.
"Morning. Are you hungry?" Mykel asked as he walked to the bed. "Wash your face first while I wake Henry up, and then we can eat breakfast," he added as he fixed Jessie's hair which had become very long.
Jessie hummed and slowly walked to the bathroom.
"You're living your life to the fullest, I see," Aevia said as she lay down on the bed and looked at Mykel. "I wonder what Elena would say if she saw you replaced her with Jessie," she added.
"She might have replaced me by now as well," Mykel responded as he gently woke Henry up by stroking his hair. "If you're that curious about her opinion, why don't you go and ask it yourself?" he added.
Mykel already knew about Elena and what happened out there, including Elena's situation. He didn't show any concern or sympathy toward her, and that also happened to Elena who didn't care about Mykel's new life. Both of them amazed Aevia that they didn't care for each other no matter how Aevia looked deep into their feelings and thoughts.
"You both are so similar that it's almost identical," Aevia said as she looked at Henry. "You both are so heartless even when it comes to just the two of you," she added.
"It is what it is," Mykel said under his breath as he carried Henry in his arms to wake him up. "Now, if you have nothing else to say, don't bother me," he added and then brought Henry to the bathroom.
Aevia started to suspect something about Mykel and Elena on how they gave up on each other than easily. But, no matter how hard she tried to find out what it was, she couldn't figure it out because both of them had no hidden intention. If it was just a coincidence, it only made her more anxious and suspicious.
"I can't figure it out, and it's really annoying," Aevia said and then disappeared into thin air.
Mykel, Jessie, and Henry were having breakfast together, and then Elysande came in to join them. Both Jessie and Henry gave salutations and greeted her like every noble did to the royal family.
Elsyande found it cute and greeted them the same way they did, but she looked way more dignified when she did it.
"Good morning, Henry, Jessie. Would it be okay if I join you for breakfast?" Elysande asked with her gentle and warm smile.
"Yes, Your Highness! Please join us!" Jessie smiled so widely.

They were having a lively breakfast, and the palace became more lively because of those two. The maids and servants were happy and pleased to take care of them because of how cute and innocent they were. Nobody hated them, but there was one who barely spoke to them, and it was Elestria since she was busy with her ambition.
"I won't bother you again, but I'm wondering if you brought those children because you genuinely want to raise them or is it for something else," Aevia asked and sat next to Mykel who was watching Elysande having tea time with Henry and Jessie.
"Woman is a simple creature when it comes to nature," Mykel paused as he put a cigarette in his mouth. "They would want to see their blood run through their descendants. No matter how powerful a woman is, when it comes to seeing another woman with their child, they would be jealous," he added.
"Ah, so you're trying to lure Elestria with those kids. Making her think that she's in the age of breeding," Aevia responded.
"Not just her, both of them," Mykel pointed out as he looked at Elysande. "I want to see how long they could endure the urge," he added and smoked his cigarette.
"Humans are indeed interesting," Aevia chuckled.
"I think it's something that even you can't resist someday. No matter how omnipotent you are, you will want to see yourself from a different perspective," Mykel said. "I think it's the only thing that made all of us in common. Even The Lord split himself to see another himself live a different life."
Aevia didn't say anything and then disappeared.
"Mykel! Let's catch some butterflies!" Jessie waved at Mykel from the gazebo in the middle of the garden.
"I'm sorry, but I want to talk with Lady Elysande first. Can you play with the maids? They said there are dozens of cocoons in the woods," Myself said.
Jessie and Henry's eyes were so bright when they heard it and immediately asked the maid to bring them into the woods. After they left, Elsyande was left alone with Mykel, and so they both spoke privately in the gazebo.
"I apologize that you have to waste your time with them even though it's my responsibility," Mykel said.
"No, I'm grateful that you brought them here. They're a treasure to me," Elysande responded and she looked pitiful remembering that she couldn't have her own baby. "Can I ask you something personal, Mykel? It might be too rude for me to ask this," she asked.
"Please, My Lady. I'm your vessel and you can ask me anything," Mykel smiled.
Elysande hesitated, but she gathered the courage to ask the question.
"You said that you had a family before, can you tell me about it? That's if you don't mind, and I'm not forcing you to tell me if you don't want to," Elysande asked.
"It's okay, I'll tell My Lady about it," Mykel answered.
Mykel told Elysande about Lyneth, Elena, and Little Sasha but he made up a story that was believable to her. He made them all die during their first encounter with the monsters and the rift. It was enough to make her eyes glimmer in tears and she couldn't stop sniffling from hearing the story.
"It's in the past now, and I don't think I can recreate the times I had with them," Mykel said.
"I see. Your grief and hatred are the only things that keep you moving forward," Elysande wiped her eyes. "If one day everything is over, what are you planning to do?" she asked.
"I don't know. I guess I would be by myself, walking the path alone, and see how long I can go," Mykel answered and showed his pitiful smile.
"It's funny that I thought the same thing as you," Elysande smiled.
"I hope not, My Lady. I know that you're too precious to belong to someone, but I believe you will find someone," Mykel said as he stood up. "I hope whoever that man is, he could make you feel fulfilled and loved," he smiled. "I'll excuse myself because Jessie and Henry are waiting for me," he bowed his head and then left.
Elysande was moved by Mykel's words and felt like his words were more than just words, but truly a wish for her happiness.
"I was wondering why you haven't entered the office, sister. Looks like you were having tea without me," Elestria said as she sat down across Elysande. "What were you two talking about?" she asked.
"His past..." Elysande answered.
Elestria slightly furrowed her eyebrows because Elysande was smiling, but she looked sad and happy at the same time. She then brushed it off and ordered the servant to bring a new set of tea and snacks for both of them.
Jessie and Henry exhausted themselves catching butterflies and fell asleep as soon as they had dinner, took a bath, and were brought to bed. Mykel was watching them sleep and then he heard Elysande's voice as she knocked on the door.
"My Lady?" Mykel walked out of the room and closed the door behind him.
"Are they asleep?" Elysande asked.
"Yes, they passed out the moment their faces hit the pillow," Mykel chuckled as he nodded his head. "Would you like to see their sleeping face, My Lady?" he raised his eyebrows.
"I would love to, but I'm here not for them. Can I borrow your time for a moment?" Elysande asked.
Mykel nodded and then he followed Elysande, but he noticed that she brought her to her chamber. But since Elysande's chamber was also her office, it wasn't really a surprise if she brought him there.
"I have prepared tea for us and some snacks. I hope that would be enough to fill your stomach," Elysande said as she opened the door and let Mykel in.
