Devil Slave (Satan system)

Chapter 1098: To Free Lilith

Virgil led Athena past a massive hill, the jagged rocks biting into the soles of her feet as they trudged through the desolate landscape.

The oppressive air grew thicker as they descended the other side, the weight of Hell’s malevolence pressing down on them with every step. As they reached the base, a sight in the far-off distance caught their attention, one that made even Virgil pause.

Stretched out before them was the Aborted Pool of Living Blood, a grotesque, pulsating mass that spanned for kilometers. The pool’s surface churned with thick, viscous blood, the color of darkened rubies, alive with the tortured cries of souls submerged within its depths. This place was said to be the pain bled by women that had intentionally killed life growing within their bellies.

It was one of the most concentrated parts of hell with the aura of the forbidden. But it wasn’t just the pool that drew their gaze—it was what surrounded it.

Encircling the pool on all sides was a towering wall of bones, the remains of the deceased stacked in an unnerving, deliberate pattern. These weren’t just bones; they were skeletons, each one locked in a perpetual state of suffering.

Their hollow eye sockets glowed with an eerie dark light, and their bony hands were clasped together in a grotesque mockery of unity. The skeletons were piled ten feet high, forming a solid wall that leaned inward, creating a macabre canopy over the pool itself.

The skeletal wall was alive with movement. Dark red runes, glowing with a sinister light, crawled across the bones, as if infused with the souls of the damned. These runes slithered from one skeleton to another, weaving through the dead as if they were sentient, fueling the eternal torment that echoed through the air. The constant wails of pain and despair emanating from the wall sent shivers down Athena’s spine, the sound a relentless assault on her very sensitive senses.

"This is the seal," Virgil muttered, his voice low and filled with a grim understanding. "A prison designed to contain Lilith, the mother of the unforgiving."

Athena stared at the horrific scene before her, the sheer magnitude of the suffering etched into the very bones of the wall. The skeletons, their forms twisted and broken, seemed to writhe in their torment, their screams a haunting melody that filled the air.

The dark runes moved like living parasites, sucking the last remnants of life from the skeletal remains, ensuring their agony would never end.

But it wasn’t just the wall of bones that held her attention. Standing before the pool, a massive figure loomed—an enormous three-headed dog, its body as large as a skyscraper from Earth. Each head was monstrous, with jaws capable of crushing mountains, and eyes that glowed with an unholy fire.

This was the original Cerberus, the guardian of Hell’s deepest secrets, the very model that myths had been built upon. Even cuban had tried to copy creating this beast but had only managed to create the knock offs that he did.

Its fur was black as the void, and as it breathed, the ground beneath it trembled, the air around it crackling with chaos magic.

Virgil’s eyes narrowed as he gazed at the creature. "That is a Cup Bearer," he said, his voice tinged with disdain.

Athena turned to him, her brow furrowed in confusion. "A Cup Bearer?"

Virgil nodded, his gaze never leaving the monstrous Cerberus. "Cup Bearers are direct servants of Lucifer himself, devils of immense power. There are over a thousand of them, each one holding a rank that exalts Lucifer’s pride. They are loyal only to the Morningstar, and their very existence is a testament to his arrogance. He values nothing more than his own supremacy, and so he grants titles that reflect only his greatness."

Athena’s eyes narrowed as she considered the implications. "If they’re loyal to Lucifer, why haven’t they removed the seal holding Lilith down? It looks like they’re guarding it."

Virgil’s expression darkened, his lips curling into a grimace. "The reins of power in Hell are delicate, constantly shifting. If Lilith were to be freed, her influence would rival even Lucifer’s. The Cup Bearers, despite their loyalty, have inherited their master’s pride. They do not wish to serve under anyone else, not even her. To them, Lilith’s release would signify a change they are not willing to accept. So they guard the seal, ensuring that she remains imprisoned, even if it means defying their own master’s potential will."

Athena gazed at the towering Cerberus, understanding the magnitude of the task before her. The seal, the guardian, the very essence of Hell itself seemed poised to prevent Lilith’s freedom. Yet, she knew that if she was to achieve her goal, to return to her world, this was a challenge she could not shy away from.

The monstrous Cerberus shifted its weight, one of its heads turning to gaze at Athena with eyes that burned with a hellish fire. The air grew thick with tension, the silence before the storm. Athena clenched her fists, the reality of the situation settling over her like a shroud.

"Then we’ll have to find a way," she whispered, more to herself than to Virgil.

Virgil finally turned to her, his expression serious. "Indeed, but tread carefully. This is not a battle you can win with brute force alone. You’ll need cunning, strategy, and perhaps even a touch of madness to survive what lies ahead."

Athena nodded, steeling herself for the confrontation to come. The path forward was fraught with peril, but she had come too far to turn back now.

Seeing that she was of no power importance, the Cerberus looked away, continuing its slumber. However, Athena had to approach. Before she left, she asked virgil if it was possible to sneak though the cracks in the skeleton seal and he stated that it was not possible.

He stated that the only way to free Lilith was to corrupt the aborted blood with the blood of the Living. Meaning that all it took was one blood from her body in the pool and Lilith would be free.
