Chapter 1106: Lenny’s Game
As Lenny summoned his ’farm animals’ unto the board, he waved his hand and a throne, similarly like the one the devil was seating on, except gold, appeared.
Lenny took his seat on it, folding his leg and his sharp chin resting into his palm. LEnny had long white hair that usually fell down his shoulder but he made effort to tie behind his head. Yet it only made him look all the more graceful. With his eyes that were unaturally blue like the see his clear bright skin as a result of the lucifer blood running in his veins, he represented a beautiful more serene comparison to the heavy headed devil far opposite him on the battlefield.
Both of them locked eyes for a few moments, with neither wanting to lose to the other.
The air literally got thicker with the silence that followed. After all, these opponents were staring at each other with the substance of the laws within the realm of their control.
It was indeed incredible to watch and the old Elf at the corner was the spectator to such brilliance.
Lenny looked like a lord, observing the efforts of his people as they tried to entertain a smile from his lips. "Shall we begin!"
As Lenny was the new person on the board, it was not his move. Winner takes all. The Devil was to take the first move.
It waved a hand, signaling the movement of a pawn forward.
It was only one move, but it had triggered the incredible analytic ability that Lenny’s mind was capable of unfolding.
After all, the end of any battle was always determined by the first move.
This was a rule about war many were not aware of.
At the start of the game, fate had already declared who would win and who would lose.
Lenny took note of the move that the devil King had made. It was not as free giving as the previous game. There was no luring in.
Instead, the Devil had given a more defensive approach.
The pawn moved forward had simply taken a step, not out of the air of playing the game, but rather out of preservation.
Lenny took note of that. He could tell a bit of what the devil king was trying to do. After all, one must know thy enemy to win in the most efficient manner.
Right now, The devil King was actually testing him out.
Since it could obviously not use its previous strategy, it was actively creating a new one on the go.
In Lenny’s head, a series of moves began to happen. They were two hundred of them happening at the same time. All of which were predicting moves of the next set of actions in the next 10 moves that the Devil king would make, all in response to a series of moves that lenny had planned on taking.
The Air was palpable with thick tension, And lenny had not even made the first move.
For the old Elf, it almost looked as if Lenny was afraid of moving, which was almost ridiculous to think. After all, his demeanor spoke otherwise.
It was really frustrating to watch. After all, he was not in the game, and thus could not force Lenny’s hand even if he wanted to.
after what felt like the passing of a couple of years, Lenny made his move. His first move was with his knight. the move was one where he immediately went for the offensive.
the knight stepped forward.
The Devil King knew that it meant that Lenny was willing to attack immediately. The next move saw that his black bishop took the point that the pawn had excited from, also a defensive move.
Naturally, during a chess a game, it was consider wise to have a game covering the attack of another game. More like an assist following from behind.
Since lenny had made up his mind to attack, it was expected that he would at least do this much, or even better, attack from multiple directions with each attacking piece having the advantage of having another piece to cover their rear.
However, it was not so.
Instead, he outrightly instructed the piece representing the knight to step forward towards the line of fire of the pawn.
The Devil king was skeptical of this move.
After all, if it attacked, it would mean that lenny had effectively lost a knight. However, in a game of chess, games were usually sacrificed for a much greater opportunity or advantage.
As far as it was concerned, lenny had a plan coming up.
that served as the only logical explanation for such a move.
As such, the devil king did not take the Knight that had been offered. Instead, on the other side of the board, another pawn was moved, allowing space for the bishop piece to move out if intended to.
The old Elf watching the game was still curious as to why Lenny had played such a game. After all, till this moment, this was not a logical move to make.
And that was true. This move did not make any sense whatsoever.
However, the true problem was in the next four moves.
Just like the first, lenny had spaced out his games, such that they were everywhere on the board.
It was almost as if it was six year old child learning how to play this game for the first time.
The game play was absolutely ridiculous.
After a while, the devil king smiled, coming to a realization that Lenny might not actually know how to play the game. Even worse, he did not know how the Devil rules affected the game. A side of its lips coiled up in a smile that claimed its victory that it had already mentally declared.
And then it began. The massacre, and it was a very terrible one to observe.
So terrible that the old Elf turned to Lenny and was compelled to say a prayer for his soul.
