Devil Slayers in Rwby (Fairy Tail/Saint Seiya x Rwby)

Chapter 5: Chapter 5: The Badge, The Burden, & New.. Instructors?

Hey everyone, back with another new chapter for this story! Last chapter was like uber long due to all of the action it, but this one will be a little more relaxed. This will cover Weiss's personal episode in volume 1. Cardin will have a little more of an active role this time as I'm planning something a little bit different for him and his team this time around. Anyways before we get started just a few polls:

Who should Weiss end up with?

A. Kazuma

B. Toshirou

C. Max

D. Shoryu

E. other male character (write in suggestion)

Who should Blake end up with?

A. Shoryu

B. Kazuma

C. Max

D. Toshirou

E. other male character (write in suggestion)

That's all for the polls for now, onto the story!

Opening theme:

Tales of Bersia opening- BURN

Visuals: Main Cast introduced in the story so far (Dragonblade siblings, Ruby, Yang, and the Tokyoheim siblings) pans down from a calm sky towards Beacon where students some silhouetted fall down from the sky.

It then transitions to each character introduced so far fighting one grim, before the song picks up and they are seen fighting the grim together. The opening visual ends as Teams MKKH, MTSGY, JNPR, and RWBY then fight off an enemy presumably a villain before it pans back up to the sky.

Chapter 4: The Badge, Burden, & ... New Instructors?!

The screen comes up as we see a view of Beacon Academy on a bright and sunny morning. The camera then zooms into a window of a dorm, belonging to a certain team of new students as they prepare for their stroll to morning classes. We first see a certain crimson hair and green eyed faunus struggling with the tie on his school uniform. This teen faunus student in question is of course one Koga Dragonblade of Team MKKH.

"Dumb.. stupid neck trap!," He says grunting in frustration as he attempts to get the piece of clothing situated.

Seeing her childhood friend struggle so mightily with the piece of outer clothing, Hon'oo walks over towards Koga as she inwardly sighs.

"Here, let me help you Koga.,"The darker skinned faunus said with a noticeable sigh in her voice.

Koga's face flushed slightly in embarrassment. Not even a full day in as a new student and he was already embarrassing his team.

"Sorry about this Hon'oo... You'd think they'd make these "things" easier to put on for guys like me.," Koga said embarrassed with himself already.

Hon'oo chuckled as she fixed the boy's messed up tie.

"Not to worry, Ko. These things happen when you're nervous. You'll adjust and before you know it, you won't need my help to fix your own uniform tie.," She said.

He nodded in thanks. Hon'oo was like another elder sister to him in these moments and he appreciated all that she did for him.

"Someday... I'll pay you back for always helping me out, Hon'oo, promise.," He thought to himself.

Once she finished fixing the boy's tie on his uniform, she looked up at him. Koga may have been younger than her, but he'd already grown to be taller than she was. But, she was okay with that. Koga was like a younger brother or cousin almost to her. She enjoyed helping him out and spoiling him at times.

"There, good as new.," she said.

"Thanks, Hon'oo. I'll pay you back someday for everything you do for me.," Koga told her.

The faunus girl and childhood friend just smiled at him before she spoke.

"Ko, I already told you that you don't have to worry about it. I've done nothing that you or any other good friend wouldn't have done in my shoes.," Hon'oo replied with a smile.

"Are you two ready? We're going to be late if you keep standing there.," Kazuma said.

"Oh, right!," Koga said refocusing.

The team of faunus then exited their dorm room and made their way down the hallway. Along the way to class, they crossed paths with Team MSTGY (Mist's Team). Both teams headed towards class, but not without checking in on Team Rwby first.

In Team RWBY's dorm room...

The camera pans over to Weiss Schnee sleeping soundly in her bed. Her eyes flutter open and she stretches her arms above herself, yawning, while Ruby Rose, dressed in her strangely-colored school uniform, creeps up on her side and suddenly blows a whistle, causing Weiss to fall off the bed.

"Good Morning, Team Rwby!," Ruby said excitedly.

Weiss is sprawled out on the floor from the impact of Ruby blowing a whistle into her ear just seconds ago as she then voices her annoyance.

"What in the world is wrong with you?!," Weiss asked annoyed with the energetic girl.

To her growing annoyance, Ruby ignores the question and addresses her team.

"Now that you're awake, we can officially begin our first order of business.," Ruby said.

Weiss raised an eyebrow in question.

"And that would be?," The schnee asked.

Yang is seen holding a collection of objects - pillows, pamphlets, a candle-holder - in her arms, also dressed alongside Blake.

"Decorating!," Yang said enthusiastic.

"What?!," Weiss asked steadily growing more annoyed by the moment.

Blake then is seen lifting her suitcase, before all of its contents promptly spill onto the floor a moment later.

"Aaaand clean.," Blake said.

Weiss does not look enthusiastic, especially when Ruby knocks her back again with the blow of her whistle.

A/N: Ruby sure likes using her whistle lol 😂

"Aaaalright! Weiss, Blake, Yang, and their fearless leader, Ruby, have begun their first mission! Banzai!," Ruby says raising her fist into the air excited.

Ruby, Blake, and Yang are seen to be mirroring Ruby's previous action as they are with the girl at her sides.

"Banzai!", They all said.

The trio turns at an angle as Weiss lays on the floor while upbeat montage music starts to play in the background.

Yang places a poster of six guys in various poses named "THE ACHIEVE MEN" on her part of the room. Weiss positions the painting of the Forever Fall forest to perfection and walks away. Blake is busy putting away her books on the shelves, picking up a copy of Ninjas of Love and widening her eyes as she warily looks around before putting it back.

Ruby positions Crescent Rose at an exact angle against the curtains so she can perfectly slash a diagonal portion off. A quick zoom around the room (and the repaired curtains) ends with the girls admiring their handiwork... with one problem. The beds are cramped together in the center of the floor.

"This.. isn't going to work.," Weiss mentions.

"It is a little cramped.," Blake said.

"Maybe we should ditch some of our stuff...," Yang trailed off in thought.

Ruby then spoke up as she thought of a solution to fix their current problem.

"Or... we could ditch the beds... and replace them with bunk beds!," Ruby suggested.

"Umm, that sounds incredibly dangerous.," Weiss said.

"And super awesome!," Yang said excited.

"It does seem to be efficient.," Blake said.

"We should at least put it to a vote first.," Weiss said.

"I think we just did.," Ruby replied.

To the sounds of two dings and a single buzz sound off in the background, Blake thumbs up the idea, Yang makes a double-rocker gesture, and Weiss angrily curls her fists at her side. Decided, they rush at the beds, where sounds of jackhammering and sawing are heard until they gather back at the front of the room.

"Objective: Complete!," Ruby says with a thumbs up.

While Weiss' bed is simply on the ground next to her art and luggage, Blake's bed is next to her books, which are used to raise Yang's bed over it by placing the novels on the posts, and Ruby's is hanging from ropes on the ceiling with a blanket used as a tent over it.

Just as they're about to continue on with their business, a knock is heard at the door.

"Wonder who that is?," Yang asked aloud.

"I'll get it!," Ruby said as she walks to the door.

Upon opening the door, she sees that it's Koga and his team that are standing just outside of the doorway.

"Oh K-Koga! What a surprise! What are you doing here?," Ruby asked a tad nervous.

"Oh uh... just came to see if you guys knew that classes are starting soon.," Koga answered.

"Huh? Oh yeah, we know that. We'll be there soon. We're just.. straightening out the room is all." She answered.

"I see.. well we'll uh.. be going on ahead then. See you in class?," Koga asked.

"Oh, yeah! See ya then!," Ruby said as she noticed Koga's team leave.

Yang, Blake, and Weiss noticed the other all faunus team follow Koga and his teammates. The all girl team then return to inside of the dorm room not thinking anything of it, mostly. Ruby, however had a nagging feeling that there was a pretty important reason why Koga and the others came to check on them. But for the life of her, she just couldn't think of what that reason wouod be. She would later come to regret this decision.

"Allllright! Our second order of business iiiiiiiis...!"

The camera spins until Ruby lands on her bed with her book plopping into her lap.

"Classes..." Ruby continued her thought as she pulls out a pencil absent-minded. "Now we have a few classes together today. At 9, we've got to be-"

Weiss interrupted Ruby, wide eyed as she realized what Ruby just said about the time.

"What the-?! Did you just say 9:00?," Weiss asked.

Ruby raised an eyebrow and nodded, unaware of what the big fuss was about.

"Yeah... I did, why?," Ruby asked.

"No wonder those two other teams went ahead of us! It's 8:55, you dunce!," Weiss said slightly panicked.

Weiss is the first one rushing out of the room and down the hall, the members of RWBY and JNPR peeking out from their doorways to look at her go.

Ruby is seen looking flabbergasted until, she finally realized why Weiss rushed out of the dorm.

"To class then!," Ruby said follwing the rest of her team. "I knew there was a reason why Koga stopped in to check on us! I should've gotten a clue right then! Hopefully we're not too late!"

Ruby runs out, followed by Yang, and Blake.

"Class...?,"Jaune asks aloud before he loses his balance and tripping the rest of his team who land on top of him.

Getting out from underneath the pile, he quickly dashes out into the hall to follow Ruby and her team.

"To class, guys! We're gonna be late!," He manages to say.

The scene then transitions to In the courtyard, Professor Ozpin, along with Glynda, and a few other familiar individuals look down at the scene.

Glynda looks at her watch and sighs, while the other figures chuckle, and Ozpin simply takes a sip of his drink.

The classroom....

Students are seen to be sitting around, relaxed as if they're waiting for something. Hon'oo turns to Koga and whispers to him, concerned at the tardiness of their friends.

"Think they'll make it in time?," she asked in a whisper.

Koga nodded.

"Yeah. They'll be here any second now. In 3..., 2...., and 1...," Koga said as he counted off fingers before both RWBY and JNPR came crashing through the classroom door. This prompted Professor Peter Port to turn with a chuckle as he welcomed the 2 teams who were nearly late for his lecture.

"Ah, miss Rose, and Mister Arc. Pleasure for you and your teams to join us. In the future, do try not to make this a recurring habit, yes?" Peter Port said.

"Ah y-Yes sir! It won't happen again!," Both leaders apologized before they took their seats along with their teams.

The professor then began his lecture.

"Nice guess, Koga. You're pretty accurate.," Hon'oo whispered.

Koga shook his head.

"Nah, just a lucky guess.," Koga replied.

The scene transitions again to a few minutes later.

The sight of an axe-blunderbuss weapon pans down to the boards displaying various species of Grimm - King Taijitu, Death Stalker, Beowolf, Boarbatusk, Nevermore, and Ursa - behind an elderly teacher named Peter Port.

"Monsters! Deeeemons... Prowlers of the night! Yes, the creatures of Grimm have many names, but I merely refer to them as prey! Ha-ha!," Port said laughing at his own joke.

Unfortunately, his joke didn't take as most of the students didn't get the joke or were already bored out of their collective minds. Max and the others were busy scribbling down notes, taking in what useful info they could get out of the class. Ruby noticed Koga had jotted down some interesting notes from the lecture.

His notes were diagrams of what looked like...

"Styles of Combat? And... bare handed combat at that...," Ruby wondered curiously.

She was subtly peeking at the red head's notes and noticed there were what appeared to be diagrams of some kind of crystal. It was almost, no, it was the crystal he wore like a necklace.

"I know Koga san's some kind of Faunus. What I don't know is... what kind of faunus he is and... how he fights exactly.," Ruby thought to herself.

Meanwhile, beside Ruby, members of her team are in varying stages of interest; Blake and Yang are sitting up and paying attention, and Weiss is taking notes. Then of course, there's Ruby, herself. While she's trying to determine what Koga's notes are saying, she has her head, propped up in her hands as she attempts to stay awake before ultimately failing and taking a quick nap. She's awoken by Port's poor excuse for a joke, which recieved cricket like silence as a result.

"Uhhhh... And you shall too, upon graduating from this prestigious academy! Now, as I was saying: Vale, as well as the other three kingdoms, are safe havens in an otherwise treacherous world! Our planet is absolutely teeming with creatures that would love nothing more than to tear you to pieces! And that's where we come in. Huntsmen! Huntresses..," Port says guving Yang a wink to which she silently and uncomfortably groans at in disgust before he continues.

"Individuals who have sworn to protect those who cannot protect themselves! From what, you ask? Why, the very world!," Port said finishing his thought.

To this, a random student then stands and raises his fist in the air.

"Ayyyy-yep," The student says enthusiastic.

The young man then sits awkwardly back down after realizing that he just embarrassed himself with the strange action after receiving odd looks from his classmates.

"But, that is precisely what you are training to become. But first: A story. A tale of a young, handsome man... Me! When I was a boy..." Port answered.

To this, an audible groan was heard from the entire class. Max and his siblings now understood why no one wanted to take Professor Port's class most of the time. The reason: They'd be bored out of their minds listening to his infamous "stories" about his youth.

His words fade into the background in a series of blahs was heard from him. While this was going on, Weiss notices Ruby is very focused on penciling the paper in front of her. This caused her to raise a curious eyebrow. She'd never seen Ruby that focused in the short time she's known her.

"...Despite smelling of cabbages, my grandfather was a wise man. 'Peter', he told me..."

Port's story devolves into another series of blah blahs as Ruby is seen silently chuckling at her creation as she shows it to her friends: a small ball-with-limbs-and-a-head drawing of the teacher with stink lines coming from him and "Professor Poop" written underneath. Ruby blows a quick raspberry. Blake and Yang laugh, but Weiss looks annoyed.

The others silently chuckle at this, but hold it in for the sake of keeping their composure. Port then clears his throat, gaining the students attention.

"Ah-heh-hem!," Port clears his throat.

He waits until he has all of students attention again before continuing with his story.

" In the end, the Beowolf was no match for my sheer tenacity, and I returned to my village with the beast in captivity and my head held high, celebrated as a hero!," Port said as he took a short bow.

Weiss slowly gets more and more frustrated with Ruby's antics.

Hon'oo turns to Max and whispers through the side of her mouth.

"Looks like our 'Heiress' is about to blow a gasket. How long do think she'll last?," Hon'oo whispered.

Max turns to her and hold up 2 fingers.

"I'd give her 2 minutes, if even that.," Max said.

"Uh... I'd say more like a minute or so.," Koga added.

The other faunus teens seemed to nod their heads in agreement as they watched the young schnee heiress get more and more annoyed with her leader as the class wore on.

"The moral of the story? A true Huntsman must be honorable!" Port said.

Ruby is balancing an apple on a book with her pencil held only by her finger while making a silly face.

"A true Huntsman must be dependable!"

Ruby has fallen asleep again in the first class of the year.

"A true Huntsman must be strategic, well-educated, and wise!"

Ruby is not-so-subtly picking her nose, much to Weiss' building anger.

Before Port can continue, the door opens and in walks a rather familiar Faunus woman with long black hair, matching horns, with darkened skin, wearing a white huntsman uniform.

"Thank you, Professor Port. Allow me to take it from here.," The woman said.

Hon'oo and Shoryu's eyes are not so subtly wide as saucers.

"What the-?! MOTHER?!," They both thought.

Port steps to the side and allows the woman to continue what he was going to say.

"Now then, as Professor Port was saying: who believes themselves to be the embodiment of these traits?," The woman asked.

"3..." Hon'oo says.

"2.." Max said.

"Aaannnddd... 1." Koga said.

Weiss then shoots her hand up in anger as she emphatically nominates herself.

"I do, s- I mean.. ma'am!," Weiss said just now noticing the Faunus woman.

Weiss inwardly was about to say something not so endearing, but one look at her eyes told her that it probably wasn't a smart idea to make this new 'professor' angry with her. Whoever she was, there's something "frightening" or "chilling" about this woman. At least that's what Weiss believed.

"Ah, miss Schnee. Splendid for you to volunteer. Let's find out, shall we?," The woman replied. "Port, if you would, please."

Port nodded and turns to open the cage with glowing red eyes.

"Step forward, and face your opponent!," Port bellowed.

He then swung his axe as the cage opened, freeing the mysterious creature.

The screen turns black, but then comes back up as Weiss prepares herself to face the creature, a Boar type Grimm. She is seen brandishing her rapier dust weapon, Myrtenaster.

Her teammates cheer her on from their seats in the front row.

Yang is seen to be raising her fist as she cheers on her teammate.

"Goooo, Weiss!," Yang cheered.

Blake is seen to be waving a small flag with RWBY on it as she offers her cheers for her teammate as well.

"Fight well.," Blake said waving the small flag.

"Yeah, represent Teeeeam RWBY!," Ruby cheered enthusiastic.

Weiss becomes annoyed as she lowers her sword and snaps at her leader.

"Ruby, I'm trying to focus here!," Weiss snapped back at the girl.

This caused Ruby to lose her smile and shrink back as she wasn't expecting Weiss to suddenly yell at her.

"Oh... umm... sorry..," Ruby said looking sheepish from Weiss' outburst.

Koga and the others noticed this and scowled at it. They didn't like how this was going. Ruby had done nothing to warrant Weiss berating her so harshly. In their eyes it was unnecessary for the heiress to act in such a foolish manner.

"If you are ready, miss Schnee..," Yin said before giving way to Port.

"Let the match, begin!,"Port said pulling out Blowhard and striking the cage to open it.

(Seriously lol 😂 who names their weapon Blowhard? 😂😂😂)

The professor swings down and breaks the lock, dropping the cage door and revealing the Boarbatusk inside, which immediately charges at Weiss. She uses Myrtenaster to deflect its attack and roll to the side, readying herself for its next move. The Grimm stands a distance away from its enemy, studying her.

"Ha- Ha! Wasn't expecting that, were you?", Port said.

Yin eyed the heiress cautiously, she wanted to see what the girl would do next.

"A bold start, miss Schnee. But... what will you do now?," Yin thought curiously.

From the seats, Ruby offered some words of encouragement.

"Hang in there, Weiss! You can do it!," Ruby cheered her on.

Weiss is seen to be speeding towards the oncoming Boarbatusk, sticking her blade straight at its skull until they meet and Myrtenaster is trapped in the beast's tusks. Weiss is still hanging on to the hilt, and is tossed around as she struggles to get the rapier back.

"Ohh... Bold, new approach... I like it!," Port said.

Yin eyed Weiss skeptically as she didn't like what she was seeing so far. Weiss was far too antagonistic towards her team leader, that was a definite red flag... one that could get her into trouble some day. She'd have to address that afterwards.

"Come on, Weiss! Show it who's boss!," Ruby said.

Weiss then immediately glares at Ruby, which the girl notices and shrinks back again. Yin noticed her children, as well as the Dragonblade siblings were scowling at this behavior from Weiss.

"Hm... seems they noticed it too.. perhaps I'll let them handle the brunt of this problem.," Yin thought internally.

"Oh-ho! Now what will you do without your weapon?" Port asked.

Weiss looks up just in time to see the Boarbatusk charge again, rolling out of the way just in time to avoid getting trampled and make it crash into a desk. Weiss rushes at her sword and slides to get it back in her hand.

"Weiss! Go for its belly! There's no armor underneath-," Ruby said trying to help out her teammate but is interrupted when the schnee shoots her a menacing glare.

"Stop telling me what to do!," Weiss snapped at Ruby.

Ruby looks hurt at Weiss' rebuttal. And that earns quite the glares from faunus teams present, as well as the teacher, Yin. Though in her case, it was more of a momentary glare before a sigh of disappointment in her student.

Meanwhile, the Boarbatusk leaps into the air and rolls into a ball, spinning rapidly in the air and landing on the ground, consistently gaining speed until it launches itself at Weiss.

It comes closer and closer, but Weiss activates one of her blue-white circles and blocks the roll, leaping up into the now-black snowflake symbol and turning it blue again so she can drive the blade into the Boarbatusk's stomach. It squeals and falls silent while Weiss gasps in relief.

While Port applauds her effort, no one else does due to her contentious attitude towards Ruby. Weiss can no doubt feel the glares and stares of the others in the room. But, she didn't care. In her mind, she was in the right. If only, that were the case. She couldn't be any further from the truth of the matter.

"Bravo! Bra-vo! It appears we are indeed in the presence of a true Huntress-in-training!," Port said as Weiss stands up at attention while Ruby continues to frown.

" I'm afraid that's all the time we have for today. Be sure to cover the assigned readings, and... stay vigilant! Class dismissed!", Port said as students begin to exit the classroom.

Weiss glares and turns away, as she begins walking towards the exit of the classroom. Well, she would have if a certain combat teacher didn't place her hand on her shoulder.

"A word when you have a moment, miss Schnee. You may have fooled Port, but that was a very poor performance young lady.," Yin said before walking towards the door of the classrom.

Weiss was confused. What did she do wrong?

Ruby is seen to be running out of the classroom, upset as her teammates (minus Weiss) go after her.

"Ruby! Wait up!," Yang said calling after her sister.

Koga then walks up to weiss and does something no one expected him to do: He slapped Weiss on the face!

Everyone was shocked that he did that.

"I hope you're proud of yourself, heiress! I don't see a huntress, what i see is a self righteous and priviledged brat who's always gotten what she wants!" Koga said glaring at her before he walked away.

Max sighed as he put a hand on Weiss's shoulder.

"You really messed up Weiss. I thought you were better than that, guess I was wrong about you huh?," Max said as he walked past her.

Mist just eyed her before continuing on past her with a look of disgust on her face. Gwynne was ushered forward by Toshirou, and Kazuma stopped before he said something that offended Weiss but also got her thinking.

"Koga was right. You're no princess or even heiress, you're just a spoiled little brat! Grow up, Schnee. The world doesn't revolve around your set of values and how you think things should go! Until you learn that, you're going to have a lot of enemies and no friends.," Kazuma told her before walking away.

Weiss became angry and was about to tell him off, but he was already gone.

"💢 ugh, the nerve of that boy! I'll give all of them a piece of my mind later..," Weiss thought.

The heiress turned and saw Yin, the guest instructor at her desk in the classroom. She walked up to her, gaining her attention.

"Um... instructor? You said you wanted to have a word with me afterwards?," Weiss asked.

Yin looked up from her desk with a very serious expression. Weiss wasn't sure if it was the horns and tail or if it was just her power that she was sensing, but she felt intimidated by this new teacher.

Yin stood to her feet and beckoned weiss to follow her.

"Come this way, miss schnee.," Yin said.

Weiss hesitantly did as she was asked to and followed the new teacher outside. Yin turned and spoke after a but of a long sigh.

"Instructor?", Weiss asked.

"I'm disappointed, Weiss. That was a very poor showing back there.," Yin said.

"Poor showing? How so? I beat that creature didn't I?," Weiss asked slightly upset.

"Defeat it you did, but that is beside the point. What was poor was your lack of team work. Team work is a two way street, miss schnee. It takes trust. And you apparently don't seem to have any for your teammates.," Yin said.

"Well, I would if my teammates actually took things seriously! And don't even get me started on that girl who was appointed as leader! She's far too young, and childish, doesn't pay attention to things that matter, doesn't value my opinion, and she sleeps in class! I've studied and trained, and frankly I deserve better than to be on a team led by a child!" Weiss said venting.

"I think Ozpin made a mistake.", Weiss said.

Yin chuckles, she's seen this before. This upsets Weiss before Yin spoke again.

"You think he made a mistake just because things aren't as you see them? Hate to break it to you, Schnee, but the real world doesn't work like that. If you think Ozpin made a mistake.... (puts her hand behind her back, extends her palm forward and slips into a fighting stance) then prove it to me.," Yin said.

Weiss's eyes widened. She wasn't expecting that. Was she really suppose to fight a teacher?

"Hit me as hard as you can, Schnee.," Yin said.

"B.. but I..," Weiss stuttered as she was caught off guard by this.

"Do it! Or weren't you going to prove Ozpin made a mistake not picking you as the leader? Or was that simply just talk?," Yin asked.

Weiss scowled in anger. This may have been her teacher, but how dare this uppity faunus woman say that!

"Even you accept his decision even after seeing how exceptional I am?!," Weiss scoffed.

Weiss withdrew her rapier and charged towards Yin intending to teach her a lesson. Except, the blade of her weapon never reached her teacher. It was stopped by a single finger of Yin's hand. Weiss's eyes widened in shock.

"Th.. that's not... possible!," Weiss said in disbelief.

"Oh, it actually is Weiss. Believe it or not.," Yin said before flicking the rapier out of the Schnee's hand, knocking her off balance.

Yin took a step and threw a fist that looked like it would connect with Weiss's face before stopping. The impact whipped wind a made the ground shatter behind her, forming a large crater.

"You see now? Your skill on the battle field is only matched by your attitude, miss Schnee. ," Yin replied.

"Wha- how dare you!," Weiss said seething.

"My point exactly, miss Schnee. I see someone who has spent her entire life getting what she wants.," Yin replied.

"That's not.. true! Well.. not.. entirely.," Weiss admitted.

Yin spoke again.

"Let's talk this through, Weiss. What's really troubling you? I am a teacher, helping students learn is my job.," Yin said.

Weiss sighed.

"Well...," Weiss began.

With Ruby...

While the rest of her team was looking for her, Ruby sat alone on a bench with tears in her eyes. She didn't understand, why was Weiss so mean to her? And why didn't she want to be on a 'team led by her' ? It was confusing why she was chosen as the leader, and now one of her own teammates hated her.

As she had these questions swirling in her head, footsteps were heard next to her. Looking up, she saw that it was Koga! Ruby quickly wiped her face, as she didn't want him to see her crying right now.

"Thought I'd find you here.," Koga said.

"K-Koga san?" Ruby said surprised.

"Mind if I sit next to you? You look like you could use someone to talk to.," Koga asked.

Ruby felt herself become nervous as she nodded.

"Uh s-sure g-go right ahead, K-Koga s-san..," Ruby said nervously.

Koga sat down and the two were silent for a moment. Ruby was about to say something when Koga broke the awkward and pregnant silence between them.

"So uh... that didn't seem to really go so well back there with you and Weiss, huh?," He asked.

"No... Is she right though? Did Ozpin make a mistake? Am I... unfit to be the leader?," Ruby asked on the verge of tears again.

Koga then surprised Ruby by hugging her, making her cheeks turn a slight tinge of pink.

"That.. remains to be seen, Ruby. But personally, I wouldn't say so. It couldn't have been a mistake to make you the leader.," Koga replied.

"How do you know for sure, Koga?," Ruby asked still looking a little doubtful.

"It's only been one day, 24 hours, since Ozpin chose you as the leader for team Rwby. You can't judge someone as a failure after only 1 day. And besides... the leader needs the team just as much as the team needs the leader. ," Koga said.

"What do you mean?",Ruby asked.

"Being a leader is more than just a title, a position, it's a mantle, a badge, but more importantly... it's a responsibility to others. Your team relies on you for wisdom, like you rely on them for input. The leader doesn't make the team, the team makes the leader. Plus.. if you're not giving it your all, putting your best foot forward, what reason do you give others to follow you?"

"But.. how do I do that?," Ruby asked curiously.

"That.. Ruby, is something only you can answer yourself. The question every leader should be asking is: what can I do to make others around me better? It's a two way street that constantly checks and balances itself. So rather than being afraid of it, if you feel inadequate as a leader, that's what your teammates are for! They exist to help you become the leader they've always wanted. In that respect, I wouldn't consider your appointment as team leader to be a mistake, do you?," Koga explained.

"No... I guess I wouldn't.," Ruby said feeling better.

"It's all about what you choose to do with the role you've been given as the leader. Depending on what you do with that, others will naturally want to follow you whether they agree with your reasons or not.," Koga encouraged Ruby.

Ruby then smiles at Koga, feeling encouraged.

"Thank you, Koga. You seem to always know what to say to me.," Ruby said thanking him.

Koga smiled and chuckled.

"You're quite welcome, Ruby.," Koga replied with a smile.

Back with Weiss...

Yin was seen to be counseling Weiss as they talked.

"So things didn't exactly fall in your favor this time. Is acting in the manner that you have so far going to change the opinion of those in power?" Yin asked.

Weiss finally managed to calm down and looks towards her teacher again.

"So instead of fretting about what you don't have, savor what you do. Hone your skills, perfect every technique, and be not the best leader, but the best person and... the best teammate you can be." Yin told her.

Weiss is seen to be offering a small smile at the words of wisdom from her teacher.

"As for your "issue" with Faunus, we can discuss that another time.," Yin said, surprising Weiss a little.

Weiss looks towards her in surprise.

"Instructor, how did you-?," Weiss started to ask before Yin interrupted her.

"You're not very subtle when it comes to that, miss Schnee. We can discuss that another time though.," Yin said with her finger over her mouth.

With Ruby...

The scene switches back to Koga, still talking to Ruby.

"You've been given a hefty responsibility, Ruby. I'd encourage you to take some time to think about what you will do with the responsibility that's been entrusted to you." Koga said.

"Thanks Koga, I'll do that. Thanks for the pep talk!," Ruby said with a look of consideration before turning and walking away.

"You're welcome, Ruby.," Koga said in response.

She comes to the balcony where Yin is walking away from Weiss, leaving her to her thoughts. The silver eyed girl then smiles a little bit at her partner before walking away from the scene.

Later that evening...

The full moon shines over the green lights of Beacon, and in the room of Team RWBY, the door opens and Weiss' shadow is seen against the hall's light. Blake is sleeping under the covers, Yang is spread out on her bed and snoring, and when Weiss lifts the blanket of Ruby's tent, where she finds the occupant with her head resting on notes, a pencil in her hand, and open books all around her.

Weiss has a look of amazement on her face at the sight of her leader's determination. She clears her throat and gently shakes the other girl awake, who takes a second to regain consciousness and start flailing in surprise.'

"Weiss! I-I was studying, and then I fell asleep! I'm sorry...," Ruby starts apologizing until Weiss interrupted her.

Weiss places a hand over Ruby's mouth and puts a finger to her own so Ruby understands the need for lowering her voice. Weiss looks near Ruby's pillow and spots an empty Beacon coffee mug.

"How do you take your coffee?," Weiss asks in a whisper after lowering her hand.

"I.. I don't..," Ruby started to answer before seeing the look on Weiss's face.

"💢 Just answer the question!," Weiss snapped in a whisper.

"Uh, cream and five sugars!," Ruby quickly answered in a whisper, not wanting Weiss to be mad at her again.

Weiss sighs, realizing she made the younger girl scared of her again.

"Don't move.", Weiss said before ducking underneath her bed before coming back a moment later with the fresh cup, offering it to Ruby. "Here."

"Umm... Thanks, Weiss.," Ruby said a little taken aback by the kind gesture.

Weiss smiles, then looks apologetic as she spoke up.

"Ruby, I think you have what it takes to be a good leader.," Weiss said as Ruby smiled at her in appreciation before she continued. " Just know that I am going to be the best teammate you'll ever have! (The two friends share a smile) Good luck studying!"

Weiss ducks under the bed, only to come up and point at one of Ruby's papers.

"That's wrong, by the way."

She ducks under again, her voice coming from next to the door this time.

"Hey, Ruby?," Weiss asked.

Ruby looks over in response.

"Uh- huh?," Ruby questioned in reply.

Weiss stands at the door with the doorknob in her hand.

" I always wanted bunk beds as a kid.", Weiss said as she steps through the door and into the hall before closing the door.

Ruby, grinning at the progress with her friend, goes back to her notes as scene fades to black.

Outside of the room in the hall, Weiss sighs as she realizes there is one more thing she needs to take care of.

"Right... Only one thing left to do then.," Weiss says to herself .

The Next Morning...

Team Rwby was woken up by Weiss of all people and told to come with her. Even Ruby was a little confused as to what was happening, and she was the leader. Yang had a vague idea, but nothing definite.

"Um... Weiss, where are we going?," Ruby asked.

"You'll see when we get there." Weiss replied.

Ruby turned with a confused look and asked her other teammates.

"Do you know what this is about, Yang, Blake?," Ruby asked.

Yang put a finger to her chin in thought, while Blake just shrugged.

"I... may have an idea, but why don't we just find out together Rubes?," Yang replied.

Ruby made a pouty face at this.

"You're no fun..," Ruby pouted with her cheeks slightly puffed out.

"Relax, Rubes. I think we're almost there anyways.," Yang said.

The all girl team came to a clearing where, team MKKH, MTSGY, and JNPR were all gathered together.

"Thanks for taking the time to be here, everyone.," Weiss said.

The Heiress then walked up to the two faunus teams and much to everyone's surprise... she bowed in apology?!

"You were right, Koga. What I said and how I treated Ruby was very wrong and... I realize that now thanks to a certain teacher of ours. I understand you were the one to get Ruby back on her feet? I apologize for anything inconvenient or rude that I said yesterday." Weiss said in apology.

Koga rubbed the back of his head and sighed.

"You're.. forgiven, Schnee. I uh... also have a confession to make." Koga replied before continuing.

"What I said to you was also out of line and I do apologize for hitting you, that... wasn't cool on my part.," Koga said in apology.

The two then shook hands, a sign that they'd reconciled.

Kazuma spoke as well.

"I was also out of line to say what I did. You're different from the rest of your family, I'll give you that much. Forgive me as well.," Kazuma said joining the handshake.

"I guess this is us "burying the hatchet" as they say?," Koga asked.

Weiss nodded.

"Indeed. It is. And.. I wasn't expecting either of you to apologize... but I'll take it.," Weiss replied.

"Just name your price, Schnee. As... an apology for how things went.," Kazuma said.

"Well.... I guess... for starters, you could call me by my name instead of just "Schnee". I do have a name you know, and it's Weiss.," Weiss said.

"Sure thing, Schne- ahem! I mean Weiss..," Kazuma said.

"And... I guess I can call you, Kazuma instead of just "Ayakashi" as an apology on my part.," Weiss said.

Kazuma nodded and the two of them shook hands. She then turned towards Koga.

"Since, I'm also at fault, I'll do one thing that you ask of me weiss.," Koga said.

"I'll take you up on that offer, Koga. My one favor for you, Koga, is this: It's clear Yourself and Ruby get along quite well... so my favor is this.... Look out for her. You're the one guy our age or.. around our age that I trust with my friend. So make sure she doesn't cry.," Weiss said.

Koga smiled.

"If that is what you wish, I can certainly do that Weiss.," Koga replied with a smile.

Ruby realizing what Weiss just said instantly went red in the face at this and was waving her arms frantically to try and dissuade Koga from accepting that favor.

"W-Weiss! It isn't like that with us!" Ruby said waving her arms embarrassed and blushing.

Everyone was seen grinning and smirking as they knew how close Ruby and Koga could eventually get. Yang teased her sister about it much to her ire as the other teens began to laugh in joy. Eventually, Ruby and Koga smiled after looking at the scene. The scene then pans to a view of the school as the camera then fades to black.

Ending theme:

Ending theme: Akeboshi (Demon Slayer Mugen Train Arc)

Visuals: it flashes the cast introduced so far; Teams MKKH, MTSGY, JNPR, and RWBY all going about their business. The song then transitions to Several Silhouetted beings with Grimm present around them. It switches to the cast fighting off Grimm before Koga is seen to be battling with what appears to be a demon and Ruby running towards and reaching for him.

Hey guys, it's been a minute! But I've finally gotten back to updating this thing lol 😂. I'm just going to foreshadow the first major villain our cast will face off against for a bit and.. it isn't Cinder this time! She may come into play later, but I'm not sure what role she'll play yet.

The two main pairings are locked in: Ruby x Koga and Max x Yang. But maybe you can help me with the other ones:

Blake x Shoryu?

Kazuma x Weiss

Mist x Cardin?

Yukikaze x Sun?

Toshirou x Gwynne

Hon'oo x Yatsuhashi/Neptune?

Pm or leave a comment on some alternate pairings I maybe didn't think about. Until next time guys!
