Dimensional Keeper: All My Skills Are at Level 100

Chapter 861: One Step Mile

"Useless!" Jake roared, his face twisted with anger as his eyes burned with ferocity. His fingers clenched tightly around the shaft of his spear, and his entire body trembled with surging power as he infused it with a torrent of mana.

In an instant, the spear in his grip expanded at a terrifying speed, growing nearly a hundred feet long, its form resembling a coiled, vicious dragon. Mana roared along its surface like raging thunder, and a violent killing intent erupted from it.

With a sudden, ferocious throw, the spear hurtled upward, its image blurring into a phantom dragon roaring through the sky, devouring everything in its path as it clashed with the descending sword.

"Boom!"

The collision was apocalyptic. The hundred-foot spear and the three-hundred-foot sword slammed into one another with an earth-shattering impact. The sound of the clash tore through the mountains like thunder splitting the heavens apart.

An airwave, wild and unrestrained, shot hundreds of feet into the sky, flattening everything in its path. Grass and trees within a thousand feet radius disintegrated instantly, their forms reduced to ash by the sheer force, while distant mountain peaks trembled violently, their ridges cracking as if they would collapse under the terrifying pressure of the clash.

Jake's eyes widened in disbelief as his expression twisted into one of shock and horror. He hadn't expected Max to be capable of such raw destructive strength. 'He's a monster…'

The thought crept into his mind unbidden, shaking the foundation of his earlier arrogance. He had assumed Max to be powerful but still beneath him.

Now, seeing the spear he'd poured everything into locked in a deadly contest with that enormous sword, Jake's confidence faltered.

And then it got worse.

As the two forces continued colliding, Jake's brow furrowed in alarm. The light of his spear—so fierce and overwhelming just moments ago—was beginning to dim. Its power weakened gradually, the once vicious energy slowly dispersing, inch by inch.

'What the hell is happening?' Jake clenched his teeth, fear curling in his chest.

Sure enough, just as the giant sword surged again with unstoppable force, there was a loud metallic crack. The spear gave a sharp clanging sound, then abruptly shrank back to its original size, pulled helplessly from the contest. It spun through the air before flying back into Jake's grasp, its energy almost extinguished.

The giant sword, however, continued its descent like a divine judgment.

"How is that possible?" Jake muttered, his face paling. His eyes were ice-cold, but even that couldn't mask the dread creeping into them. He was a genius of the 7th level of Legend Rank, a man who prided himself on invincibility among his peers.

Yet this attack, one fueled by the pure force of sword concept rather than brute mana, had completely overpowered him.

But Jake's instincts were razor-sharp. Even with the shock still coursing through him, his body reacted without hesitation. He twisted his body sharply, his spear pulling tight to his side, and used the One Step Mile movement technique.

In an instant, his figure blurred into a near-ethereal shadow, his speed surpassing human perception. Like a long, agile serpent, he shot out of the sword's strike zone with impossible swiftness.

The three-hundred-foot sword slammed into the earth where he had stood, detonating in a wave of blinding sword light that turned the ground into a wasteland of craters and broken stone. But when the dust settled, Jake was gone, having narrowly avoided what could have been a killing blow.

Max's eyes narrowed dangerously, his face cold as steel as he glared at Jake. The smug confidence radiating from Jake was infuriating, but what really unsettled Max was the sheer speed Jake displayed through the One Step Mile.

That footwork wasn't something ordinary; it was a movement technique at the peak of perfection, and right now, it made Jake almost untouchable.

Jake, meanwhile, seemed to revel in Max's frustration. He chuckled, the sound crisp and mocking as it echoed in the space between them. "Max, I have to admit, you surprised me. I didn't expect you to have such strength, enough to threaten me. But it's useless—you can't kill me. With One Step Mile, you can't even touch me." His voice carried both arrogance and certainty, his posture relaxed, spear casually tilted at his side as if he already considered the fight won.

Max frowned slightly, his mind racing. Jake's words weren't wrong; speed like that was a nightmare to deal with. Unless he could match it, any fatal strike would be avoided, no matter how strong the attack was.

Seeing Max's expression darken, Jake smirked even more, tilting his head slightly with a mocking look. "Besides, you and I both know the truth. You're not truly this strong, are you? You must have used some forbidden technique, something that forcefully raised your power to match mine. But that kind of power has a time limit. When it runs out…" His eyes flashed coldly as a cruel grin formed. "…it'll be your time to die."

Max's expression instantly twisted into one of forced frustration, a faint tremor in his eyes as though Jake's words had struck him deep. Internally, however, Max sneered. 'What a fool… he really believes I'm using a forbidden technique. Fine, let him believe it—it'll make killing him easier.'

Clenching his jaw, he snarled through gritted teeth, "I will kill you before that happens."

Almost instantly, arcs of azure lightning surged from Max's body, weaving together until they formed a radiant armor of pure energy. The Lightning Manifestation Armour spread across his figure like an otherworldly battle suit, each segment crackling and humming with destructive might.

Sparks flew off its surface as if reality itself was being scorched by his presence. The oppressive weight of his aura surged, forcing even Jake to pause for a moment, his pupils shrinking slightly at the power radiating from Max.

'This lightning… it's dangerous.' Jake instinctively gripped his spear tighter, his usual calm briefly interrupted.

But he had no time to think further. Max's figure vanished in an electric blur, the speed boosted by his lightning concept causing the air to explode with a thunderous crack. In less than a heartbeat, Max closed the gap to a hundred feet.
