Chapter 235: [235] Goblin Slayer Is Absolutely Amazing!

Chapter 235: Goblin Slayer Is Absolutely Amazing!

The screening of Goblin Slayer lasted for nearly three hours, and during that time, every soldier of the Southern Region border guard was fully engrossed in the thrilling adventure story.

From Goblin Slayer's first appearance rescuing the priestess, to the repeated raids on goblin nests, and the addition of new adventurers to his party…

Although the imperial border soldiers had no experience with the life of an adventurer and had never been one themselves, they found it easy to immerse themselves in the story.

They felt as if they had become ordinary adventurers, joining Goblin Slayer and his companions on their mission to eradicate the rampaging goblins.

The entirely new experience brought by the movie far exceeded the soldiers' expectations.

For those stationed at the frontier with little to no entertainment in their daily lives, the movie brought a rare sense of joy and allowed them to appreciate the captivating allure of cinema.

Finally, as the movie's climax concluded with the Goblin King's defeat and the end credits rolled, the soldiers wore expressions of reluctance, clearly wishing for more.

"I never imagined the life of adventurers could be so exciting. Maybe I should try becoming an adventurer after I retire!"

"Get real. There's hardly any monsters to hunt here in the Southern Region. At best, adventurers here would just end up doing odd jobs for people."

"That's true, but outside of the Southern Region, the Empire's other regions—especially the North—are crawling with monsters and creatures. The North in particular is said to be a true graveyard for rookies. Only the most experienced and powerful adventurers stand a chance of surviving there."

"The North, huh… The danger described in the adventurers' lives in the movie almost feels like a reflection of the North's reality. That place borders the Chaos Mountains, and beyond them lies the mysterious Chaos Realm. No matter how terrifying the creatures that appear there are, it wouldn't surprise anyone."

"Compared to other regions, our Southern Region is truly peaceful. Although the untamed lands to the south are dangerous, successive Dukes of the Southern Region have heavily invested in border outposts facing those lands. As a result, they've completely suppressed the periodic monster tides from the untamed lands, ensuring that almost no creatures can bypass the watchtowers and enter the Southern Region."

"That's entirely thanks to the efforts of the Dukes of the Southern Region over the years. The people here have always held the Duke's family in high regard, knowing how hard they've worked for the peace and development of the region."

"Speaking of which, that movie was incredible. If I didn't already know the story was fictional, I might've believed that such dangerous goblins actually exist in the world, and that Goblin Slayer and his team were really out there fighting to eliminate them."

"Exactly! The goblins in the movie were absolutely vile. If creatures like that actually existed in the Empire, I'd be the first to sign up for Commander Wilcliff's monster extermination squad and wipe them all out!"

"And I really want to see what happens next! Is this the only Goblin Slayer movie? Even if there isn't more Goblin Slayer, I'd love to watch other movies too."

"Yeah, to be honest, life on the border is so dull. Our daily routine is nothing but training or counting rocks on the ground. If we could watch movies regularly—no, even just one movie a month—I'd be thrilled!"

"Forget once a month; even once every six months would be enough!"

"Goblin Slayer was just too good!"

"..."

The soldiers' discussions filled the air. For the troops stationed on the frontier, daily life was unbearably monotonous.

Although they carried out their duties with pride and resolve, they still longed for something to break the monotony and make their time more enjoyable.

After watching Goblin Slayer, all the soldiers eagerly hoped to see more exciting films, something to spice up their monotonous daily lives.

Noticing the soldiers' reactions, Captain Brando, standing to the side, couldn't help but reveal a thoughtful expression.

As the eldest son of the Duke's family and the leader of this military camp, he felt he shouldn't be overly concerned with something as trivial as entertainment.

Yet, after seeing this movie, even he, like the soldiers, found himself curious and looking forward to more films.

After all, this movie was entirely different from the stage plays and operas he had seen before. While both told stories through performances, the movie offered a realism and intensity that set it apart.

Unlike the boredom that often accompanied operas, leaving him struggling to stay awake, this movie left him wide awake and eager for more—so much so that he wished he could immediately see a sequel or other equally captivating films.

Of course, there was one thing that bothered Captain Brando: the numerous intimate scenes between his sister and the Goblin Slayer in the movie.

While he understood that it was all acting, and that neither the Goblin Slayer nor his team truly existed, he couldn't easily ignore it.

Ahem. Of course, this was purely out of his duty as an elder brother, with no other ulterior motives…

In any case, after coming back to his senses, Captain Brando turned to Durin and spoke calmly:

"I understand now. So this is what a movie is—a truly novel and fascinating creation. I apologize for my earlier disrespect."

"It's no problem, Captain," Durin replied with a smile. "After all, my purpose in making movies is to bring joy to everyone in this world and to change this dull, monotonous world."

"Change the world?" Brando repeated, his tone mixed with curiosity and a hint of disbelief.

Hearing Durin's somewhat dramatic statement, Captain Brando paused for a moment, then chuckled and said:

"I see now. I finally understand why my father holds such high expectations for you. You're indeed a unique and talented mage. By the way, you mentioned earlier that you came to our camp to find actors. Are these 'actors' the people who, like in the movie we just watched, play roles in the film?"

"That's correct. For my next film, I'm looking for actors who meet my specific criteria, which is why I came here."

"Came here specifically? Why? This is a military camp. Shouldn't you be looking for actors in a theater troupe?"

Brando's confusion was evident, but Durin didn't answer directly. Instead, he gave a mysterious smile and replied:

"As for that question, Captain, I think you'll find out soon enough."
