Seo Baekhan (29), eldest son of Special Assemblyman Seo Hongkyu and Haeun Gallery Director Ahn Yeseon, and Joo Taehyun (22), youngest of four sons and one daughter born to DH Group Chairman Joo Ilwook and Archery Association President Yoo Younghwa, held a private wedding this morning at the Donghwa Hotel in Seoul.
This unexpected union between a prestigious lineage that produced prime ministers since the Joseon era and the DH Group, one of the Daehan Empire’s top conglomerates, has captured the attention of the political and business elite.
According to statements from Assemblyman Seo’s office and DH Group’s PR team, “The wedding was held quietly in the Korean restaurant Hoyeon at the Donghwa Hotel with only immediate family members present. We ask for your understanding as we cannot provide further details due to the personal nature of the event.”

Though same-gender individuals with matching secondary gender traits can legally register their marriage, it remains uncommon. An Alpha–Alpha marriage, in particular, is globally rare. However, the two reportedly became close thanks to their shared traits.
Both founding members of Haechi, a volunteer group for descendants of independence fighters, the two met frequently from a young age and naturally developed feelings over time.
In fact, among Haechi members, it’s said there was no one who didn’t know about the couple’s sweet and adorable relationship.

According to sources, the two had long been close as hyung and dongsaeng before naturally becoming romantically involved when Joo Taehyun consulted Seo Baekhan about transferring to Pyongyang University.
It’s even said they were each other’s first love, and the heart-fluttering marriage of these "true gold spoon" elites is expected to keep trending across social media.

Holy shit their visuals are overwhelming😭😭😭😭 First Yeonhwagung stanning, now I gotta stan a politician–chaebol couple too😭😭
➥ LOL and they’ve never had a single scandal. Both are Haechi members and never got kicked out.
➥ Why would getting kicked out be a thing?
➥ Maintaining full membership in Haechi is strict af. They have annual volunteer quotas and you get kicked for missing taxes lol

➥ And proving you’re actually a descendant of independence fighters? That’s no joke. Even if someone leaves Haechi, that pedigree still earns respect.
How long is that “Special Assemblyman” title gonna last?? How’s it fair that someone like Seo Hongkyu can just keep being a congressman because he was born lucky?
➥ Tbh, being a descendant of independence fighters does mean something. Let the guy live well if he got blessed by his ancestors lol

➥ Bro don’t say that shit in Pyongyang, you’ll seriously get jumped… Seo Hongkyu actually does his job
➥ No lie, not just Seo Hongkyu—his dad, granddad, great-granddad were all GOATs too
➥ Real talk, JTH is probably gonna suffer… Pyongyang folks are gonna act like SBK snatched their beloved boy. Though going by age, SBK is technically the cradle robber lol

➥ Whether it’s Congress or the civil service, being a descendant doesn’t mean automatic special treatment. You have to build an insane resume to pass the independent selection anyway. It’s probably easier to just take the general exam.
Wait, 29 marrying a 22-year-old…? How long were they dating? Isn’t that grooming if the younger one was a minor?
➥ Bro it literally says they got close while discussing a school transfer…

➥ Yeah what’s wrong with two consenting adults getting married? Royals and chaebols always marry young
➥ You mad about a 7-year age gap when that face, physique, and resume are literal hacks?? I'd take that over any lazy incel neckbeard lmao😭
“It’s already up? That’s earlier than expected.”

Seeing the news tab glow faintly on Joo Taehyun’s phone screen reflected in the window, Baekhan asked casually. Taehyun nodded without hesitation.
There was a time when even leaning in this close to him would make Taehyun flinch. Had he gotten used to Baekhan’s presence now? Or did he grow bolder with age—two years older and somehow more shameless. Maybe both.
“Most of the responses seem okay. I haven’t read all the comments, though.”

“Okay? A 29-year-old marrying a 22-year-old and people are okay with that?”
“Well… the fact that we got close through Haechi—no one really seems to want to criticize that.”
Fair point. No one’s crazy enough to throw shade at a couple that bonded through independence volunteer work. Still, the public reaction being so positive felt… unexpected.

“A grown-ass man marrying someone fresh out of college, and people are just chill about it? You don’t think the PR teams padded the comment section?”
Murmuring with honest suspicion, Baekhan noticed Taehyun biting his lip and lowering his gaze. His expression didn’t change much, but Baekhan had learned to recognize that face—Taehyun made it whenever he wasn’t sure how to respond.
“…Twenty-nine isn’t that old.”

“Yeah, well, I’m closer to thirty and you’re barely past twenty. Compared to you, I’m obviously an old man.”
“But still—”
Leaning deep into the seat, Baekhan tilted his head back. He hadn’t brought up the age gap expecting a full debate anyway.

Perhaps sensing that his legal husband had no intention of dragging out the conversation, Taehyun fell silent and simply stared out the window.
With their conversation cut off, the music in the car came into focus—Elegant Ghosts, from Marc-André Hamelin’s recent recital, a piece Baekhan had been fond of lately.
Preparing for marriage with Joo Taehyun had been… like that piece. Smooth. Uncomplicated.

They skipped all the annoying parts of a wedding with well-crafted excuses.
Taehyun’s siblings seemed a little dissatisfied, but it felt more like the grumbling of older siblings wanting to look out for their youngest than any real objection.
Taehyun had filled their home with elegant, vintage pieces—nothing flashy, but tastefully selected.

Since they’d be living together for possibly over a decade, at least their tastes aligned.
Curious about the still and silent Taehyun, Baekhan glanced over to find him gnawing his fingers out of sheer nerves.
As usual, Baekhan felt no discomfort with silence, but Taehyun still clearly didn’t know what to do with it.

Baekhan thought back to the day a twenty-year-old Taehyun had come out of nowhere and asked him ❀ Nоvеlігht ❀ (Don’t copy, read here) to marry him. Back then, too, he had tried to give him space—waited for him to bring it up first while flipping through a gallery catalogue. Meanwhile, Taehyun had torn into the soft flesh beneath his nails, just like now.
“I want to marry you, hyung.”
“…I heard you were meeting Alphas for potential matches.”

“…So, I thought if that’s the reason… I might be the best choice for you.”
He had admitted that he used to like Baekhan, but claimed that was in the past—and that he had started taking the Switch because he preferred being topped by other Alphas now. That for the sake of his… romantic—or rather, sexual—life, Baekhan should use him as a spouse. That he’d be useful. All said with barely-moving lips, right in front of him.
Looking back, Taehyun’s poker face back then had been terribly unrefined.

I still like you, hyung.
I’ve never stopped liking you.
What good was a melancholic blank face when his whole body was practically screaming those words?

“Hyung, I just got a message from my sister. My parents said they’ll get in touch when they’re free later, so I should go to the States first and meet them afterward.”
“Yeah. Same on my end.”
He hadn’t actually checked, but the situation was likely similar. His notification bar was exploding, messages from family already buried by waves of others. If even they were struggling to keep up, how much worse for their parents?

Not to mention, most of the names flashing past weren’t welcome ones. They’d explicitly requested no gifts, but people still deposited money as if their sentiment mattered more.
True friends understood how awkward accepting money would be and didn’t try—but the lukewarm acquaintances? Couldn’t resist jumping in.
Even a rough scan of the stacked previews made Baekhan sigh. Delete one notification and another popped up just like it. Why say “no gifts please” if you’re just going to ignore it?

“Taehyun. Did you get a bunch of assholes sending money without asking too?”
“Yes. If I don’t accept, it’ll cancel automatically, right?”
“Probably?”

He tossed his overheating phone aside into the seat, and Taehyun mimicked him without hesitation. Baekhan could tell he was doing it consciously while pretending it was subconscious—and somehow, he didn’t even mind.
Honestly… Baekhan had stopped caring.
His thoughts hadn’t changed much since the beginning. Whether Taehyun still had feelings for him or not didn’t matter—as long as he behaved wisely like this.

If Taehyun could act like he had no lingering feelings, if he could keep things clean and take whatever benefits were to be had—then Baekhan wouldn’t care if he continued to love him secretly or even jerked off to him in private.
In fact, that behavior was starting to look more and more like Baekhan’s ideal version of a spouse.
“What time’s your flight tomorrow?”

“Around 11:40 a.m. It got delayed.”
“Didn’t you say your boyfriend was picking you up? Guess you’ll be with him tonight, then.”
