chapter 14 - Man-Eating Wolf (3)
The next day, ChiYoung decided to go back to the hospital.
Heesung had refused to sleep with him again. Seeing the wolf asleep, the puppy quietly slipped off the bed and slept on his fainting cushion in his own room. Even when ChiYoung woke and carried the puppy back on the cushion, Heesung couldn’t fall asleep again, worried.
‘What if he has another pheromone shock?’
Though asleep, ChiYoung’s breathing was occasionally rough from pain. Worried, the puppy licked his cheek and lay across his eyes like a blindfold. Only then did ChiYoung breathe steadily and sink into a deep sleep.
By lunchtime, the puppy brought ChiYoung’s medical card in his mouth to take him to the hospital.
Thunk.
“Why? You want to go to the hospital?”
‘You have to.’
Resolute, the puppy responded. Though it had caused some trouble with ChiYoung’s kisses, the puppy, its fur all ruffled, fled to his room and shifted back into human form. Whether in human or puppy form, enduring ChiYoung’s aggressive affection was hard.
Wearing new clothes, Heesung took ChiYoung to ✪ Nоvеlіgһt ✪ (Official version) the hospital. As his guardian, it was natural.
At the hospital, ChiYoung went again to get the pheromone suppressant shot. Though his pheromone level had dropped to 1,013 yesterday, today it had surged back to 1,083. The doctor was shocked at how much it had risen in just one day.
Heesung felt a little guilty. He was responsible as guardian and had followed the precautions as best as he could but hadn’t expected it to rise so much.
‘I thought just easing separation anxiety would be enough. Do we really have to have sex?’
He shook his head vigorously at the thought.
Having sex with ChiYoung? Forget the size difference, just recalling that he was a man-eating wolf made it feel far away. Heesung felt strange even thinking that and quickly shook his head to clear it.
At the end of the hallway, Heesung spotted someone standing.
‘Why is that bastard here again?’
It was Yang Hyechan. Heesung tensed inwardly but tried to act nonchalant, standing in the hallway. After their last encounter, he was ready to respond if Yang tried to start anything. After all, Yang had tried to kill ChiYoung and was an enemy to him, too.
Yang just sneered faintly at Heesung without any other moves.
Still, Yang muttered something into his phone, like he was talking, though Heesung couldn’t hear. It made Heesung uncomfortable.
Better to kill time where Yang couldn’t see. Heesung spoke to Jiyoungbae, who was the only one who had come with him to the hospital.
“Hyung, can I go get some juice?”
“For what purpose?”
“To drink.”
Heesung thought about using it as a weapon but stayed silent because of his past mishaps.
Jiyoungbae glanced at his watch, nodded, and moved steadily with Heesung. It would take at least 30 minutes for ChiYoung to come out of the isolation room anyway.
The café was on the first floor. Heesung told the counter ChiYoung’s name and got orange juice. Strangely, just saying his name got him any menu.
He handed juice to Jiyoungbae, who declined politely—it was technically paid for by ChiYoung—and they sat on a sofa chatting quietly. Jiyoungbae stubbornly stood diagonally behind Heesung, making the conversation a bit awkward.
“How did a Gwinin like you end up working with wolves?”
“Director Yoon hired me personally.”
“Really? How?”
“I... killed a wolf clan member.”
Heesung’s black eyes showed confusion at the unexpected answer.
It seemed he was hired for his skills, but the process felt a bit delicate. Heesung sipped juice, eyeing Jiyoungbae carefully. Killing a wolf? Suddenly Jiyoungbae’s large, solid physique gave off an intimidating aura.
“……?”
Noticing Heesung’s cautious gaze, Jiyoungbae patted his head gently. Heesung guessed this was a sign of affection—after hiding in his pant leg last time, Jiyoungbae seemed to like him. Still, he stayed silent. Heesung also didn’t mind much, knowing Jiyoungbae was a good older brother figure.
Then Heesung spotted something odd outside the window.
‘…What’s that?’
Outside was a well-kept riverside walking path, beyond which were upscale neighborhoods and the city.
But on the path stood a familiar figure—a yellow dog. It stared directly at Heesung. It could be a stray, but the reason it felt familiar was purely instinct.
A dog from the gambling den.
Heesung stood and headed outside, eyes locked on the dog. Jiyoungbae, in human form, circled nearby. Feeling reassured by him, Heesung was about to enter the parking lot.
Snap.
Jiyoungbae bit his collar to stop him. Heesung stopped, staring at the dog in the dim parking lot. The nearby narrow road was unusually deserted.
It was better not to enter the parking lot. The gambling den dogs were here.
Six large Gwinin, all gambling den guards, were present. They knew Heesung well but had only bad memories. They often beat him or took their frustrations out on him.
One guard, scarred on his forehead, spat and said,
“Traitor bastard.”
Heesung’s expression hardened fiercely. Though he expected misunderstandings from the clan for disappearing suddenly, he hadn’t expected a trusted friend to try to trick him like this.
The gambling den guard warned,
“You think you’re safe betraying the pack and siding with wolves?”
“Damn, who’s betraying whom?”
Heesung snarled, but the guards didn’t budge. They firmly believed he was a traitor.
‘Were they trying to kill me without the wolves knowing?’
The reason they used a friend to lure him was clear—to kill the traitor without angering the wolves.
The guard told Heesung bluntly,
“Heesung, admit your betrayal before we kill you here.”
Among the Gwinin who valued loyalty, betrayal was the worst crime. Though they didn’t have watchers like the wolves, traitors always paid the price. The Gwinin gang crippled one limb of the traitor.
But Heesung wasn’t scared despite knowing this.
Now that he was here, he had to get some information. He spoke to the guards arrogantly.
“Did Park Guntae order you to kill me secretly from the wolves?”
“Answer us first.”
“Your info network sucks. How’d you know I was with wolves?”
Heesung shamelessly asked. The guards threatened,
“We know everything a traitor does. Surrender.”
Ignoring them, Heesung tilted his ear and pondered. Compared to wolves, the Gwinin were disorganized. If they knew about him, they must have a separate informant.
“…Who else is cooperating with that idiot?”
Heesung scowled, but the guards lost patience.
“You mutt!”
Two guards transformed into Tosas and lunged at Heesung. The fighting dogs, as big as Heesung, bared sharp teeth and tried to bite his neck. Heesung instinctively raised his arm and ducked.
Bark!
Two Tosas were lightly subdued by Jiyoungbae biting them. But two more Tosas appeared and targeted Heesung. It all happened in an instant.
‘No.’
By the time Heesung noticed, sharp Tosa fangs were right in front of his eyes. He instinctively thought to run, but he knew turning his back was more dangerous. He had to either block or fight, even if it meant losing a limb.
‘Too close.’
Grinding his teeth, Heesung stretched out his arm with all his might, planning to grab a Tosa and throw it to the ground. One limb would be bitten, but he had to stop at least one attacker.
Sharp fangs seemed about to tear Heesung’s shoulder apart. Instead of panicking, he welcomed the bite and tried to grab its throat. Just as the new clothes brushed against the sharp fangs—
Thud!
Two wolves suddenly lunged in from the side and tore the Tosas apart. The distressed Tosas howled in pain, and the few survivors hurriedly tried to flee. The entire scene unfolded in an instant, and Heesung took a deep, tense breath as he looked around.
Before he knew it, a silent pack of wolves, more than twice the size of the Tosas, had gathered. Unlike dogs, wolves make no sound when ambushing prey. Baring their teeth, the wolves charged at the gambling den dogs.
‘How did the wolves even get here?’
Heesung scanned the surroundings in surprise. It was one thing for wolves to gather here, but the scene before him filled him with dread. Sweat dampened his black hair, which clung thinly to his forehead.
This wasn’t the usual dogfight he’d seen with pit bulls. It was a one-sided hunt by predators. The wolves bit the legs of fleeing Tosas and pursued them relentlessly. Heesung cautiously took a few steps back, catching his breath.
At that moment, someone suddenly yanked Heesung forcefully into their arms.
“Ugh...!”
Startled by the sudden strength, Heesung swallowed hard and turned to see who it was.
It was ChiYoung, eyes unstable and breath ragged from running hard, looking disheveled unlike usual.
“ChiYoung...?”
“Heesung.”
His gray eyes, with vertically slit pupils, made his voice feel unusually chilling. His low, rough breaths sent shivers down Heesung’s spine. Eyes wide, Heesung gripped the arms tightly wrapped around his waist.
Their eyes met, and ChiYoung stared blankly. Heesung’s gaze fell on ChiYoung’s unusually bloodshot eyes. The wolf bit down on his fangs with effort, seeming to struggle even to speak.
“Why do you keep disappearing suddenly like this?”
Though his voice held concern, there was something off. His grip tightened so much that Heesung felt the heat radiating from his skin when he touched his hand. Surprised, Heesung’s eyes widened.
Something was wrong. ChiYoung looked dangerously unstable, on the verge of another pheromone shock.
Forgetting his own near-injury just moments ago, Heesung placed a hand on ChiYoung’s shoulder.
“ChiYoung, are you okay?”
ChiYoung met his gaze with a smile that only made him look more terrifying.
“Yeah, I’m fine. Because I found you.”
“Just calm down first. I wasn’t trying to go far…”
“I want to calm down too…”
ChiYoung smiled shakily, took a deep breath, and swept back his disheveled black hair. His reddened eyes revealed long, black claws. His body was signaling it wanted to shift back to his original form.
Heesung hugged him tightly, doing everything he could to calm him. He knew this always helped lower ChiYoung’s pheromone levels.
Suddenly, a rough, beast-like growl whispered into Heesung’s ear.
“You almost got hurt again... How am I supposed to calm down?”
“......”
“Huh? Heesung. Answer me.”
Heesung’s face froze in surprise. He realized that ChiYoung feared more the idea of Heesung disappearing or being hurt, curled up alone in some alley. The last time Heesung was hurt, ChiYoung’s sobbing before fainting was proof.
Black cars soon pulled up in front of them.
They were from the wolf organization. ChiYoung held Heesung tight as they climbed into the back seat. Despite the strength, Heesung quietly followed.
Heesung’s eyes trembled nervously, looking up from ChiYoung’s arms.
The car sped toward home.
ChiYoung gasped painfully with each breath, recalling his wolf form made Heesung freeze, but he stayed close, holding him.
Yet none of Heesung’s attempts to soothe him with words or touch worked. The quiet fear inside Heesung grew stronger.
He had no idea how he made it home. Only when inside his own territory did ChiYoung finally focus and look into Heesung’s eyes. Winter’s early sunset cast a dim light around them as they locked gazes.
“Honey...”
ChiYoung, trying to calm down, smiled like a sigh and called Heesung. But up close, his gray eyes looked strange, his words were thick with growling beast-like sounds, sticky and raw.
“If you keep disappearing like that, I think I’ll really go crazy.”
“I wasn’t trying to run away from you.”
“Yeah, I know. I know...”
ChiYoung forced a smile, his lips trembling and his fangs showing. Heesung stared at him strangely and backed away a few steps.
Leaning against the wall, Heesung pinned his dog ears back tightly, and his white tail curled nervously.
ChiYoung hugged him tightly and whispered,
“I’d rather get hurt myself...”
“......”
“If someone hurts my puppy again, I’ll really go crazy.”
Though gentle words, Heesung felt a chill. It was like the neck of a man-eating wolf was gripping him. His whispered words sounded out of control.
But Heesung didn’t want to fear him. After all, he had been the one making ChiYoung unstable. ChiYoung was just sick for a little while now. Clenching his trembling hands, Heesung tried to speak normally.
“I won’t do it anymore. I won’t get hurt.”
“No. You’ve already done it twice...”
ChiYoung’s hot breath brushed Heesung’s neck. Heesung lowered his head and rested his forehead against ChiYoung’s shoulder, feeling the heat radiate from every touch.
He began to understand why ChiYoung was so anxious.
‘Heesung, Heesung...’
He remembered ChiYoung’s unusual anxiety after his first transformation into a wolf and Heesung’s disappearance. That desperate look made him feel guilty. ChiYoung was his kin, or perhaps more.
“Calm down.”
Heesung understood his anxiety. He was the only one for ChiYoung.
Even if the sly wolf’s words had a hint of cunning, Heesung knew there was always half-truth in them.
“I’m not going anywhere. I’ll never leave you.”
Hearing this, ChiYoung buried his face in Heesung’s neck and chuckled darkly. He seemed to doubt Heesung’s words. The hug tightened.
The situation worsened. ChiYoung’s fangs grew longer. Each breath sounded like boiling rage. He was losing control.
If Heesung didn’t calm him now, another pheromone shock could hit.
“ChiYoung...?”
Heesung lifted his head from ChiYoung’s arms.
His puppy ears twitched nervously, his eyes glistening with tension. In front of him were ChiYoung’s tired, gray, painful eyes.
He wanted to calm him—not just from responsibility, but from a deeper, affectionate feeling.
Hesitating, Heesung gently returned the countless affections he had received.
He brushed ChiYoung’s smooth jaw with his lips and carefully kissed the side of his mouth. Compared to before, it was almost playful. His tongue barely brushed ChiYoung’s lower lip.
“......”
That was enough to widen ChiYoung’s eyes. The normally steady wolf’s tail fluffed to twice its size. Heesung’s heart quickened, excitement tingling through his neck.
Heesung pulled back his lips first. ChiYoung’s ragged breathing slowed slightly. His hands remained frozen holding Heesung’s waist. Only his black wolf tail flicked like an antenna.
Heesung gathered courage and said,
“Calm down.”
“......”
ChiYoung’s blurry eyes slowly focused on Heesung. His vertical pupils sharpened. He tilted his head slowly, smiling through fang-exposed lips.
“...ChiYoung?”
Heesung’s kiss seemed to backfire.
“Hngh...!”
ChiYoung launched a barrage of kisses like a storm. Heesung tried to calm him but ChiYoung was clearly not himself. His clothes tore as they were stripped away, and his large hands gripped Heesung’s small hips tightly.
Though trembling with fear, Heesung relaxed as ChiYoung didn’t bare his fangs at him. He closed his eyes and returned the kiss. If it helped lower ChiYoung’s pheromones, it was worth it.
No, it was okay as long as it was ChiYoung. With that thought, Heesung gave himself fully.
Heesung always wondered: did this cunning wolf really like just a small puppy, or did he like Heesung himself? Or was it all just a game?
But the doubt faded fast. Seeing the smile on ChiYoung’s lips as their tongues mingled, Heesung realized even this worry was exactly what ChiYoung wanted. He also thought there was no stopping him.
“Hngh...”
Knowing it was inevitable, Heesung tightly closed his eyes and pressed his hand against ChiYoung’s firm chest.
ChiYoung stepped closer, trapping Heesung against the wall. As Heesung’s head tilted back and their tongues intertwined, the shadow of wolf ears loomed overhead.
Heesung gasped, trying to push ChiYoung away by his shoulder, but ChiYoung stood firm. Instead, he pressed one thigh between Heesung’s legs, gently squeezing his groin.
“Don’t... press so hard...”
Heesung gasped with flush lips. Because his heels were raised, his thigh was stuck tight between his legs and he couldn’t move. ChiYoung wrapped him tightly like a snake and fiercely sucked on his ear.
It felt exactly like being bitten by a heat-crazed beast.
It wasn’t an exaggeration. Below, ChiYoung was softly rubbing his swollen front, while the growling predator breaths unnervingly crept into his ear.
Was he going to shift back into his wolf form?
Though scared, Heesung also felt responsible. If he were hurt by the man-eating wolf, the most despairing person would be ChiYoung.
“Don’t... turn into a wolf.”
“Yeah, don’t.”
ChiYoung licked his white collarbone and chest, laughing softly. He didn’t seem to understand, just seemed happy Heesung said it. As he sucked strongly on the small chest tip and pulled off Heesung’s pants and underwear in one move, it was obvious.
“Hah, hngh...!”
Now wearing just a loose long-sleeve tee, Heesung’s white hips were exposed.
Cold air brushed his pale thighs as ChiYoung’s hot hands landed there. His large hands fondled the soft thighs teasingly, greedily trying to grab one small butt cheek. The pervert. Surprised by this unexpected teasing, Heesung cursed and braced himself on the stone-hard arm.
Though his pupils trembled with tension, he tried to speak fiercely.
“If you turn into a wolf, I won’t do it.”
“What do you mean, won’t?”
ChiYoung growled low. He unbuckled his belt and pulled out his fully erect cock. Thick veins twisted along the tight shaft, and the base was swollen, ready for knotting. Seeing a cock as thick as his own forearm, Heesung’s expression hardened like never before.
“You need the puppy to let you free, or you won’t transform.”
Unbothered, ChiYoung took Heesung’s hand and guided it to grip his cock. It was enough to excite him as ChiYoung frowned and let out a rough breath.
“Ah, haa...”
ChiYoung moaned, stroking Heesung’s hand like he was masturbating. After a few strokes, clear fluid dripped from the tip. Heesung’s shocked eyes fixed on the puppy-sized glans.
Heesung pressed his dog ears back and looked up at ChiYoung.
The expression was that of a big wolf pup, smiling darkly despite the heat. He might lose his mind soon.
Heesung’s face grew serious. Acting out of duty, he moved his hand clumsily but his fear showed in his hesitant voice.
“Are you really going to put it inside me...?”
ChiYoung laughed maniacally through heavy breaths.
“Why?”
“I don’t think I can.”
Summoning courage despite embarrassment, Heesung said he was sure he couldn’t take it.
“No, you can.”
ChiYoung insisted nonsense. He looked lost, his gray eyes faint and wild. Something was definitely wrong. When Heesung loosened the grip on his arm, he moved quickly.
In that small gap, Heesung tried to slip away like escaping.
But ChiYoung lightly caught him and pushed him onto the bed. Wearing only a long-sleeve tee, Heesung was forced down, hands on the mattress, face down.
