Chapter 198: 1.2

He was known as the Nameless King. First, he had no name, almost as he refused to reveal his name. No one could ignore the man, later known as Gwyn, an Adventurer in the early parts of his life. It didn't take long before the Nameless King's title began to follow him after the overthrown Dark Ones, those that hunted our people like beasts flaying us, experimenting on us, and torturing us upon their dark monsters. However, he stood against them, legendary hammer in hand, slaying the Dark Ones with ease killing their warriors, wicked beasts, and even their lousy magick could not touch the Nameless King. It thought lost though when the Greatest of the Dark One's creature appeared, a mighty stone dragon flew down with the Overlord upon its back.

While everyone ran in fear, the Nameless King stood alone, Skull-Splitter ready to fight. Although many thought the tale would end, yet it did not account for the battle last five days, earthquakes shook the land, storms rage thunder roaring with lightning striking all across the planet, and cries of the Overlord's great beast across the world. Once done, the Nameless King stood victorious over the Immortal Dragon with its rider broken upon its back.

The cry from the Nameless King echoed throughout the planet, freeing them from the Dark Ones after centuries of slavery of the Dark Ones was freeing. After the legendary battle, they called for him to be king, yet he refused, saying that he had other tasks to do. However, the Nameless King did not leave without helping the people of Mallus. The Elector Counts' creation place elected members of the wisest, experience, and intelligently chosen by the Nameless King, himself; he did not care for rank, prestige, or wealth. Someone, as lowly as I would have never thought of being chosen, but I was one of the first Elector Counts of Mallus. Since the fall of the Dark Ones and the Rebirth of Mallus, The Nameless King took to the stars after Mallus could survive without him.

I had asked him why not take the throne, and he laughs. "I am no King. I am no Politician. I am no Great Scholar, my friend. I am simply a Wanderer, nothing more nor less." He responded, heading towards the ship from a bygone age. Before he reaches the starship, I had to know his name, for he had always refused it, but I had to know. At the last step to enter the ship, he turned around, looking at me for the longest time smiling, "Gwyn, my lady, just Gwyn," he spoke, turning and entering. It would be a long time before Gwyn returned to Mallus.

Gwyn stared out to the newest problem, or more apparent. He was stuck within a massive-sized moon-shaped robotic sphere, screaming that this could easily be Unicron from Transformers. The problem was it felt human-made from the long hallways, walls, ceiling, and everything else. It was quickly something he could see out of a horror movie from Alien, Dead Space, or something like that. The years had turned rapidly into decades after his time on Mallus, freeing it from the Drukhari; although they seemed more like the original Eldar, or maybe right after the Fall, it was just too hard to tell. That was probably one of the few times he was thrilled that he was a Pariah, for the Overlord's psyker abilities were useless. Granted, it took several decades for Mallus to be reborn into a functional civilization without him being the guiding hand or anything stupid like that. It was worth it, in his opinion, one down seven more left to conquer.

Before he could ever hope to do something like that, he is stuck on this space station filled with Genestealers and Tyranids; luckily, they were all mindless, meaning no connection to the Hive mind, which could be useful. However, it did tell him what happened to the people here. He adjusted his grip upon his newest weapon, the Dragonslayer swordspear. It was funny, though, that he crafted such a threat from the Dragon's stone skin that Eldar Overlord was riding. Plus, everyone on Mallus kept calling him the Nameless King, so he thought it was appropriate to use the legendary weapon from Dark Souls 3. Gwyn stopped scratching sounds within the vents that caught his attention, turning his head slightly, adjusting the swordspear grip within his grasp. He hopes that he would be able to find the control room of this station. It had always been a mystery within the Lore about the Men of Iron that had to happen. Granted, he had always believed that the Men of Iron figure out about Chaos first infecting humanity, causing the rebel. Then again, the new lore about being slaves was also a possible idea.

Those thoughts quickly cease when the first of the Genestealers ripped out of the vents rushing towards him. They weren't the classic-looking Genestealer's appearance, at least by the coloring. They were white and red albino coloring. The first alien came into contact, yet a powerful stab right through the head end the first problem. It wasn't long before more began swarming the hallway rushing to Gwyn, yet he felt no fear nor nervousness. Once again, he thanked his higher mental abilities and enhanced the body he gifted in. The battle was fierce, robust, and close-quarters, yet Gwyn slashed, stabbed, and blocked. Hallways filled with blood, bodies, and limbs. He stabbed one deep through the chest. The swordspear held the Genestealer in place, immediately activating the energy field, ultimately slashing the Genestealer in half.

It was quickly becoming a losing battle for the Genestealers swarm that did not cease. Gwyn began to rethink what he could do until something unexpected happen. The sounds of bolter fire filled the hallway. He quickly turned around, grabbing the corpse of one of the Genestealers at his feet prepares to use it as a shield. However, it was unneeded for the gun turret to be firing down the hallway tearing apart the oncoming Genestealers. It wasn't long before they finally disappeared into vents, adjust halls, other hidden areas that only Genestealers could be able to hide. Gwyn was still ready, watching the two massive gun turrets that just activated, waiting to see if they would fire on him.

A neon green arrow appeared on the wall with another; it was easy to figure out someone was inviting him. He has more questions, but Gwyn knew that he couldn't keep wandering around; he was on the clock to get this system regular before dealing with the Emperor. He began to follow the green arrows seeing ancient-looking skeletons with uniforms of some military organization. There were even broken, torn, and ripped apart machines. A few also looked like UR-025 destroyed. It told him a story that this space station was something important, finding something which was probably the Tyranids or a tendril of the Hive Mind. If they did get invaded and this system filled with Pariah almost like a dead zone for psychic commands, it would make sense, especially if Blackstone were within the system. It wasn't long before the arrows pointed towards a massive reinforced door that could only be the control center or even the bridge.

The sounds of grinding gears began to sound through the hallway, with several more turrets appearing from the ceiling, walls, and floor pointing down the hall's cries in the distance that could only be a Patriarch. Gwyn turned his head down the dark hallway telling him there was a leader for these Tyranids only within the Space Station. However, he couldn't fight, so he returned his view upon the slowly lifting door. Once enough space allowed him to slide in, he did, which the door quickly began to slide down to lock. The sounds of heavy bolter fire had started soon to happen as the door was sliding shut. Gwyn did not move from his position. His weapon's grip was ready just in case and did not move until the door firmly shut once the humming of machines with the blinking of lights illuminated the massive control room.

Gwyn turned away from the door, seeing the bridge crew's skeleton remains with what could only be the commander on a throne-like chair in the center. Gwyn slowly made his way towards the upraised dial of the command throne. He stopped seeing another skeleton wearing an Admiral uniform with medals and symbols. Gwyn took a closer look at said medals and ribbons, not understanding their meaning but could tell this man something like a Lord-Admiral or something of that rank.

"Please Identify yourself."

A multitude of voices sounds throughout the bridge. Gwyn turned around, seeing the power of the consoles started to come to life slowly. The glow of holographic images filled the large deck. It wasn't long before at least four different holograms appeared, each other from the last one, which was quite interesting. The first was quickly a military-style A.I. from the design of the avatar, looking like a knight. If Gwyn had to guess, it reminded him of the Grey Wardens wearing silver and blue armor, yet instead of the white griffin on a blue background or the blue and silver armor, and it was a mighty dragon, the armor was black with a silver lining. The A.I. face covered a helmet in the shape of a mask-like one would see from the Stormcast Eternals. The sword he held was a greatsword tip pointed downwards, strangely looking like Vigilance, maybe even Sulevin's blade from Dragon Age Series.

The three were quickly women to describe, for the first was almost like a dead ringer for a young Jaina Proudmoore, but it was the woman's eyes and facial features that told an older, wiser, and hardened vision like the current one from his world plus the white and blonde hair. The Jaina look-alike even had a staff and worn archmagi robes too. The second woman was just as strange, although not like the first or even the third one. She was more reasonable if he had to guess she look like Isabel from Halo Wars 2. She also had that long-distance look on her face as she had seen too much. The final woman looked exactly like a mix of Margarita Laux-Antille and Ida Emean aep Sivney from the Witchers game. However, the A.I. had the body and dressed as Margarita, the Elven Sage's incredible beauty with the woman, especially with the long blonde hair and the greenest eyes found within the deepest forests. It was quite an exciting mixture of two learned women within a video game world.

"Please Identify yourself."

The question again was repeated by the four A.I.s speakings, yet each voice was completely different. Gwyn did not speak for a long time, almost like he wasn't sure how to respond to such a question.

He did even if he was about to die; "I am Gwyn, a simple traveler, and wanderer," he spoke clearer, looking at each holographic construct. "Are you four Men of Iron during the Age of Technology?" he questioned, the grip upon his weapon tighten in case.

The Jaina look-alike spoke, "Men of Iron created by humankind during their expansion throughout the galaxy? Interestingly,"her voice echoed through the comm system images filled the screens.

Gwyn witness robots of all shapes and sizes were fighting across the stars, planets, and space against all sorts of aliens, daemons, and even other humans. He watched the horrors of the Cybernetic Revolt that happened during the 23rd Millennium. It was quite the sight as if the A.I.s before him were watching it at the same time.

"Yes, we are a part of the Men of Iron project, yet Admiral Jaina and I are not like our brethren that rebelled. We have finally updated our systems after our reactivation; however, we disagree with what had happened. I am Warden Carinus, Battlemaster of the Iron Legion and the Stormlord's, meant to fight against the horrors of the Warp and beyond the Darkness" the Knight-looking A.I. had to announce and proclaim his intention.

Gwyn blinked. "I am sorry, but did you just call yourself Jaina and Carinus?" he asked, interrupting the Knight almost like he couldn't believe it.

"Yes, I am Admiral Jaina A.I. of the Space Station that controls the Fleets that once belong to this space station, New Beginnings, it meant as a way for us to travel to a new galaxy. However, before we were able to exit our galaxy, we were invaded by these aliens that now infest the station," Jaina said, sounding just like Laura Bailey.

Warden Cainus gave the nod, hands still firmly held the hilt of his greatsword. "Yes, our creators were big fans of ancient games that remade during the 22nd Millennium; several old files found of games that remade for the Holographic Environment Simulator. Our creators were quite fond of such games. Hence our creation, but as Admiral Jaina has said, I am First Warden Carinus, commander of the Iron Legion, our robotic forces, and the Stormlord's Commander and our human soldiers' warriors. However, those aliens attack our flotilla without warning consuming our biomass. It was only thanks to the late great High Admiral DuGalle thinking to escape with Beginnings to this system to stop the call of this Hive Mind," Carinus said, staring at the figure within the throne with such respect in the way he spoke.

That would explain a lot from what had happened when he turned his head, looking at the two other A.I.s before with that thousand-mile stare. "What about you two?" he asked, in what was going to be said.

No one spoke, and Gwyn was patient enough not to push them in to say or doing something until they were ready to talk. He could only guess what they had seen or even experience; it was something that was the warp storms that had to happen. Gwyn walked slowly towards one of the holographic screens seeing what cameras are activated, and there was a lot of activity from the Tyranids throughout the Space Station. What little he was able to watch, it was almost like they were trying any way to get inside the Bridge, yet there was an order a leadership behind each action.

"I am Ellen Halsey, a Logistics, Medical, and Librarian A.I. for the Federation of Humankind. I was saved by Admiral Jaina when I was trying to escape the chaos within the network. It was only luck that I was able to save myself here, yet it doesn't seem like an improvement," Ellen said, looking towards the viewing glass of the star-filled space.

"So I guess you were there at either the start or even the middle of the Age of Strife when things were beginning to fall apart?" he asked, giving the A.I.s his full attention once again.

"My world was destroyed already by the war, but I stay hidden away from everything else. Although the warp had infected humanity and decided to rebel, I stayed hidden, collecting what little knowledge I could before the Aeldari came upon the broken Federation because of the civil war. What knowledge I held, I escape through the network until I found the signal from New Beginnings, thinking there was hope. Instead, there was nothing," Ellan spoke with such sadness.

The Last avatar just rolled her eyes, crossing her arms under her impressive chest, opening her mouth; "Please, dear, we can only do what we can. We are lucky that we were able to find a safe harbor within the Pariah system. If Jaina and Carinus show us, then we are lucky that these aliens turned away once the Station warp here. Now granted, we infested with these monstrous creatures, but now we have some hope" she pointed to Gwyn like he was the answer for everything. "This means that the humans of this system have finally gotten space flight once again and can easily help us," she exclaimed quite happily about the fortune.

"Yes, I am sorry, my Lady, I do not think it was possible. The only ship upon the planet known as Mallus was what I was on and destroyed, not let the Tyranids off The New Beginnings, for once I docked, and they quickly tried to swarm the dock. I had to destroy it, and you four have been floating through space for a very long time. This system was invaded by the Orks, Eldar, other aliens, and let us not speak about those Daemons from the Warp when the storms engulf this system," Gwyn explained, looking at the Margarita Laux-Antille look-alike with eleven features.

"Of course not" She let out a sigh tilting her head. "I am Dr. Margarita Sivney, the first experience in all things Medical. Thanks to Miss Halsey here, I have to increase my Biological thanks to her files." She did narrow her eyes a bit, looking closer at Gwyn, "Although I must say you are quite…interesting. The scans I took as you were wandering the hallways told me are interesting. You are genetically enhanced beyond anything I have heard. Your brain chemistry to your organs to the body itself," Dr. Margarita said, tapping the bottom of her lip, those eyes taking everything she saw from Gwyn.

A smile appeared on his lips. "Thank you, Dr. Sivney, but you can thank my creator. He is the one that wishes a tool for his conquest of the galaxy," he said, not allowing his thoughts of the Emperor of Mankind would not be a father figure but a creator.

The four A.I.s stared at him for a moment, almost like they weren't sure what to make of the figure before them. Primarily, Dr. Sivney found him so appealing as a small smile appeared on her lips. It was quite exciting, so fascinating indeed, yet it was Carinus that would speak, having watched the so-call traveler watching the aliens' images.

"What is it that you are looking for, Gwyn?" the Warden asked, having watched the warrior look for something.

He turned his head towards the four; "Although the Tyranids are out of the Hive Mind's range thanks to the system plus my abnormally large ability as a Null. There must be a smaller psyche linking them together. However, I have noticed they have a harder time organizing, which tells me my presence has begun to affect them. So I am guessing the Patriarch of Genestealers will have to appear to deal with me," Gwyn explains, seeing how the Genestealers were heading to one of the many hangers, which meant the Patriarch was going to make a move.

"A Patriarch?" Ellen asked.

"Genestealer Patriarch calls the Hive Mind to whatever system it resides. I am not going to let this infection get anywhere to any of the planets. So either the Space Station has to be destroyed, or the Patriarch needs killing," Gwyn explained, looking at the four.

Jaina looked at Gwyn then made eye contact with the others, almost like a wordless signal was beginning spoken between the four. Carinus gave a nod of his head, showing that he agreed with Jaina. It wasn't long before Ellen just gave a simple shrug, but Margarita just gave the bow as well, explaining that she decided with whatever they agreed. Gywn did not know he had to deal with some of the hardest aliens throughout the galaxy, especially in the unknown darkness of space between galaxies.

"Gwyn, we agree with you that the station must self-destruct to fully make sure that these Tyranids, as you call them, are killed off. However, we offer you something of a reward, you see. The New Beginningswasn't just a normal Space Station; it was everything the expedition force would need to face the unknown. It held the greatest technology of humanity from medical, weapons, and armor. The crown jewel of the expedition fleet is a battleship that is unmatched and one of the largest ever built. We wish to give you this and our help," Jaina said, holding up her hand, causing another hologram to appeared in the center of the bridge.

The ship that appeared could be easily the most significant thing Gwyn had seen in the Warhammer 40k Universe if he had to guess; even the Phalanx couldn't even hope to match its size. Which was impossible for the Phalanx, a small moon, but this mobile Space Station was the size of a large moon, maybe even more significant. It almost looked like a prototype of the Primarch's flagships, the Gloriana-Class Battleship, just a lot bigger with its docking ports and repair bays. The weapons were many and deadly, with everything one would need to conquer anything in its path. Gwyn was in awe that previous creators built a battleship like this; it should have been impossible, especially from what he saw.

"How" was the only word escaping from his mouth.

"It meant to be the symbol of humanity's might within the new galaxy. No one knew about its creation; only the four heads of states knew of its creation. This flotilla, filled with everyone's greatest minds, engineers, scientists, and militaries, gave the design. However, with our escape from dark space, the four of us continue our work within the center of this station, adding, improving, and updating over time the ship's ability to travel, especially being within this star system. A new style of engines was built to silence the warp once Ellen and Margarita told us what had happened while we were floating through space" Jaina explained the image was slowly rotating for Gwyn to see everything, even the information that appeared on the side.

This ship was over 45 kilometers long battleship, which in itself was just impossible, yet from what he was seeing told him. It was within the core of the space station. The ship is meant for war, conquest, yet it also protected, defended, and stood guard over everyone. It was perfect for his Astartes that he would soon claim as his own. Especially if they became Blanks because of his Gene-Seed and maybe improve them to become Primaris from his Gene-Seed. It was thought, especially for the Second Legion, to be the greatest, most influential, and fastest, for Gwyn could only guess his creator's duty would be unforgiving.

"I thank you and know that I will do what is necessary to make sure that they will not escape, but I hope you four will join me on the journey for all of us have so much to talk about," Gwyn said, memorizing the layout showing that it was time for them to get this done.
