Chapter 200: Chapter 199
Qian Ran had anticipated this.
Dai Huabin hated him to the core. While he didn't dare act openly at Shrek Academy, he'd certainly take every opportunity for underhanded schemes. Plus, given Zhou Yi and Mu Jin's ongoing rivalry, it was only natural for Mu Jin to find reasons to trouble Zhou Yi.
"Are you scared?"
Qian Ran smiled. Zhou Yi had always been bold in their escapades, readily playing along whenever they sought excitement.
"If our relationship gets exposed, I don't mind so much, but it'll harm your reputation," Zhou Yi replied softly, a touch of melancholy in her gaze.
Qian Ran felt a warmth in his heart. Zhou Yi was genuinely considerate; even now, she was thinking of him.
"Mu Jin doesn't have any evidence, so she won't dare spread rumors. She wouldn't risk her job to gossip baselessly about a colleague," Qian Ran reassured her. Without proof, Mu Jin would likely restrict herself to petty taunts.
"But it seems like Mu Jin is quite sure about us."
"Huh?"
Qian Ran was surprised. He was always careful to keep a watch on their surroundings whenever he was with Zhou Yi. Despite appearances of risk, there was no real danger involved. He just enjoyed seeing Zhou Yi's expressions as she teetered between fear and pleasure, her resistance and attraction clear on her face.
"It's all your fault for always ruining my stockings, forcing me to change them constantly," Zhou Yi grumbled. She had to replace her stockings frequently, sometimes several pairs in one day.
Since being with Qian Ran, her visits to clothing shops had become far more frequent.
Mu Jin only needed to observe her stockings to pick up on something.
Although it was only Mu Jin who noticed, Zhou Yi still felt deeply embarrassed.
"Ahem. That's all it took?"
Qian Ran hadn't paid much attention to this. Zhou Yi's stockings always looked fairly similar, so unless someone was actively looking for it, they wouldn't notice she had changed them after each outing.
Only a long-standing rival like Mu Jin would be meticulous enough to notice such details.
"What did you expect? Mu Jin would love nothing more than to see me get into trouble," Zhou Yi replied with clear resentment. She no longer had any interest in Fan Yu, so if Mu Jin wanted him, she could have him. Fan Yu looked good but lacked substance, not to mention he wasn't even attentive at home.
Right now, Zhou Yi was solely focused on Qian Ran, wholly devoted to him.
"Changing stockings isn't evidence. It's not as if she's caught us red-handed," Qian Ran said nonchalantly, unconcerned.
"I still think it'll catch up to us, and with her watching so closely, how am I supposed to see you?" Zhou Yi replied, looking troubled. She wasn't so much afraid of being exposed; she knew Mu Jin disliked her, but she wouldn't spread rumors without proof.
Still, Mu Jin's presence made it much harder to spend time with Qian Ran.
Especially in the office, it was nearly impossible.
Even if she wanted to do a dorm check at Qian Ran and Wang Dong'er's room, it was a lot more complicated now.
"What if I deal with her myself?" Zhou Yi suggested, remembering Mu Jin's smug expression and sharp words from this morning. The idea of taking her down felt satisfying.
"Pfft."
Qian Ran nearly choked. But then he thought about Mu Jin, and it did stir something in him.
Both Mu Jin and Zhou Yi had been renowned beauties in the outer courtyard back in the day. Although their talents weren't the very best, their ability to stay on as instructors was proof that their skills were still formidable. In terms of ability, there wasn't much difference between Zhou Yi and Mu Jin; they just weren't quite on par with the most elite geniuses.
If Mu Jin and Zhou Yi had focused entirely on their cultivation, they wouldn't be far behind some of the weaker disciples in the inner courtyard.
"Should I just bring her here and let you take it out on her? I'd love to see how she'd handle it then," Zhou Yi said, recalling how Mu Jin had accused her of seducing Qian Ran to earn her advanced teaching position.
She and Qian Ran were genuinely in love, nothing like Mu Jin's claims. If Mu Jin were to lose her own virtue, would she still have the face to criticize her?
"No, no, let's not get carried away here. We can talk things through calmly," Qian Ran chuckled. He might be flirtatious and prone to indulgence, but forcing someone was out of the question—that was too crude.
Still, Mu Jin was indeed an enticing prospect, and her long-standing rivalry with Zhou Yi made things interesting.
If he could bring them both into his circle, seeing the two of them both compete and cooperate for his sake sounded rather intriguing.
Mu Jin was as attractive as Zhou Yi, and she was still pure.
In his year at Shrek Academy, Qian Ran had already formed several "sets" among the female students in the outer courtyard.
The first set consisted of Jiang Nannan and Tang Ya, whom he had won over from the Outer Courtyard's "Twin Stars," the most beautiful senior students in the outer courtyard.
The second set included Jiang Nannan (alias Wang Dong'er), Ning Tian, and Zhu Lu. Together, they embodied the traits of the legendary beauties of Shrek Academy from a thousand years ago, and their company brought him endless joy. Ning Tian was already in his grasp, waiting only to be claimed.
The third set was made up of the beauties in his class: Dong'er, Zhu Lu, Xiao Xiao, Wu Feng, Ning Tian, Cui Yajie, Lan Susu, and Lan Luoluo—seven lovely girls in total. When the time came…
And the fourth set consisted of Zhou Yi and Mu Jin, the stunning homeroom instructors of the outer courtyard.
Everyone knew that the pleasure of spending time with one "set" increased proportionately with each additional member. Unlocking a full set was a uniquely fulfilling experience.
That feeling was something only those who had experienced it could understand. Unfortunately, for now, Qian Ran could only make progress in the outer courtyard; he hadn't had many chances to reach the inner courtyard yet. But someday…
"Don't tell me you've been planning this all along? You'll probably end up treating her better than you treat me," Zhou Yi said, a hint of regret in her lowered gaze. She couldn't help feeling somewhat inferior when comparing herself to Mu Jin.
"Don't let your thoughts run wild. Didn't you give me your first time?" Qian Ran teased with a wicked grin, his gaze drifting to Zhou Yi's curvaceous figure.
Zhou Yi's cheeks flushed red at his words. What he said was true; she had given him her heart, and she always took great care to clean up before coming to see him, ensuring she was immaculate.
After a bit more comforting, Qian Ran managed to dispel her concerns. A woman in love is easily reassured; a few comforting words from her beloved, and she would feel a renewed sense of security, disregarding any uncertainties.
The one fortunate aspect was that Qian Ran was indeed a reliable partner. Though he enjoyed his flirtations, he wouldn't want any of those close to him to truly suffer.
Zhou Yi left, swaying her alluring figure as she did.
That seductive walk would undoubtedly spark a man's desire, but when Bingdi saw it, she felt distinctly displeased.
Bingdi was aware of Qian Ran and Zhou Yi's relationship, and she also knew how interested Qian Ran was in Zhou Yi. She couldn't understand why Qian Ran was so captivated by women with particular backgrounds. Why did he have to take what belonged to others? Was this just a thing with men?
