Douluo Dalu 2: Heavenly Eyed Douluo

"What?!" Huo Yuhao exclaimed in shock. A heavy frown formed on Mu En's wrinkly face as he swiped his hand, teleporting them away.

In a scalding hot room, the concrete walls were glowing red from the oppressive heat. Flames licked at the air, emanating from a figure writhing on a stone platform in the center of the room.

"Hmmm....!"

Ma Xiaotao long eyebrows knitted into a painful frown as her body was engulfed in red flames tinted with black, her soul power running rampant. The Evil Fire within her has started going rampant once more.

Fortunately for her, her red Shrek uniform was specially designed for her Evil Fire or else she would've suffered a very embarrassing event.

"Xiaotao!" Huo Yuhao called out in distress, shocked by her unstable state.

Both Yan Shaozhe and Xuan Zi turned towards Mu En, as the most powerful and experienced among them, they looked to him for guidance.

"Hm." Mu En's sharp gaze swept over Ma Xiaotao's trembling figure, analyzing the situation within her body with a calm precision.

"As expected. Her martial soul has grown stronger due to her hard work and your help, Yuhao. But as her martial soul grew stronger, so did her Evil Fire." Mu En said after a moment of analysis.

"But Huo Yuhao's Ultimate Ice should've suppressed her Evil Fire and with how much time they've spent together beforehand, unless she utilized her fifth and sixth soul skills consecutively in a short amount of time. However she hadn't!"

Per her punishment, Ma Xiaotao had to go to the Soul Engineering Department to learn some of their lessons—which unexpectedly brought her great benefits on how to counter people with Soul Tools. But that wasn't important right now.

What was however, was that for around two months she hadn't extensively used her martial soul nor had her cultivation increased much! So it didn't make sense for her Evil Fire to erupt.

"The issue here, Shaozhe." Mu En said, and explained. "Is that her martial soul had grown stronger than before, meaning her Evil Fire is more unpredictable than ever. By my analysis; the Evil Fire has become somewhat intelligent and it bided its time for when Ma Xiaotao was at her weakest."

What? That could happen?! Huo Yuhao was shocked. This was the first he'd heard about such a thing to happen.

But Xuan Zi and Yan Shaozhe didn't look too surprised, having learned and witnessed a lot about Martial Souls for decades, they had expected such an event to occur. But they didn't expect Ma Xiaotao's martial soul to be it!

"Teacher, how can we save her?" Huo Yuhao worriedly asked.

Mu En calmly rubbed his beard and said, "Why it's simple. You're the one who's going to save her."

"How?"

"First, you have to infuse your light element with your life energy—this would result in a temporary emergence of the Holy element. You infuse the Holy element with your Ultimate Ice, and after that you start cultivating with Ma Xiaotao." Mu En explained.

"If it goes right; purifying her Evil Fire and the resonance with your Ultimate Ice, Ma Xiaotao's fire would finally step into the realm of Ultimate Fire!"

The eyes of Yan Shaozhe and Xuan Zi lit up in excitement. How could they not? For the last ten thousand years, soul masters with an Ultimate martial soul have only appeared three times, four including Huo Yuhao! That was how rare it is.

Now there was a chance for Ma Xiaotao to achieve such a breakthrough, ascending her Evil Fire into the realm of Ultimate Fire. The very thought of it filled Yan Shaozhe, her teacher, with pride and joy.

Considering her original talent and cultivation speed, it wouldn't take her long to achieve Titled Douluo within the next few years! Imagine that, a Titled Douluo with an Ultimate martial soul.

'Wait, since when did Huo Yuhao have the light element?' Both Xuan Zi and Yan Shaozhe realized this, the former was especially baffled.

He'd seen Huo Yuhao used his mysterious third martial soul to raise the dead, how could he have the light element? That don't make any sense!

Huo Yuhao stared at Mu En in surprise and said, "The steps that teacher said are quite.... difficult. Couldn't you inject Holy energy into my Ultimate Ice yourself?"

His Light element wasn't like everyone else's, it was light element that was converted to be used for Necromancy. It wasn't as pure as others and there would likely be problems arising during the conversion to the Holy element.

Mu En looked up towards him and lightly shook his head, "It's because your Light element is special that it increases the possibility to purify her Evil Fire and help her breakthrough."

"How..."

Huo Yuhao was going to say something when Yan Shaozhe interrupted him by clasping his shoulder and said, "Well, no need to hesitate Yuhao. Since teacher said so, then you just have to trust him."

"Oh, and if you're struggling about how to proceed with the process of cultivating with Xiaotao....here." Yan Shaozhe took out an ancient scroll and placed it on Huo Yuhao's hands.

Huo Yuhao blinked. "Uh, dean Yan? What's this?"

"Hmm. It's something very~ important, so read it when you're ready to help Xiaotao." Yan Shaozhe smiled innocently.

'He's up to something.' Huo Yuhao realized when seeing that smile.

Mu En, who long understood his student's thinking process, shook his head in disappointment and said. "Alright. Little Xuan, little Yan. Both of you leave. I will be guiding Huo Yuhao on how to convert his Light element and Life energy into Holy energy for a while. After that, the rest will be up to him."

Yan Shaozhe and Xuan Zi nodded understandingly and left.

"Yuhao, take a seat." Mu En said.

"Yes, teacher."

Huo Yuhao went to one of the corners of the hot room, its intense heat taking no effect on him as he sat in a cross-legged position.

"This won't take long. Considering your talent, listening and demonstrating it once should be enough for you to grasp the basics," Mu En said with a faint smile, his wise eyes glinting with pride.

Huo Yuhao nodded, closing his eyes and preparing to concentrate. He had complete trust in his teacher's guidance.

Though he was still going to consult Electrolux when Mu En leaves the room. It wasn't like he was going to peek at them, right? Right?!

Huo Yuhao is just going to place his trust in Mu En as a respectful elder.

For about half an hour, Mu En guided Huo Yuhao step by step, his calm and patient tone emphasizing every crucial detail of the process. Huo Yuhao absorbed the teachings like a sponge. His extraordinary comprehension abilities were on full display.

"Now," Mu En finally said, "try it yourself. Draw out your Light element and merge it with your life energy. The process might be tricky at first, but once you've felt the resonance, it will come naturally."

Huo Yuhao nodded, and with a deep breath, he began.

His spiritual sea stirred from his third eye. He could feel the presence of Electrolux hiding within and didn't disturb him. He pulled onto the Light element within him, it had a strange grey aura—which marked its ties to necromancy: the aura of Death.

Huo Yuhao was a little apprehensive but Mu En already knew about his abilities so he started intertwining his Light element with the Life energy within his body without any hesitation.

As he guided the energies to merge, there was a brief moment of resistance before they gradually aligned, forming a glowing golden stream of Holy energy.

'So this is Holy energy?' Huo Yuhao was amazed by the warm sensation coursing through him. The Holy energy radiated a purity and warmth that seemed to contrast sharply with the aura of Death tied to his Light element.

Huo Yuhao couldn't believe that it had worked. But thinking about it deeply, it shouldn't be a surprise.

Before Electrolux became the most fearsome Calamity Necromancer, he was known as the Scion of Light—a top genius of his previous world that basically possessed Ultimate Light; which certainly had the Holy attribute.

Huo Yuhao inherited Electrolux's necromancy so it stands to reason that cultivating his Light element might also awaken traces of the original purity Electrolux once wielded as the Scion of Light.

'It seems that even with the aura of Death intertwined, the foundation of Light within me retains its potential for purity. Perhaps Electrolux's legacy is more complex than I realized.' Huo Yuhao thought to himself.

Mu En nodded in satisfaction. "Good. It seems to me that you've already understood it. Now go and help Ma Xiaotao, we've let her wait for too long."

"Yes, teacher!" Huo Yuhao hurriedly stood up and placed his right fist on his chest. Since he only had one arm, Huo Yuhao decided on this gesture to show respect to others.

Mu En nodded and wheeled himself out of the room, saying. "I'll see myself out. It seems to me we have another uninvited guest..."

He muttered that last bit with a cold glint in his eyes.

Huo Yuhao nodded and turned towards Ma Xiaotao, her entire body exuding with her Evil Fire with black veins snaking along her fair skin, a clear indication of the evil fire's rampant state. Her breathing was labored, and her face was twisted in pain as the flames danced chaotically around her.

"Xiaotao..." Huo Yuhao murmured, his heart aching at the sight of her suffering. He had just stepped forward when he remembered about the scroll that Yan Shaozhe gave him earlier.

"What is it exactly?" Huo Yuhao muttered as he took it out and unfolded it. The first few letters he saw were in clear view.

"Spring Autumn Scripture, Yin-Yang Blossoming of Hearts. Cultivating this technique requires at least one male and one female of two opposing elemental martial souls to..."

The more he read, the more his face turned red.

"Perverted old geezer..." Huo Yuhao cursed as he folded the scroll and hid it in his storage belt.

He wasn't going to use such a perverted method! Not when Ma Xiaotao isn't in her right mind, he didn't want to take advantage of her.

Huo Yuhao was many things, a rap**t was not one of them!

He suddenly became worried about Ma Xiaotao's safety for being Yan Shaozhe's student.

"I'll think about it later! For now, I have to help Xiaotao." Huo Yuhao muttered as he gathered the Holy energy and activated his second martial soul.

In an instant, the entire room's temperature dropped tremendously. Black ice formed around Huo Yuhao's feet, spreading outward in intricate crystalline patterns. The Ice Jade Empress Scorpion tattoo on his back glowed jade-green as a small projection of Ice Empress's true form came to life behind him, almost filling the entire room, its chilling aura quickly suppressing Ma Xiaotao's rampant Evil Fire.

Against the Ultimate Ice, even the flames of an Evil Phoenix couldn't fight against it.

Huo Yuhao sat cross-legged in front of Ma Xiaotao, their knees almost touching.

"Xiaotao, I'm here," he said softly, hoping that she could hear him.

Unfortunately for him however, Ma Xiaotao's eyes snapped open. Her once brilliant, marvelous red eyes turned entirely blood red.

"Raaaaa!"

Ma Xiaotao tried to lunge at him but deep freezing black ice already froze her legs stuck on the ground.

Undeterred, and obviously driven mad from the Evil Fire, she started thrashing with her arms—trying to get to Huo Yuhao.

Huo Yuhao scowled fiercely and started communicating with Electrolux and both Ice Empress and Snow Empress about the next step.

"Xiaotao, don't worry. Everything's going to be alright."

"Raaaa!!"
