Douluo Dalu 2: Sun-Moon Glory

Chapter 133: Chapter 131: Youling Nana

"Big Brother, should we go look for Little Dong now?"

Hearing his younger brother's simple and honest question, the Azure Bull Python just let out a cold chuckle.

"Heh... Third Brother never said when we needed to complete that task. If the emperor himself isn't in a hurry, what are we, the eunuchs, rushing for? We can visit Little Dong anytime we want."

"You're absolutely right, Big Brother."

And so, the two men—grumbling in their hearts—sat right back down at the table and leisurely continued drinking and eating meat.

"Tang Si."

"Here."

Inside the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineering Academy, Huo Yuhao stood before Tang Si with a solemn, dignified expression.

Tang Si's grim face matched that seriousness. His dark eyes flickered faintly with a dull golden hue.

"This mission is of utmost importance. You must complete it with everything you've got. Understood?"

"Understood!"

Looking at the stiff, over-serious Tang Si, whose big round eyes made him look like a summer camp recruit from his past world, Huo Yuhao couldn't help but find the combination of gloom and intensity a bit… bizarre.

"Ugh, I'm done playing."

He felt like he was talking to himself, yet also not—almost like having a conversation with another person who was him. If this went on, he might actually lose his mind.

In any case, Huo Yuhao's plan to infiltrate the Holy Ghost Church using his second body—Tang Si, the Death Sovereign—was officially about to begin. Over the past few days, with the nourishment of soul power, Tang Si's potential as a Death Sovereign had started to awaken slightly, giving his eyes that dark, eerie golden gleam.

Unfortunately, none of the truly terrifying talents of a Death Sovereign, as described by Electrolux, had manifested yet.

The one that struck Yuhao the most was a fearsome innate ability: "Death Is the End of All Things." It was said to stem from the Death Sovereign's eclipse-like attribute—once per day, as long as a full day passed, the ability could be used.

Its effect? Instant death for all living beings within a certain range. A soul-based attack so absolute that only beings with extremely high soul protection or soul realms surpassing the Death Sovereign's could resist it.

In the mortal world, only Electrolux in his prime could survive such an attack. Beyond that? Only gods.

This made Yuhao suspect the Death Sovereign might be somehow tied to a god-level position that didn't exist in the God Realm—possibly even the God of Death.

"Well... to wield such a broken ability, Tang Si would need to be a complete Death Sovereign. Right now, he's nowhere near that level."

Yuhao sighed regretfully and stopped dwelling on it. He simply controlled Tang Si's body to leave the current area.

At the same time, Yuhao himself lay back down in his bedroom, getting ready to fully immerse himself in the operation. The first stage of infiltration was always the most critical. He didn't want a single misstep due to mental multitasking.

He had cleared his schedule for the next few days, using closed-door cultivation as an excuse. Of course, Jing Hongchen and Meng Hongchen knew the real reason.

When Jing Hongchen saw Yuhao's investigation results—pinpointing several Holy Ghost Church nests right inside Mingdu—he was absolutely furious.

"That bastard Xu Tiannan really is a wolf in human skin."

Yuhao could still remember the intense rage on Jing Hongchen's face—his narrowed eyes gleaming coldly, his expression twisted with fury. Maybe once, Jing Hongchen had been a loyal supporter of Crown Prince Xu Tiannan, drawn in by the vision of a unified Sun Moon Empire. But now… not so much.

After voicing his concerns about Yuhao's safety, Jing Hongchen firmly endorsed the plan to infiltrate the Holy Ghost Church and promised to provide all the necessary resources for Tang Si's cover.

Back in the present, Yuhao continued wandering through the Sun Moon Empire as Tang Si. He used undead magic to conceal himself—after all, Tang Si's body wasn't alive. For an undead being, hiding from the living was basic instinct.

The next question: how to infiltrate the Holy Ghost Church?

He couldn't just walk into a random outpost and say, "Hey, I want to join you guys!" That would only get him tossed into the lowest ranks—if not killed outright. The Church had strict hierarchies. Trying to rise up without showing off or relying on connections? Pure fantasy.

More importantly, Yuhao knew little about the Church's internal structure, whether in the original timeline or this one. The best plan would be to find someone already inside the Church who could help him get in smoothly.

And he knew just the person—someone already within the Academy and already affiliated with the Holy Ghost Church. Though her status wasn't high, she was still the best option.

Tang Si moved like a ghost through the academy. It was a weekday, and just as class ended, a long mid-morning break had begun. Students bustled about, full of youthful energy.

Strangely, not a single one noticed the black-cloaked figure walking openly among them.

Using the undead ring both he and Tang Si wore, Yuhao linked his soul power remotely and activated spiritual detection to assist Tang Si.

Soon, Tang Si narrowed his eyes and locked onto a target, quietly heading in that direction.

"Nana-jie! Are you free right now?"

"Nana-jie, how do you solve this question?"

"Nana-jie!"

In the direction Tang Si was headed, a beautiful young woman was strolling across the plaza in front of the teaching building. She had a delicate, youthful face and a smoking hot figure, tanned skin that radiated vitality, and a laid-back, flirtatious aura.

Students swarmed around her like bees to honey. Clearly, this student named Nana was incredibly popular. Given her sunny disposition, easy smile, and stunning looks—it made sense.

Tang Si silently followed behind her, his glowing golden eyes locked onto her back like a hunter tracking prey.

At that moment, despite the cheerful smile on her face and her friendly chatter with the students around her, Nana felt her skin crawl. Every hair on her body stood on end.

As someone with a ghost-type martial soul, she had an acute sense for things related to evil, souls, and other ghostly entities. And right now, something very wrong was following her.

Author note: In the original story, it was briefly mentioned that the Mingde Hall had ties to the Holy Ghost Church. But let's be real—that was just Tang San's side demonizing their enemies. A serious soul tool research institute like Mingde Hall working with the Holy Ghost Church is nonsense.

In this story, we'll assume they're completely unrelated. Even if some connection exists, Jing Hongchen is totally unaware of it.
