Douluo Dalu: Stealing Through The Heavens

Chapter 99: Once Again Copying Tang San's Tactics

Time in dreams always feels short.

A certain comedian from Earth once said: "Life is short. Blink, and a day is gone. Close your eyes for good, and your whole life passes by."

Time quickly moved to the third day.

In the early morning, as the first rays of sunlight shone through the mist and touched Zuzong's face, he slowly opened his eyes, stretched his arms, and let out a comfortable yawn, ending his night-long cultivation.

"This Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well is truly extraordinary. After absorbing the Infernal Delicate Apricot and the Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass, not only has my physique greatly improved, but even my cultivation speed has increased significantly."

By the previous evening, Zuzong had already awakened. Although the pain before he lost consciousness was still fresh in his mind, the rewards were significant. Despite not having acquired his fourth soul ring and thus not increasing his soul power, he could clearly sense the immense energy within him. Once he absorbs the soul ring, gaining four or five levels beyond his current level 41 wouldn't be difficult.

Zuzong raised his right hand, and a faint white light appeared on his skin. Soon, the deep blue-black Blue Silver Emperor with golden patterns emerged in his hand.

As he channeled his soul power, Zuzong's right hand extended two Blue Silver Emperor vines, which submerged into the red and white springs of the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. Surprisingly, even the springs that Poison Douluo Dugubo, a titled Douluo, dared not touch had no effect on the vines. Instead of being harmed, the vines thrived, growing more vigorously than ever.

Seeing this, Zuzong's lips curled into a mysterious smile. "It seems that even the original Blue Silver Emperor has gained fire and ice immunity without needing to enter the extreme flame state."

As he spoke, Zuzong's right hand infused more soul power, and the Blue Silver Emperor transformed into the Extreme Flame Blue Silver Emperor. The vines turned red, and their temperature began to rise.

The red hot spring water remained unaffected, but the icy white spring water began to warm up, showing signs of merging with the red spring.

Zuzong was startled. "How hot must this Extreme Flame Blue Silver Emperor be now? It can even merge the distinct red and white springs. It seems to have reached the level of Ultimate Fire, or perhaps even beyond it."

Retracting his martial soul, Zuzong smiled with satisfaction. Now, he needed to deal with the trouble from the old poison master. Without overcoming his challenges, he wouldn't be able to claim the vast amount of immortal herbs here.

Zuzong muttered to himself, "It's likely that the old poison master will poison me. But with my Nine Yang Divine Technique and the absorption of the Infernal Delicate Apricot and Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass, even though I haven't fully absorbed them, I'm almost immune to all poisons."

With a thought, Zuzong released his Eight Spider Lances, which shot out rapidly. He sensed that Dugubo had already arrived.

Seeing Zuzong appear, Dugubo raised an eyebrow and asked coldly, "Kid, did you eat the herbs here?"

Zuzong smiled and responded with a question, "Senior Dugubo, didn't you say I could use the herbs here freely?"

Dugubo waved his hand, a cold gleam flashing in his eyes. "I don't care what you've taken, but if you can't withstand my test, you will still die."

Zuzong nodded. "Then let's proceed."

Dugubo said coldly, "Kid, I know your fire poison is strong, and it seems to have some devouring properties. So, I won't beat around the bush. I'll use my Jade Phosphor Snake's venom directly on you. If you're not ready, I can give you another day; otherwise, not even I can save you."

Zuzong nodded, showing no fear. He thought, "I'm standing right next to the Beautiful Silk Tulip herb, so release whatever you want."

Zuzong clearly remembered that while the Beautiful Silk Tulip couldn't neutralize poisons, it was a poison counteracting herb that could balance out any toxins. Not only could it counter Dugubo's venom, but it might also suppress his own fire poison, which originated from the "Gold Emperor Incinerating Heavenly Flame" and had strong devouring, high-temperature, and destructive effects.

This annoyed Dugubo. He had considered giving the kid a way out at the request of his granddaughter, but Zuzong didn't seem to appreciate it.

With a vicious determination, Dugubo's soul rings rose from the ground, nine in total, swirling around his body, though no pressure emanated from them this time.

Seeing the magnificent nine rings, Zuzong couldn't help but marvel inwardly. "As expected of a titled Douluo, his aura is completely under control. Too bad there's not a single red ring among them."

Dugubo's nails slowly lengthened, eventually reaching three inches, sharp as spikes, with a green glow and a hint of rainbow hues.

"Kid, there's a path to heaven, but you chose hell. The poison I'm about to use is beyond my control. If you can't survive, we'll meet in the next life."

Zuzong's expression turned serious. This old man wasn't following the original story. In the story, he used milder, controlled venom against Tang San. But now, he was using his ultimate venom right from the start against Zuzong.

Gritting his teeth, Zuzong pretended to dust off his shoes, subtly grabbing a bit of the Beautiful Silk Tulip herb.

He boldly stepped forward and extended his right hand, saying, "Bring it on!"

Dugubo didn't hesitate, thrusting his venomous claw, glowing green, into Zuzong's right hand.

Dugubo certainly didn't hold back; the claw pierced all the way to Zuzong's bone before stopping.

As the venom injected into him, black energy spread through Zuzong's body.

Without delay, Zuzong flipped backward, landing beside the Beautiful Silk Tulip herb, and sat down to meditate, activating his Nine Yang Divine Technique to refine the venom. Simultaneously, his blood circulated rapidly, releasing the full potency of the Infernal Delicate Apricot and Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass.

Seeing Zuzong enveloped in black mist, Dugubo sneered, thinking the kid was courting death. Yet, he couldn't help but feel a pang of regret. It was a pity to lose such a talent.

Dugubo turned to leave, thinking about how to explain this to his granddaughter.

Before he could take a step, Zuzong's voice rang out, "Senior Dugubo, where are you going?"

"Hmm?" Dugubo turned back, shocked to see Zuzong glowing with red and white light. As the light faded, the black mist around Zuzong vanished, and even the wounds on his arm healed, leaving only faint red marks.

"Kid, are you a human or a ghost?"
