Douluo Dalu: The Legend of The Spider Emperor

Chapter 10: Chapter 10: What Do You Think of Ye Hao?

Before long, not long after Tang San arrived. Ye Hao lazily approached the two.

"Master, can we set off now?" Ye Hao yawned. It was the first night since his arrival in this world that he couldn't sleep well.

Though he was already a soul master, who wouldn't want to sleep in a bit longer? As he thought about hunting soul beasts today, Ye Hao rolled around in bed, excitedly fantasizing about what his first soul skill would be.

Ye Hao had considered it. At the very least, he hoped for a hundred-year soul beast. A thousand years was too much to dream about, what if he ended up exploding from the pressure?

Each soul ring has an absorption limit, and one must respect the science. One shouldn't aim too high, thinking that the first soul ring can be from a thousand-year beast.

Wrong! This would only bring danger. Isn't it better to stay alive? Why seek death?

Survival is key!

Being penniless and powerless. Ye Hao didn't have the support of a Title Douluo father like Tang San nor a powerful background; it was better to keep a low profile.

Grow steady, don't be reckless.

The Master took a deep look at Ye Hao, then nodded. He climbed onto the carriage, followed by Tang San and Ye Hao.

The coachman shouted, and the carriage slowly departed from the academy, gradually disappearing into the mist.

On a winding path, a carriage sped along the narrow road.

Inside the carriage. The Master rambled on about various topics regarding soul beasts, soul masters, and martial souls. Tang San listened attentively, nodding occasionally.

Meanwhile, Ye Hao appeared to be on the verge of sleeping. He had heard this information countless times since he first read the novel, and what the Master was saying now was redundant.

"We are going to the Soul Hunting Forest, where the empire specially raises soul beasts. There will definitely be suitable soul rings for you two," the Master spoke confidently.

The Soul Hunting Forest is not the Star Dou Forest. The Master, being a rank 29 Soul Master, could ensure the two's safety. But if they encountered a powerful soul beast, it's likely that all three would become fertilizer for the beasts the next day.

"Master, can soul beasts really be raised?" Tang San asked.

Before the Master could respond, Ye Hao casually interjected, "Soul beasts are categorized into ten-year, hundred-year, thousand-year, ten-thousand-year, and hundred-thousand-year classes. Ten-year and hundred-year soul beasts are weak and can be raised by the empire. However, once a soul beast reaches a thousand years, it gains intelligence comparable to humans. There are practically no thousand-year soul beasts in the Soul Hunting Forest, or else with the Master's abilities. The three of us might not just be hunting but could end up as the soul beast's next meal."

As soon as he finished speaking, the Master showed an awkward expression. This kid was speaking such harsh truths. Regardless of how modest he was, he was still a Soul Master!

"Master, is that true?" Tang San asked, looking at the Master.

The Master cleared his throat to cover his embarrassment. "Uh, yes. Ye Hao is correct."

"Ye Hao, who taught you this knowledge?"

The Master looked intently at Ye Hao, surprised that someone of his level would know such information, which was not something a novice should typically know.

Ye Hao replied, "Wasn't it just through talking? When I awakened my martial soul at the Branch Spirit Hall yesterday, Master Matthew taught me. Master, please continue."

The Master's lips twitched slightly, what else could he say? Ye Hao had already said everything he wanted to convey.

"Where were we?"

"Right! Soul Beasts!" the Master continued. "Earlier, Ye Hao mentioned the ten-year, hundred-year, and thousand-year soul beasts. Next, we'll talk about the ten-thousand-year soul beasts. Ten-thousand-year soul beasts are extremely rare on the entire continent. Their cultivation differs from that of humans; they must cultivate year after year, and the risks involved are countless times greater than for humans. Some ten-thousand-year soul beasts can even rival Title Douluos. After many years of existence, they have learned everything about humans, so when hunting a ten-thousand-year soul beast, a soul master must form a dedicated hunting team; otherwise, it would just be a suicide mission."

"As for the hundred-thousand-year soul beasts…"

"The number of soul masters with a hundred-thousand-year soul ring is exceedingly low. I don't know much about them either, so for now, this information should be enough for you."

Tang San was deep in thought, quickly taking notes on what the Master was saying. It was like a revelation, this knowledge was the first real understanding he had gained since becoming a soul master.

"A hundred-thousand-year soul beast…"

Isn't there one in our academy?

"I remember reading about a hundred-thousand-year soul beast in an ancient book in my village when I was a child. Thinking back, it must have been talking about this."

As soon as Ye Hao finished speaking, both the Master and Tang San's eyes lit up.

"A hundred-thousand-year soul beast refers to those that have gone through a heavenly tribulation and reached a lifespan of a hundred thousand years. Once a soul beast reaches a hundred-thousand years in cultivation, it has two options: one is to maintain its current state, but its lifespan will only be a mere thousand years, the second is to transform into human form."

"Transform into human form?"

The Master pondered. "I've heard someone mention this before, but no one has ever seen a hundred-thousand-year soul beast that has transformed."

Well, there's one in our academy. Shouldn't we capture that rabbit and put it on an operating table for "research"?

As the sun rose, warm rays of sunlight fell upon every corner of the earth.

Inside the carriage, the Master took out a belt made from twenty-four pieces, which he had kept for Tang San during the time Ye Hao was not present. As his only disciple, Tang San was also a twin martial soul, so his future achievements would surely surpass Ye Hao's.

Moreover, Tang San's second martial soul was the Haotian Hammer, the number one weapon martial soul in the world!

Ye Hao: Is it really like that?

"Here you go."

"What? Master, what is this?"

"A soul guide device."

"A soul guide device?"

"This belt was something I obtained thirty years ago, and I've kept it all these years. It has been wasted. I hope it can shine again in your hands. Each of these twenty-four jade pieces has a storage space of one cubic meter."

Upon hearing this, Tang San was overjoyed. He quickly tied the belt around his waist; it fit perfectly.

Earlier, he had been worried about the issue of storing hidden weapons, as they are weapons used secretly to catch enemies off guard.

Now, with this belt, the storage issue for hidden weapons was resolved.

"Master, you gave me a soul guide device. What about Ye Hao…?"

Facing Tang San's doubts, the Master smiled faintly.

"What do you think of Ye Hao?"

"What do I think?"

Tang San pondered for a moment…
