Douluo: I am the True Master

Chapter 564: Chapter 564: Level 10 Soul Engineers – Part 2

Dai Hao gazed at the distant battlefield, where the skies churned and the winds howled. Clenching his fists in frustration, he felt a deep bitterness well up within him. The Dai family's talent pool had dwindled significantly, and though Dai Hao himself didn't want to step onto that battlefield, his pride made him all the more resentful.

Faced with the Sun Moon Empire, which had spent decades amassing resources, even the Star Luo Empire—despite its own recovery period—was far outmatched in terms of firepower reserves. After all, the Sun Moon Empire had the mines.

For years, Dai Hao had grown accustomed to bullying the timid Sun Moon Empire. Now that they were fighting seriously, Dai Hao felt as if he were questioning his very existence.

"Damn Sun Moon Empire! So what if you have more soul-guided weapons? We Douluo Continent people outnumber you! If it comes down to it, I'll just throw lives at you. Let's see whether your soul-guided missiles run out first or our soul masters die off!"

Dai Hao's thoughts were cruel. His pretense of caring for his soldiers like sons was nothing but a façade.

How could a man who didn't even care for his personal maidservant, or bother with his illegitimate children, possibly show kindness to anyone outside his immediate family? It was all just an act to maintain his reputation.

Still, Dai Hao wasn't entirely without strategy. Faced with the overwhelming barrage of soul-guided missiles, he abandoned large-scale troop formations and instead dispersed his forces into guerrilla warfare.

The Sun Moon Empire, unwilling to waste their missiles on clearing the battlefield, only managed to inflict minimal casualties on the enemy.

As a result, the battle on the Star Luo Empire's front gradually grew more intense.

The true advantage of soul-guided weaponry lay in its ability to overwhelm with mass bombardments in group combat. Once the forces were scattered, the Star Luo soul masters—who adhered to ancient cultivation methods and weren't used to one-on-one combat—began to thrive.

However, both sides knew that the final outcome of the battlefield would always be decided by a small handful of individuals.

Dai Hao dreamed endlessly of restoring the White Tiger Dai family to the throne of the Star Luo Empire. Yet, despite years of preparation, his goal remained frustratingly out of reach.

But he also couldn't bear to see this land, once belonging to the Dai family, fall completely under the control of the Sun Moon Empire.

"Shrek Academy, what are you doing?! Aren't you supposed to be the guardians of the Douluo Continent? The war has escalated to this point—why haven't you shown up yet?"

Dai Hao seethed with resentment.

But at that moment, a warm yet scorching surge of soul power descended upon the distant battlefield.

Even from dozens of kilometers away, Dai Hao trembled involuntarily.

Mu En had fought on the battlefield before, but back then, the still-weaker Dai Hao hadn't experienced such an overwhelming display.

For an ambitious man like Dai Hao, the sheer soul power Mu En radiated from such a distance was mesmerizing.

"If... if my Dai family had this kind of strength, why would I have to grovel before Xu Jiawei, that useless fool?"

Such thoughts filled Dai Hao with a deep sense of regret.

Once hailed as a genius comparable to Dai Mubai of the original Seven Monsters of Shrek, how had he—a once-favored son of destiny—become stuck at Level 94? He didn't even have the confidence to set foot on that battlefield.

But there was no time to dwell on such matters in the heat of battle.

The arrival of Mu En caused everyone on the battlefield to instinctively pause.

This old man appeared frail and decrepit. Without sensing his terrifying soul power, one might mistake him for a dying elder.

Kong Deming, who had been idling until now, stepped forward.

"It's been a long time, Mu En. I never expected you to age so much. It seems there's no way you can stop us this time."

Mu En said nothing, simply staring intently at Kong Deming.

"Turn back. Otherwise, if I really attack, you'll die here."

Mu En's tone was calm, yet it carried an unshakable authority that made everyone present instinctively believe him.

One moment, Kong Deming was chatting casually with Mu En; the next, he chose to attack without hesitation.

Kong Deming possessed twin martial souls, but he had only ever cultivated his first martial soul—the Silver Moon.

After all, the secrets of cultivating twin martial souls had long circulated throughout the Douluo Continent, while the Sun Moon Empire remained isolated.

Even if Kong Deming had known the secrets of twin martial soul cultivation, it wouldn't have helped. The Sun Moon Empire's reliance on drug-enhanced cultivation had left his body too weak to handle the additional strain of adding high-year soul rings to his second martial soul—it would only end in self-destruction.

But none of that mattered now.

Even with just one fully developed martial soul, combined with his status as the strongest Level 10 soul engineer, Kong Deming was more than capable of facing Mu En.

A massive Silver Moon materialized in midair, hurtling directly toward Mu En.

At this point, Mu En no longer held back.

An intense surge of life-infused light soul power transformed him instantly. His back straightened, his wrinkles vanished, and he regained the youthful, handsome appearance of his prime.

The terrifying array of two yellow, one purple, three black, and three red soul rings announced that this legendary Limit Douluo, who had suppressed the Douluo Continent for a century, was now truly entering the fray!

Without hesitation, Mu En unleashed his ultimate technique—Dominion of Heaven!!!

Facing an opponent of unknown capabilities, Mu En had no intention of wasting time probing for information. He aimed to obliterate the enemy outright—no fancy maneuvers needed.

A colossal dragon claw tore through Kong Deming's massive Silver Moon and surged toward both Kong Deming and Jing Hongchen.

Seeing this, Xu Tianxing's eyes lit up. He quickly applied the enhancement abilities of his Star Crown martial soul to Mu En.

He didn't realize the toll it would take until after he applied it. Xu Tianxing felt his strength drain significantly and was inwardly shocked. No wonder Mu En was a renowned Limit Douluo—simply applying enhancements to him consumed so much of his soul power.

But before Xu Tianxing could marvel for long, he saw the young-looking Mu En furrow his brow.

"What's going on?"

Curious, Xu Tianxing followed Mu En's gaze—and was immediately stunned by what he saw.

A massive dome had enveloped the Dominion of Heaven Mu En had unleashed. Over time, even the formidable Dominion of Heaven, being fundamentally soul power-based, began to slowly dissolve within the dome.

Mu En frowned inwardly, muttering about the trouble. He even thought of Ye Wen.

There was no helping it. Though this scene paled in comparison to Ye Wen's spatial abilities, it was undoubtedly a space-oriented power.

And among the seven fundamental attributes, spatial abilities were notoriously troublesome.

However, Mu En's sharp gaze quickly devised a solution. Spreading his golden wings, he shot forward at an incredibly fast and erratic speed, circling around to flank Kong Deming.

But Jing Hongchen, whom Mu En had underestimated, produced a massive red shield to block the way.

A muffled impact sounded, and Mu En realized he had lost his chance. Reluctantly, he retreated to reestablish the fighting distance.

"So this is the power of a Level 10 soul engineer? Though not quite divine, they are undoubtedly on the level of an unparalleled Douluo," Mu En said gravely.
