Douluo: I’m Totally a Support Type… Probably

Chapter 31: The Genius of Tang Sect Strikes Again

Hearing this, Chao Tianxiang and Meng Yiran were surprised.

He's more talented than Meng Yiran.

Chao Tianxiang agreed after a moment of silence.

While the Shrek group was annoyed that Tang San hadn't discussed it with them beforehand, no one said anything. They had just seen Tang San's power.

Tang San didn't bother to look at them. He stepped forward with a confident expression.

Meng Yiran also stepped forward, her expression arrogant.

The battle began.

Meng Yiran's first soul ring lit up, launching a barrage of blade-like wind attacks toward Tang San.

Tang San dodged easily using Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track and countered with his Blue Silver Grass to bind her.

Her second ring lit up. Her body twisted, serpent-like, and she slithered out of his restraints.

Tang San was stunned for a moment, but quickly recovered. Knowing it wasn't possible to Bind her, he decided to close the distance.

Using Purple Demon Eyes, he evaded the incoming barrage, closed in, and struck her staff from her hands. Before she could react, he stopped his fist just inches from her neck.

"You lose," Tang San said.

Meng Yiran stood stunned, taking a moment to process what had just happened.

Chao Tianxiang was equally surprised that her granddaughter lost so easily. After calming down, she took the dazed Meng Yiran and turned to leave, not wanting to linger in embarrassment. Yet she still said arrogantly,

"You win. The soul beast is yours. I will remember this."

The Shrek group didn't seem surprised after witnessing the hotel fight.

Only Dai Mubai was puzzled.

Is this the same guy who got defeated by one punch a few days ago?

Why was the difference between them so great?

Oscar quickly walked up and thanked Tang San.

Tang San replied in a calm voice, with a proud expression.

"It's okay. A small matter for a genius."

Hearing his words, everyone's mouths twitched. They knew he was directly declaring himself a genius.

Oscar was speechless. He simply nodded and went over to absorb the soul ring.

Tang San looked toward Xiao Wu, expecting praise.

Instead, he saw her sitting under a tree with Wu Lan, laughing and chatting together.

His expression darkened as he looked at Wu Lan with jealousy.

Xiao Wu will never talk to me unless it's about Wu Lan…That realization made his hatred grow.

Soon, Oscar absorbed the soul ring.

Just like in the anime, he gained a flying skill with a ridiculous incantation:

"I, your father, have a mushroom sausage!"

Everyone burst into laughter.

After explaining the skill's effects, everyone was impressed and praised it.

Xiao Wu looked at the unimpressed Wu Lan and asked, "Brother, what do you think?"

Zhu Zhuqing also looked at Wu Lan curiously.

Wu Lan spoke calmly, "This skill might be useful now, but its long-term value is extremely limited."

Seeing Xiao Wu's confused expression, he continued, "Rabbit, the Phoenix Tail Crest Serpent's speed is high among thousand-year soul beasts, but in reality, it's only slightly below that of a typical Soul King. So, at best, you could use this skill to escape from someone below Soul King level and even then, only for a short duration."

He paused, then added with clarity:

"But once you face stronger opponents Soul Emperors, Soul Sages, or worse, Title Douluo the difference in speed, perception, and spirit abilities becomes enormous. Hiding or fleeing with a Flying-type skill like this won't work. Title Douluo can fly, detect spiritual fluctuations, and their abilities often cover massive areas. No matter how fast you run, if they want to catch you, they will."

"So this soul skill is only effective under Soul King. Above that, you can't outrun flying power. It's practically useless in the later stages."

Hearing this logical breakdown, Xiao Wu and Zhu Zhuqing turned toward Oscar with a bit of pity. It was now clear this soul skill had very little value in the grand scheme of cultivation.

"Brother, you're so smart!" Xiao Wu said, hugging Wu Lan's arm and praising him.

Zhu Zhuqing looked at Xiao Wu, feeling slightly sour inside.

The Shrek group, having calmed down, continued their journey to hunt Tang San's third ring.

Wu Lan was quietly wondering how Tang San would get his soul bone this time.

Xiao Wu was now completely hiding her aura, making her undetectable to Er Ming and Da Ming.

So Er Ming wouldn't show up to guide Tang San toward the injured Man-Faced Demon Spider.

Soon, night fell and they camped in the outer zone of the forest.

The next morning, they resumed their search for Tang San's soul ring.

As they moved, Wu Lan suddenly sensed something approaching rapidly.

He sighed.

Protagonist aura. Opportunities come knocking on the door.

The Man-Faced Demon Spider was coming straight toward them.

Zhao Wuji sensed it moments later.

"Be alert. A soul beast is approaching."

Hearing this, Zhu Zhuqing quickly moved up a tree without speaking, scanned the area, then came back down to report:

"It's a Man-Faced Demon Spider."

Tang San's eyes lit up.

"Teacher said the Man-Faced Spider perfectly suits me."

"Let me handle it. I want to test my current strength."

Zhao Wuji thought for a moment, then nodded."Fine. But if you're in danger, I'll step in."

Tang San nodded and prepared to battle, confidence written all over his face.

Soon, the Man-Faced Demon Spider appeared, crawling with eerie grace and radiating a sinister aura.

Tang San immediately recognized the threat and reacted swiftly.

Without hesitation, he activated his first soul skill Blue Silver Grass Binding trying to restrict the spider's movements.

At first, it worked. Tang San thought the restraint would hold.

But the spider's corrosive toxins proved stronger than expected. Its body secreted venom that melted through the Blue Silver Grass.

The skill was rendered useless.

Tang San stayed calm and analyzed the spider's anatomy.

He remembered that the belly of the Man-Faced Demon Spider was its weakest point.

Seizing the moment, he drew several poisoned throwing needles and aimed at the exposed underbelly.

The spider, sensing danger, raised its defenses. The needles missed or deflected.

Enraged, it slashed at Tang San. He took a minor scratch but unlike the anime, it didn't instantly paralyze him. His resistance and caution mitigated the effect.

Recovering quickly, Tang San once again summoned Blue Silver Grass and bound the spider more firmly.

Then, with precise control, he launched his Hair Crystal Needle a hidden weapon straight into the spider's belly.

It struck cleanly.

The Man-Faced Demon Spider let out a sharp, distorted cry as the crystal needle tore through its insides.

Tang San didn't stop there.

He followed up with more poisoned needles, relentlessly targeting the same weak point.

Under the continuous assault, the spider finally collapsed.

Moments later, a Purple Soul Ring signifying a thousand-year soul beast rose from its body, slowly rotating in the air.

The others began to see Tang San in a new light.

No longer the weakling Dai Mubai had first encountered, Tang San had clearly proven his true strength.
