Chapter 43: Chapter 43: Zhu Zhuqing Came To Zhang Fan's room

"Who took down the Phoenix-Tail Crest Serpent?"

Dai Mubai limped over to Ma Hongjun and asked.

"Uh... Boss Dai, you're awake!"

Ma Hongjun covered his nose. The stench coming off Dai was something else—absolutely foul.

"Your looking to die?" Dai Mubai's eyes narrowed coldly.

"My bad! It was Boss Zhang who took care of it."

Ma Hongjun immediately begged for mercy.

"Damn!"

Dai Mubai was speechless. He had just tried to screw over Zhang Fan, only to end up being saved by him.

"Boss Zhang one-shotted that thing. It was epic!"

Ma Hongjun said, face full of envy.

"One slash?!"

Dai Mubai was stunned.

"Damn, that's insane!"

He was instantly filled with regret. He'd tried to sabotage Zhang Fan, yet the guy had turned around and saved his life.

Tears of remorse welled up.

"Boss Fan, I was wrong! After what I did… you still saved me!"

Dai Mubai was filled with gratitude.

"You... What did you do to Boss Zhang?" Ma Hongjun asked curiously. He couldn't believe it—someone like Zhang Fan, this bald Dai really dared to mess with?

"Scram!" Dai Mubai refused to explain.

"No worries. Just don't let it happen again."

Zhang Fan replied calmly. This guy was honestly a joke.

Soon, Oscar finished absorbing his third soul ring. His body underwent subtle changes—he got a bit taller, and his eyes gleamed with a new light.

His soul ring lit up. "I've got a Mushroom Sausage now!"

A flash of light appeared in his hand—a sausage.

"Mushroom Sausage. Effect: Flight for one minute."

"Not bad," Ma Hongjun said, intrigued as he ran over for a closer look.

Other than flying-type soul masters, only Title Douluos could fly. A minute of flight was already impressive.

Everyone was surprised.

With Oscar's current soul power, he could only produce ten of them.

"Oh yeah, I need a soul ring too!"

Tang San walked over and said, "I just hit level thirty… Teacher Zhao?"

"So jealous!"

Ma Hongjun was shocked—Tang San had reached level 30. He was their fifth member to hit that level.

But still, none could compare to Zhang Fan's monstrous progress.

"We'll help you look tomorrow," Zhao Wuji said, glancing at Tang San, then to Zhang Fan. "Should we help you now or…?"

"I'll go alone. You all can head back first," Zhang Fan said after scanning the group.

"I want to go with you, Fan-ge…" Xiao Wu said reluctantly.

"No need."

Zhang Fan shrugged.

Whoosh—

In a flash, he disappeared before everyone's eyes.

"Ah…" Xiao Wu was stunned. She hadn't expected him to leave that fast.

"Alright, let's head back then."

Zhao Wuji shook his head. Zhang Fan's strength was terrifying—he wasn't worried in the slightest.

Very quickly,

Zhang Fan flashed into the depths of the Star Dou Forest—looking for a dark-attribute soul beast.

He didn't go for a high-level one. As long as it was a thousand-year beast, he could just modify the age later.

Clang—

Zhang Fan appeared in front of his target and slashed it down with a single strike. It was a rare, dark-attribute soul beast.

After killing it, he left in a flash and found a secluded spot.

With a thought, he tried to rename the dark "soul beast" into "Dark Heavenly Emperor."

Ding! Plot modification failed. Please try again.

He immediately changed it to "Dark Qilin."

Ding! Modification successful. +30 Mod Points.

Zhang Fan was thrilled by the system prompt.

Then—

He attached the soul ring of the Dark Qilin (1000 years).

Success.

He then modified the age from "1,000 years" to "100,000 years."

Ding! Modification failed. Please try again.

"Ninety thousand years."

Ding! Failed…

"Fifty thousand."

Ding! Modification successful. +20 Mod Points.

Buzz—

Zhang Fan felt an overwhelming surge of soul power rushing into him.

His level jumped from 40 straight to 44.

The feeling? Absolutely god-tier.

Whoosh—

And just like that, he left the Star Dou Forest.

That night…

Zhang Fan returned to the inn.

After taking a bath, he went down for dinner.

Xiao Wu, Zhu Zhuqing, and Ning Rongrong sat next to him.

Oscar, Dai Mubai, and Tang San watched from upstairs.

"Fan-ge, did you get your fourth ring?" Xiao Wu asked curiously and with care. "Everything go smoothly?"

"Of course it did." Zhang Fan smiled and kept eating.

"How many years was it?" Ning Rongrong asked.

"That's a secret. You'll find out eventually." Zhang Fan smirked.

After dinner, everyone went back to rest.

Zhu Zhuqing bought some pastries and came to Zhang Fan's room.

Knock knock.

A gentle tap on the door.

Creak—

Zhang Fan opened the door. Zhu Zhuqing stood there wearing a black JK skirt with a V-neckline.

Her curves were… breathtaking. Deep, like flowing rivers.

Zhang Fan froze for a second, eyes instinctively taking it all in.

"Fan-ge… Want some sweets?" Zhu Zhuqing blushed slightly under his gaze.

"Sure." Zhang Fan nodded.

"Can I come in?" Zhu Zhuqing asked shyly.

"Yeah."

Zhang Fan stepped aside, letting her in and closing the door behind her.

"Have a seat." He pointed to the couch and poured her a glass of water.

"Fan-ge… you're so handsome and talented… Did you know I like you?"

Zhu Zhuqing's usually cold eyes now glistened with emotion as she confessed.

"I do."

Zhang Fan paused at her words and gently placed the glass down in front of her.

But just then, one of the pastries she was holding slipped—landing right between her boobs.

It was… a moment.

Zhu Zhuqing blushed, but powered through, asking seriously and full of emotion:

"Do you like me?"

"Who doesn't like beautiful women?" Zhang Fan said, sitting beside her.

Zhu Zhuqing leaned in and kissed him.

Then Zhang Fan helped retrieve the fallen pastry—and even licked it clean.

Zhu Zhuqing turned scarlet.

Zhang Fan picked her up and carried her toward the bed.

Zhu Zhuqing struggled, "Fan-ge… not yet… Let's take it slow…"

"Sure." Zhang Fan respected her pace. She'd made her move—now it was just a matter of time.

She quickly ran out, flustered, her clothes a bit wrinkled, and still with a few pastry crumbs clinging on.

Meanwhile, Dai Mubai sat in the dorm, bleeding internally.

He knew Zhu Zhuqing had gone to see Zhang Fan. With pastries.

After a while, he saw Zhu Zhuqing return—face red as a tomato.

His heart nearly shattered.

That cold goddess actually blushed.

There was no doubt they'd done something unspeakable.

Dai Mubai felt the sting of heartbreak.

"Why… why did it turn out like this…"
