"Sword Demon, what are you doing?"

The Slaughter King roared, unleashing the imposing aura of a Titled Douluo. While the veiled maiden rushed to inform him and bring him here, the casualties within the City of Slaughter had already approached ten thousand. These ten thousand lives were all residents of the city—his people. Losing this many was a devastating blow to the city's strength, and the Slaughter King was deeply pained by the loss.

The City of Slaughter indeed had no rules, and the fallen could kill one another freely. However, those who survived such battles became elite forces, serving as the city's defensive power against outside threats. Therefore, the Slaughter King didn't mind the constant bloodshed. After all, the deceased would transform into the fresh, succulent Hell's Dew, which he could enjoy to his heart's content. It was, in essence, a gain for him.

But Qian Renhan was a different matter altogether. This man would never join the City of Slaughter's ranks or bolster its strength. Yet, he had wantonly slaughtered so many of the fallen. The Slaughter King now wanted nothing more than to crush Qian Renhan underfoot.

Qian Renhan raised an eyebrow and smirked. "What am I doing? It's been a month since I last participated in the Hell Slaughter Arena, and I've been itching for a fight. So, I came out to have some fun and use these small fry as warm-ups."

"And how are you able to use your domain without being bound by the City of Slaughter's rules?" The Slaughter King's veins bulged as he continued to interrogate him.

"Simple: I countered the domain with another domain. The Killing God Domain is formed by condensed killing intent. After slaughtering so many, I created a miniature Killing God Domain of my own. I merged this with my Dark Domain to resist the restrictions of the City of Slaughter. To my surprise, the so-called rule of suppressing soul skills here is nothing more than being enveloped by a powerful domain."

Qian Renhan's smile grew colder. "Slaughter King, if there's nothing else, why don't you leave? I still need to kill more of these small fry and gather killing intent until the hundredth match in the Hell Slaughter Arena begins."

More killing!

The Slaughter King was so furious that his words almost caught in his throat. In a chilling tone, he said, "The final match of the Hell Slaughter Arena had already reached its participant quota. But thanks to your massacre just now, it's been disrupted. So, I'll tell you this: upon winning your hundredth match, you may leave the City of Slaughter!"

"That works. Please, Slaughter King, open the Hell Road." Qian Renhan was indifferent. He only wanted to reach the end of the Hell Road as soon as possible to devour the immense killing intent stored there.

"You've already gained a miniature Killing God Domain, and yet you still want to enter the Hell Road?" The Slaughter King's blood-red eyes glinted dangerously. He did not want Qian Renhan to pass through the Hell Road—not at all. If Qian Renhan could create a domain comparable to the Killing God Domain without even completing the Hell Road, what would happen if he passed? Would his domain evolve into something even stronger than the Killing God Domain? The Slaughter King could not tolerate such a possibility.

Qian Renhan frowned and said, "What's this? The rules of the City of Slaughter state that after winning one hundred matches in the Hell Slaughter Arena, one can challenge the Hell Road. Are you telling me that the Slaughter King refuses to abide by the rules?"

"Are you threatening me?"

The Slaughter King narrowed his eyes. He wanted desperately to kill Qian Renhan but was wary of the Spirit Hall's retaliation. After all, the City of Slaughter had yet to find a new source of fresh blood. The major sects outright refused to cooperate with him, claiming it would be a waste of resources. The Slaughter King was enraged, often wishing he could leave the city and obliterate those arrogant fools who looked down on him.

But now, the Slaughter King knew he couldn't kill Qian Renhan. The massacre had already left the inner city severely depopulated, drastically reducing the City of Slaughter's combat strength. Engaging the Spirit Hall in a fight now would be suicidal. After all the effort he had spent to usurp Tang Chen's invincible body and reign as the city's king, he wouldn't let the City of Slaughter be destroyed.

Qian Renhan, of course, had already guessed what this cowardly old bat was thinking, which gave him the confidence to push forward. After all, even Tang Hao, who had no backing, had managed to walk the Hell Road. It only proved how cautious this old bat was.

Even though Qian Renhan was a Fallen Angel, and might not be welcomed by the Angel Clan, the old bat was too afraid to take that risk. He wasn't willing to gamble—he only cared about preserving his own territory.

Just as the Slaughter King was about to throw Qian Renhan out through the main gates, he suddenly noticed the eight-winged Fallen Angel mark on Qian Renhan's forehead. His pupils contracted in shock as he thought to himself, A successor of the gods!

This eight-winged Fallen Angel mark had appeared when Qian Renhan reached level 70. After Qian Renhan left the City of Slaughter, the Ninth Trial would likely descend upon him.

However, Qian Renhan hadn't noticed the mark on his forehead yet, since he hadn't had a mirror.

"You've acquired a miniature Killing God Domain. Fine, go open the Hell Road yourself. The method is recorded within the City of Slaughter," the Slaughter King said, flicking his sleeve as he flew back to his castle. His sudden change in attitude left Qian Renhan slightly stunned, though not surprised.

A moment later, Qian Renhan saw that the Slaughter King had indeed left and returned to his castle without further interference. He couldn't help but mutter to himself, "Has the Slaughter King lost his mind?"

Then, Qian Renhan used his domain to influence a large group of fallen souls, leading them to the audience seats of the Hell Slaughter Arena. He stood in the arena itself, still maintaining his Spirit Domain.

Indifferently, Qian Renhan spoke, "Offer your blood to open the gate of the Hell Road."

As soon as his words fell, the fallen souls in the audience seats didn't hesitate. They drew knives, slashing their thigh arteries, cutting open their stomachs, and even severing their own heads. Blood gushed out, flowing down hidden pipes to gather at the bat-shaped pattern near the Hell Slaughter Arena.

Once the bat pattern was filled with blood, the Hell Road beneath Qian Renhan's feet trembled slightly. A dazzling blood-red light illuminated the surroundings as he retracted his Spirit, waiting for the Hell Road to open.

---

In the castle, the Slaughter King, who had been venting his anger on a few maids after his frustration with Qian Renhan, paused when he sensed the Hell Road opening. He cursed loudly, "Damn it! How could it be so fast? That bastard must have learned how to open the Hell Road from Bibi Dong!"

After cursing, the Slaughter King grew even angrier. He called in two more maids to vent his fury. He was determined to unleash all his anger today. Meanwhile, he roared, "Send a message to Spirit Hall. That insect, Sword Demon, has passed the hundredth match of the Hell Slaughter Arena and is now trying to conquer the Hell Road. Also, tell Spirit Hall to send more supplies! The food in the City of Slaughter is running low, especially the medicinal herbs for strengthening and vitality!"

---

Time passed in a blur. Suddenly, with a violent tremor, everything around Qian Renhan came back into focus. The surrounding blood-red light gradually faded.

Qian Renhan descended from the sky and landed steadily on a circular platform with a diameter of about five meters. Unlike the other challengers, he didn't lose consciousness. Calmly, he surveyed the two narrow paths before him, then stepped onto the path that led upward.
