Douluo: Spiritual Sword

Chapter 238: Chapter 238: Hundred Victory in the Killing Field—Hell Road Opens

"Asura of Sword Dao wins!"

Today, Tian Lin finally completed his hundred-win streak in the Hell Killing Field. This last match was tough, as all nine opponents were Soul Douluo.

The King of Slaughter would rather neither Tian Lin nor Hu Liena qualify for Hell Road than risk them both entering. But after nearly two years of training, Tian Lin's Killing Sword Dao had reached a new level.

No soul skills, no soul bones, no domains, no self-created skills—nine Soul Douluo like this were no match for him.

The King of Slaughter looked grim. If Tian Lin entered Hell Road alone, he'd have a 100% chance of passing.

He needed someone to hold him back.

So, Hu Liena's final opponents were much weaker—just one Soul Sage, three Soul Emperors, and five Soul Kings.

With her Wisdom Skull Bone and an external soul bone fox tail from who knows where she cleared her hundred-win streak easily.

Tian Lin hadn't watched her much before, but since they were partners now, he paid attention. He realized her strength came from the Wisdom Skull Bone. In the original, Tang San got it; its skill was Purple God Light, a mental attack.

In Hu Liena's case, it became Charm Light, a spiritual control skill. When faced with strong enemies, she could turn some into puppets and have them kill each other.

Two Deathgods appearing in one day was a miracle not seen in Slaughter City for a hundred years. The Killing Field reached a fever pitch.

Everyone roared wildly, "Deathgod! Deathgod! Deathgod!"

"Congratulations!" A voice rang from above—not loud, but overpowering all others.

"The King of Slaughter, or maybe Tang Chen?" Tian Lin thought.

"Be careful, Xiao Tian. This man's power far exceeds your master's—maybe even Di Tian's!" Skydream Ice Silkworm warned anxiously.

Skydream could sense how unfathomably strong he was.

"Don't worry, Brother Skydream. I can't beat him, but I have other ways to deal with him. Now's not the time." Tian Lin showed no fear.

After all, this wasn't the real Tang Chen, but a puppet possessed by the Blood-red Nine-headed Bat King. How much of Tang Chen's power could it use?

The King of Slaughter's gaze fell on the stands.

"I'm pleased to witness the birth of two Deathgods today. It's been years since someone reached a hundred wins. They made you all tremble, didn't they, my children?"

"Yes!" The King of Slaughter exuded a strange magic that made all the fallen worship him fanatically.

He looked down at Tian Lin and Hu Liena. "Asura of Sword Dao, Messenger of Hell, thank you for letting me feel passion again. As a reward, I will grant you both the title of Deathgod. From now on, you may enter and leave Slaughter City freely, and serve as honored guests beneath me."

To the King, it was safest if no one challenged Hell Road—cutting off the birth of another Deathgod.

But Tian Lin would never agree. The Deathgod Domain was the foundation of the Asura God's trial. He refused: "No, King of Slaughter, don't break the city's rules for us. I wish to earn your reward by conquering Hell Road with my strength—to become a true Deathgod."

"So do I!" Hu Liena just wanted the Deathgod Domain and to kill Tian Lin in Hell Road.

Both were resolute. The King knew further persuasion was pointless and said coldly, "Very well—then go together. That way, you won't be lonely on Yellow Springs Road. Open, Gate of Hell!"

Evil, icy red ripples spread from the King. In a few blinks, they covered the arena.

The fallen in the stands were unusually excited—they wanted to see Hell Road open. But little did they know, their lives were over.

Except for the Deathgods and Slaughter King himself, no one had ever seen Hell Road open—because all witnesses became sacrifices.

The cheering crowd quieted as the red light spread over the stands. Their eyes dulled, then turned bloodshot. Soon, screams of agony burst from those first touched by the red light.

Driven mad, they clawed at their faces and bodies…

"To be a sacrifice for Hell Road's opening is their honor," the Slaughter King intoned. By now, the screams faded; only Tian Lin, Hu Liena, and the Slaughter King remained alive.

Blood ran across the floor, not in a straight line but into grooves that formed a huge blood-red pattern.

A burst of red light erupted from the pattern. Tian Lin and Hu Liena's footing vanished, and a powerful suction from below swallowed them whole.

"Hmph, good luck in Hell Road!" the Slaughter King's mocking voice echoed in their ears.

Who knew how long passed. After a violent jolt, the two regained freedom and found themselves on a circular platform, five or six meters wide.

This, it seemed, was the starting point of Hell Road!
