DOULUO: THE DRAGON GOD WITH GACHA

Chapter 77: THE ABYSSAL HARBINGER

Lan Xuanyu's gaze sharpened. "So there are Predator Beasts guarding normal treasures, Guardian Beasts protecting and conducting trials for Ultimate Treasures of demi-god rank and below, and Void Beasts guarding and testing those who seek divine-rank artifacts. That makes three. But earlier, you said there were four categories of beasts."

Ditian's expression darkened, his voice turning heavy. "The fourth category is the Overseers."

A chill ran down Lan Xuanyu's spine. "Overseers?"

Ditian nodded. " Not much is known about them by the fedration. All the information we have is from the relics and information of past destroyed civilisation we found in Void Treasure Realm and more.

Overseers are the strongest of all creatures in Void Treasure Realm. If Void Beasts are nightmares even gods fear, then Overseers are the entities that stand above them—beings beyond comprehension. They do not simply guard treasures; they enforce the balance of the Void Treasure Realm. Make sure that there is no problem and oversee the gaurdian beasts. So that gaurdian beasts do not abuse their powers."

A heavy silence filled the air as Ditian's words sank in. Entites stronger than void beasts, who can easily kill gods, then how strong is these Overseers?

Lan Xuanyu exhaled slowly, his mind racing. After a while, he asked, "If they are that powerful, then why didn't they control everything? Or are they too bound to the Void Treasure Realm, unable to leave?"

Ditian nodded. "Yes. Despite possessing galaxy-destroying powers, they are bound to the Void Treasure Realm and the artifacts or treasures they guard. They cannot leave the area they are assigned to protect.

"Unlike Predator Beasts, who can sometimes escape into the outside world, Void Beasts, Void Guardians and Overseers are tied to the very essence of the realm itself. Their existence is woven into its fabric, and as such, they cannot leave unless the Void Treasure Realm itself collapses or an external force strong enough to rewrite the laws of reality interferes."

Lan Xuanyu frowned. "Then that means… as long as no one disturbs them, they won't interfere?"

"Not really," Ditian admitted. " Some Void Guardians have been known to awaken when someone comes too close to the depths of their territory, even by accident. They also awaken if a gaurdian absuses its power, if rules of Void Treasure are broken, or anything similar. They awake and judge the culprit."

Lan Xuanyu felt a cold sweat form on his back. The idea of beings more powerful than Void Beasts—creatures that even gods feared—was terrifying. And yet, these Overseers existed, not just as guardians but as enforcers of balance.

A moment of silence passed before he finally spoke, his voice lower than before. "Then… if someone were to try and steal a Void Treasure beyond their means, or if a Guardian Beast were to abuse its authority, an Overseer would intervene?"

Ditian nodded gravely. "Yes. And when they do, there is no trial. No test of strength or worthiness. Only judgment."

Lan Xuanyu's throat felt dry. "Judgment… as in absolute destruction?"

Ditian's golden eyes gleamed with an ancient knowing. "More than that. Overseers do not simply kill. They erase. To defy them is to invite a fate worse than death—annihilation in both body and soul, wiped from existence itself."

Lan Xuanyu sucked in a sharp breath. That level of power was beyond comprehension. Even in the vast universe, where gods waged wars and civilizations rose and fell, there were few entities that could boast such authority. "Has anyone ever survived their judgment?"

Ditian's expression was grim. "No one."

A heavy silence followed. The implications were terrifying. Even gods could fall to Void Beasts, but at least they had a chance to fight, to resist. Against an Overseer, there was nothing. No struggle, no final stand—just complete and utter erasure.

Lan Xuanyu exhaled slowly, trying to steady his thoughts. "Then... that means even the most powerful beings in existence avoid angering them at all costs."

Ditian nodded. "Yes. Even the most arrogant of people, the most reckless of adventurers, all understand one thing—you do not challenge an Overseer. You do not provoke them. You do not even think of testing their limits. Because the moment you do… you are already dead."

Almight swallowed. "Then… what created them? If they're above even divine beings, then something had to forge them into existence, right?"

Ditian was silent for a long time. His golden eyes, which had always carried the wisdom of countless years, seemed distant.

Finally, he spoke.

"No one knows."

And for the first time since their conversation began, Lan Xuanyu felt something truly unsettling in Ditian's voice. Not just fear, but the kind of respect one gives to an absolute, undeniable truth.

-------

Lan Xuanyu leaned forward and asked," Who is the strongest Overseer?"

Ditian's golden eyes gleamed. "A being known as The Abyssal Harbinger."

A strange pressure filled the room at those words, as if speaking the name alone carried an ominous weight.

Ditian's voice dropped lower, his golden eyes reflecting an ancient dread. "The Abyssal Harbinger is a being of pure calamity. Its very presence warps the fabric of reality, twisting space and time into an endless abyss. Unlike other Overseers, whose existence is barely recorded, this one has left behind undeniable traces—ruins of civilizations that once sought the ultimate treasures of the Void Treasure Realm, only to be erased from history. Its mere gaze is said to unravel fate itself."

A chill ran down Almight's spine as he clenched his fists. "And you're telling me this thing still exists? Waiting?"

Ditian nodded gravely. "Only this Overseer possesses the ability to leave the Void Treasure Realm… but only under very specific conditions. If the rules of the Void Treasure Realm are broken, if something powerful enough disturbs the balance, the Abyssal Harbinger may stir. And if that happens…" He exhaled sharply, his expression grim. "Not even the strongest deities would be able to contain it."

Almight felt his heartbeat quicken. "What kind of power does it wield?"

Ditian's gaze darkened, his voice heavy with the weight of forgotten eons. "No one knows the full extent. The records speak of its ability to consume all forms of energy—life force, soul power, even divinity itself. It doesn't simply destroy; it erases—as if those it devours never existed in the first place. Even time itself is not spared. Some ancient texts claim it can unravel the past, undoing entire legacies with a mere thought."

A thick silence settled between them before Ditian continued. "Those who have encountered it, even from a distance, describe an overwhelming sense of despair, as if the universe itself was rejecting their existence. The air around it becomes heavy, suffocating, like drowning in an endless void. And the worst part?" He narrowed his eyes. "The Abyssal Harbinger does not hunt. It does not chase. It simply waits. Because in the end, all roads in the Void lead to it."
