Douluo: Two brothers in douluo

Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Xiao Wu’s Legs and a Deadly Dilemma

Dai Mubai glanced at Xiao Wu, who stood with her hands on her hips, chin raised, and nostrils flaring as she looked at him with disdain. Then he looked at Tang San, who was quietly sizing him up.

Dai Mubai muttered to himself,

"If I say anything now, won't this Tang San accuse me of walking the path to death?"

From the way Tang San looked at him, Dai Mubai could tell that this Tang San was not his good brother Li Si.

It was clear now—they had transmigrated into different Douluo Continents.

Tang San's brows furrowed slightly. For some reason, the golden-haired youth before him felt dangerous.

This was the first time in his life that he'd encountered someone his age who gave him such an unsettling feeling.

Gently tugging at Xiao Wu, Tang San whispered,

"Xiao Wu, he only looked at us out of curiosity. It's nothing—let's go."

Facing Dai Mubai, Tang San felt no absolute confidence in victory. Unless it was absolutely necessary, he didn't want to fight.

At least, not unless he abandoned all morals.

"Sān-ge, whose side are you on? He was just staring at my legs with that disgusting look!" Xiao Wu huffed, clearly unhappy. She was used to dominating everyone at Nuoding Academy and had no fear of anyone.

Tang San's lips twitched at Xiao Wu's words, and he turned to Dai Mubai with a slight frown.

You already have two girls clinging to you, yet you're still stealing glances?

Still, Tang San knew better than to provoke this golden-haired, heterochromatic-eyed youth unnecessarily. After a brief consideration, he decided to take a step back.

What's a glance worth anyway?

Of course, this was because Tang San wasn't confident he could defeat him. If he were, the story might have been very different.

At the same time, Dai Mubai hesitated. Should he beat up these two troublemakers, or simply walk away?

If he beat them up, there was no doubt Tang Hao would come knocking that night. And right now, Dai Mubai wasn't ready to face him.

In the novel version of Douluo Continent:

Li Si was diligently cultivating his Purple Demon Eye. He knew this technique was best practiced as early as possible to build a strong foundation for mental power.

Suddenly, his vision went dark, and when he opened his eyes again, he saw the same god and the same glowing screen.

With his prior experience, Li Si immediately understood what was happening.

How long has it been? Has Lin Fan found himself in another dilemma already?

This time, the god didn't waste any words and went straight to the point.

"Li Si, your good brother Lin Fan is facing another dilemma, and he needs your help."

As God spoke, the glowing screen showed everything leading up to Lin Fan's current predicament, giving Li Si a clear view of the situation.

"Press the button on the left, and your good brother Lin Fan will beat up Tang San and Xiao Wu. Because he despises Tang San, he'll go all out, but that night Tang Hao will definitely come looking for him. However, he will receive a ten-thousand-year fourth spirit ring.

Press the button on the right, and your good brother Lin Fan will simply take Xiao Xue and Xiao Qing back to Shrek Academy to focus on cultivating. In this case, he'll receive five gold spirit coins."

God finished explaining and then silently observed Li Si.

However, Li Si's attention wasn't on Lin Fan at all. Instead, his eyes were glued to the figures of Tang San and Xiao Wu on the screen, particularly Xiao Wu.

After a while, Li Si muttered,

"This Xiao Wu… She's actually not bad. Those legs… My heavens, they're lethal! I wonder what the Xiao Wu in my world looks like…"

After all, I'm Tang San!

God: "…"

Is your focus seriously in the right place? Isn't the point your good brother Lin Fan?

"How does Lin Fan get to have a ten-thousand-year fourth spirit ring? That bastard doesn't deserve it!"

Without hesitation, Li Si pressed the button on the right.

"Even I don't have a single silver spirit coin yet, and this jerk gets five gold coins?"

"Tsk tsk, those legs… Absolutely deadly…"

Back in the anime version of Douluo Continent:

After some thought, Dai Mubai shook his head, then turned around and left, still holding Xiao Xue and Xiao Qing close to him.

He knew if he stayed any longer, he might not be able to resist beating Tang San up. And with Tang Hao's overprotective nature, that would mean trouble tonight.

Tang San was stunned.

He just left without saying a word?

He's this easygoing?

Xiao Wu, on the other hand, had wanted to stop Dai Mubai, but Tang San firmly held her back.

This only made her frown, her small face scrunching up unhappily.

"Hmph! I'm ignoring you!"

With a girlish pout, Xiao Wu stomped her foot and ran off.

"Hey—wait, Xiao Wu!"

Tang San sighed and hurried after her.

Whoever you are, if you dare to upset Xiao Wu, once I get stronger…

After escorting Xiao Xue and Xiao Qing back to their home in Soto City, Dai Mubai began heading back to Shrek Academy alone.

The sisters lived within the city, not far from the gate. Shrek Academy, on the other hand, was located in the "outskirts" of Soto City, only a few kilometers away.

As he reached the academy gates, Dai Mubai ran into an elderly man with graying hair.

The man looked to be in his sixties or seventies but was brimming with energy.

"Dai Mubai, you rascal! You went into the city and disappeared for days!"

The old man smirked as he teased Dai Mubai.

Everyone at Shrek Academy knew about Dai Mubai's situation. As a prince who supposedly wouldn't live past 20, the teachers were lenient with him, silently allowing him to indulge himself while he still had time.

It was an unspoken agreement. After all, Dai Mubai was the prince of Star Luo Empire.

"Teacher Li, I'm sorry for worrying you," Dai Mubai said respectfully.

He understood the old man's teasing. Clearly, someone had been secretly watching over him. Or perhaps the academy teachers had come to look for him when he didn't return. Either way, warmth filled Dai Mubai's heart.

"Hmph, since when did you become so sharp?"

Li Yusong circled around Dai Mubai twice, checking him over. When he didn't find anything wrong, his brows furrowed slightly.

Dai Mubai: "…"

"Listen, boy. I know some words are better left unsaid, but I can't hold back anymore."

Turning his back to Dai Mubai, Li Yusong clasped his hands behind him and said solemnly,

"You need to stop wasting your potential and start taking cultivation seriously. If you keep going like this, you'll have no chance at all."

Then, turning around to look directly into Dai Mubai's heterochromatic eyes, he continued,

"Have you ever thought about this: What if you win?"

Dai Mubai hadn't expected Li Yusong to say something so earnest.

Perhaps it was because he'd spent too much time at the Rose Hotel with Xiao Xue and Xiao Qing. The teachers probably thought he had given up entirely.

Otherwise, why would Li Yusong be waiting for him here?

It was unlikely these words were spontaneous. Knowing Shrek's teachers, this was probably something Flender, Shao Xin, and the others had discussed at length before sending Li Yusong to deliver it.

Just as Dai Mubai was about to respond, his vision suddenly went black…
