Douluo: Yuhao with a 10000 Times Return System!

Chapter 4: Chapter 3: Yuhao, Maiden Deceiver

Currently, the trio composed of two Tang Sect members and a future Shrek student were walking through the forest. They were searching for a spirit beast for Tang Ya's third soul ring. While walking, Bei Bei was imparting common knowledge of the soul master world to Yuhao. Bei Bei had also decided to help Yuhao get his second soul ring if possible.

"Younger Brother Yuhao, you should understand the basic soul master divisions now, right?" Bei Bei asked. To be honest, Bei Bei had initially thought Yuhao was pretending to be alone and actually came from some powerful faction due to his first purple soul ring. But Yuhao's genuinely clueless reactions to common soul master knowledge made Bei Bei realize... this kid is a complete novice!

"Thank you, Senior Brother Bei!" Yuhao nodded. He had learned a lot of previously unknown knowledge thanks to Bei Bei's help. He silently vowed to repay Tang Ya and Bei Bei someday.

"You two are being so boring! It would be fine if it was just Bei Bei, but now Little Yuhao is completely focused on learning too." Tang Ya complained. Bei Bei simply smiled warmly while Yuhao looked slightly embarrassed.

"Um... Sister Xiao Ya, what kind of spirit beast are you searching for?" Yuhao asked, trying to change the subject.

"Of course an animal-type spirit beast! According to records, Ancestor Tang San used animal spirit beasts for his Blue Silver Grass! I'm thinking of a snake-type spirit beast to help me control targets more efficiently," Tang Ya said enthusiastically.

'That's wrong,' Electrolux suddenly interjected. 'If she was using her sealed power - which I sense is related to devouring - it might work. But from what I've observed, Blue Silver Grass is tenacious with abundant vitality. They should follow the path of life, not strength or control.'

'Ah?! Then isn't that bad for Sister Xiao Ya?!' Yuhao asked worriedly.

'It will be if this continues. Luckily her first two soul rings, though I don't know their origin, contained strong vitality and tenacity that barely compensated. If she absorbs more animal-type soul rings without awakening that devouring power, she'll likely suffer,' Electrolux explained calmly.

"Sister Xiao Ya... Could you tell me why you want an animal soul ring? Isn't Blue Silver Grass known for its tenacious vitality?" Yuhao asked while internally resolving to help Tang Ya if possible. But if she refused to change after persuasion, he would have to let go - he wasn't a saint after all.

"Ah... That! Because Ancestor Tang San used that configuration to become someone above a Titled Douluo!" Tang Ya replied, though Yuhao noticed a hint of confusion in her expression.

"Then... how much did this help previous Tang Sect leaders who followed that path?" Yuhao pressed.

"Well... of course it helped... They became Titled Douluos..." Her voice carried less certainty now.

"How many became Titled Douluos in the past ten thousand years?" Yuhao asked again. Bei Bei wanted to intervene but held back, recognizing Yuhao meant no harm.

"... That... eight..." Tang Ya's voice grew quiet, filled with growing doubt.

"Sister Xiao Ya... why did the Tang Sect decline?" Yuhao continued carefully, basing his questions on fragments of knowledge he'd gathered. He knew it involved soul guides - powerful devices like his level 4 soul guide dagger.

"Because of those damned soul guides!" Tang Ya snapped instantly, anger returning.

"And are soul guides strong? Do people use them widely? Are they helpful?" Yuhao fired three rapid questions that left her speechless.

"Yes... they're strong..." Tang Ya admitted reluctantly. "But what does this have to do with soul rings?" she asked, trying to deflect.

"... Sister Xiao Ya, we shouldn't blindly follow traditions. We should understand them, yes, but also innovate and improve. What if Ancestor Tang San had a mutated Blue Silver Grass? Wouldn't you all have been following the wrong path?" Yuhao countered, borrowing the mutation concept from his own martial soul.

"That... That..." Tang Ya stammered, her beliefs visibly shaken. "But how do soul guides relate to this?!" she demanded, desperately changing tack.

"... Senior Brother Bei, what is Tang Sect most famous for?" Yuhao turned to Bei Bei, who had remained silent during Tang Ya's questioning.

"Hidden weapons. Our Tang Sect is renowned for its hidden weapons," Bei Bei answered, seeming to understand Yuhao's direction.

"... Sister Xiao Ya... are hidden weapons stronger than soul guides?" Yuhao asked. Tang Ya wanted to say yes - would have insisted so minutes ago - but Yuhao's questions had planted doubt. The truth was obvious: while some hidden weapons might be more powerful, their cost and difficulty of production far exceeded comparable soul guides. Some manufacturing methods had even been lost entirely.

"Sister Xiao Ya... have you never considered merging hidden weapons with soul guides?" Yuhao delivered the final blow. "Wouldn't that create something better? Would it still be a hidden weapon? Yes, it would."

"... Tell me, Little Yuhao, what should I do? I... I don't know anymore..." Tang Ya finally conceded, shocking Bei Bei. He had tried for years to persuade her without success, yet Yuhao - whom they'd met mere hours ago - had succeeded?

'SHE BOUGHT IT?!' Skydream screamed internally. Even Electrolux was surprised. As those who knew Yuhao best, they were aware this kid knew nothing much about actual soul guides!

Yuhao was stunned his persuasion worked, even temporarily. Soul guides? Hidden weapons? He knew nothing! He'd been improvising based on snippets overheard from Duke's mansion servants and guards. Yet his bullshitting had somehow convinced her!

Bei Bei regarded Tang Ya and Yuhao with astonishment. Having just taught Yuhao soul master basics, he knew this kid lacked even fundamental knowledge about proper soul guides... He'd completely bluffed! And the outrageous part? Tang Ya believed him! How?!
