The power behind the upper-tier Nomu's punch was so immense that it tore a hole through the corridor's roof, went up, and exploded out from the hospital's outermost wall.

Cracks surfaced in the giant structure, making the entire Hospital shake like a leaf.

From the torn hole in the earth, a figure came rushing out.

Blood had washed Luke's face, blinding his vision. His white greatcoat was speckled with red dots as well.

Luke landed on the parking lot, spun on his feet, and balanced himself.

He barely had lifted his head when, with a roaring boom, the Nomu came blasting out from the same hole and landed in front of him.

A mad growl escaped the eyeless Nomu's mouth.

It raised its two giant arms and lunged at Luke, trying to grab him.

Danger Intuition had gone haywire in Luke's mind, a severe headache shaking his vision.

Despite the extreme circumstances, his body remembered Sand's murderous Martial Arts; it remembered them just too well, it seemed.

The Marauder Potion hadn't turned Luke into a superhuman, as it had barely given him enough Points to make his Stamina rise above an average value in this Quirk Society.

However, combined with the monstrous dexterity it bestowed upon Luke, and with his body already tuned for fighting because of months-long training with a killer, something extraordinary was happening right now.

The Nomu was extremely fast, but it lacked intelligence.

Luke had intelligence and just enough experience to bridge the immense power gap.

The moment Nomu's hands came to grab him, Luke bent backward on his knees so much that it seemed inhumane.

Air sizzled above as Nomu's hands grabbed nothing but emptiness, leaving its abdomen defenseless.

Spinning back, Luke kicked the ground, activating Spirit Vision.

Nomu's black-skinned body lit up in his vision, golden spirit particles reflecting in his eyes.

Super Strength and Regeneration, Luke analyzed in a fraction of a moment as he read the placement and congestion of Spirit Particles in the Nomu's body.

Canceling the Spirit Vision and putting his back into it, Luke punched the Nomu right in the groin.

"ARGGGGGGGGG!" The Nomu let out a twisted growl, skidding back a few steps.

It snapped its head down, saliva dripping from its mouth. In pure madness, it punched at the puny target.

Nomu was much faster than Luke.

However, with Danger Intuition helping him out, he effortlessly saw the punch coming, barely slipping under it.

And, once again, he made a fist with his left hand and punched the same area, the alloy-reinforced knuckles of his gloves going deeper.

The Nomu stood at the same place without making a sound, as if its soul had left its body. Then, with a thud, its knees struck the ground.

Luke turned around and just ran. It wasn't the time to confront a monster like Nomu, knowing well that he couldn't take it on.

As he jumped over the parking lot's wall, two rats caught up to him, climbing onto his shoulders.

Luke had been surprised when he had felt the bestowed Quirks still connected to him via the Spirit Threads. Despite the blast that had almost destroyed the hospital, the two rats had survived.

That's rats for you… Luke remarked.

BOOOMMMMMMM!!!

The earth quaked under his feet.

Luke looked over his shoulder and saw a cloud of dust rising dozens of feet into the air.

One by one, all the cars began exploding, thrown here and there as if some titan was lifting them like a toy.

Blasting through the wall like paper, the Nomu eyed him with not only madness, but also hatred and vengeance.

"ARGHHHHHHHH!!"

The Nomu ran toward Luke, destroying anything that came in its path.

Gritting his teeth, Luke jumped off the flyover with cars honking in panic behind him.

With Nyx serving as his escape route, he had only given one of the two rats an escape-related Quirk. Now, he needed to bestow another Quirk to one of them if he wanted any hope of surviving this monster.

Also, Teleportation was a very complex Quirk that would require him to bestow Intelligence first; not something Luke could have afforded, given Nyx already claiming a lot of his Spirit Points.

So, as he touched one rat, Luke snapped his fingers, activating the bestowed Quirk.

One of the two rats on his shoulders jumped back and ran in the opposite direction.

In the next moment, flesh bumps began appearing on it all over.

It didn't even take a fraction of a second for the rat to grow to the size of a small child, with a monstrous appearance.

It grew fangs as long as a tiger's, but much sharper, and its eyes were already on the verge of exploding, oozing a red glow.

The mutation was so disastrous that the moment this rat growled, half of its face exploded.

But this was the best Luke could hope for at this moment.

Like a condensed ball of wrath, the rat shot forward.

With powerful leaps, the Nomu had almost caught up to Luke, who was running on foot. Suddenly, the mutated rat latched onto the Nomu and began biting into it.

The Nomu, already writhing in pain stemming from his groin, grabbed the rat and squeezed.

The bottom half of the rat exploded with a squelch, as if it were waiting for an external stimulation. To the Nomu's surprise, though, the rat only became fiercer.

Growling even harsher and fiercer than the Nomu, it began chewing even faster than before.

In a matter of seconds, as the Nomu struggled, the remaining body of the mutated rat had already entered it, disappearing within the huge body.

Roaring in pain as the rat ate the Nomu from inside, it punched its own body, destroying all pillars supporting a flyover.

With a deafening boom, the flyover came crashing down, with a few cars getting caught in it as well.

Fuck! Luke cursed.

Not because of the flyover, but because he had felt the rat exploding in the Nomu's body.

Not waiting anymore, Luke snapped his fingers once again.

But the way the Nomu rubbed its teeth as it sensed Luke in front of it, it almost felt like the enormous pain had gifted it intelligence.

Intelligence that the rat, grabbing onto Luke's shoulder, lacked.

Following its animal instinct, the rat randomly latched onto a shiny, pulsating light over the police vehicle within the heart of the city, a mile away from its position.

And then it replaced the object in its vision.
