Chapter 26: [26]. Exploring Planet Sadala
Hearing Kaso's gentle voice, Ausbi'er squinted her eyes contentedly and nuzzled into his arms.
"Kaso-gege, I'm hungry…"
She pouted, having not eaten all day. Clutching her belly, her eyes glistened like a little kitten.
"You greedy little piglet," Kaso chuckled, shaking his head.
Her pitiful look nearly melted the twenty-something uncle soul within him.
…
That night.
Before leading the Saiyans back to their true homeland, Kaso decided to explore Planet Sadala first.
"Little Bier, I'll take you to see the real home of the Saiyan people."
"Mm!" Ausbi'er nodded adorably.
Kaso took her hand and activated Instant Transmission.
Planet Sadala.
The environment on Sadala was similar to Earth—about 70% water and 30% land, making it highly suitable for life.
The land was covered in lush greenery. With no development or civilization, wild grass ran rampant. Amid the chaos, a few colorful wildflowers dotted the landscape—each one vibrant and blooming like youthful girls in a dance, radiating beauty and innocence.
It was currently daytime on Sadala when two small figures suddenly appeared on the planet.
"Wow! So this is Planet Sadala? It's so beautiful!" Ausbi'er's face lit up with joy.
The scenery was stunning, and the air crisp and fresh.
Suddenly, she blinked, sensing something strange. Being here felt oddly comfortable, like being wrapped in her brother's embrace—her whole body felt warm and at peace.
"Kaso-gege, do you feel anything?" she asked softly.
Kaso gently patted her head without saying anything.
From the moment he stepped onto Sadala, he'd sensed that this place was special.
As the ancestral planet of the Saiyan race, many legends surrounded it.
In his past life, in Dragon Ball Super, Universe 6 and Universe 7 were twin universes. At the start, their worlds mirrored each other. Over time, however, Universe 7's Planet Sadala was destroyed, while Universe 6's remained intact—still inhabited by Saiyans.
During the inter-universe tournament, Goku and Vegeta discovered that Universe 6's Saiyans couldn't turn into Super Saiyans—but their base strength was terrifyingly high, which shocked them both.
Some had speculated it was because Universe 6's Saiyans lived on their ancestral planet, which nurtured large quantities of "S-cells" in their bodies, but they simply lacked the method to transform.
Others theorized that S-cells only flourished during times of peace. After all, the Saiyans of Universe 7 had been enslaved by Frieza's army, constantly invading and slaughtering across the stars. That kind of life stunted the growth of S-cells and made transformation nearly impossible.
Only after the destruction of Planet Vegeta and their relocation to Earth—a place of peace—did Saiyans like Goku and Gohan finally begin to awaken as Super Saiyans.
Of course, back then these were just fan theories.
But now, standing here on the real Planet Sadala, Kaso realized—those theories might have been spot on.
He carefully focused inward and sensed a strange energy awakening within him. Something was stirring. It was hard to describe, but his body felt as though it were soaking in a hot spring, warm and deeply soothing.
Kaso narrowed his eyes.
So this… this was the power of the ancestral planet?
Restoring Planet Sadala had been the right choice.
There weren't any obvious changes yet, but he could feel something brewing. When the time was right—when the "quantity" turned into "quality"—a transformation would come.
Patience was key.
Hand in hand with Little Bier, Kaso began walking forward to explore their ancient homeland.
The short grass gradually gave way to towering trees. One here, one there—each one so massive that even three adults couldn't wrap their arms around the trunk. Kaso guessed these trees were over fifty years old.
Under the dense canopy, sunlight could barely filter through. The forest floor was dim and cool, like a world where the sun had already set.
Chirp! Chirp!
"Kaso-gege, look!" Ausbi'er cried in delight.
Kaso looked up. A strange bird was perched in the trees, calling out.
Its feathers were bright red and sleek, its body small and delicate. It lifted its head and let out a melodic cry.
Startled by Ausbi'er's shout, the bird flapped its wings and flew off.
"It flew away… Did I scare it?" she asked, puzzled.
"No worries. Come on, let's keep going."
They passed through the forest and emerged onto a grassy plain. The grass here was soft and silky, like a freshly manicured golf course. It was tidy and uniform, with no weeds in sight.
In the center of the field stood several large boulders, each covered in moss and grass.
"Huh?" Kaso furrowed his brows. Why were there stone slabs in the middle of this pristine plain?
The largest stone was about the size of a villa's front door—two meters wide and at least as tall.
Kaso raised his hand and gathered some ki.
Huff!
With a strong breath, he blew away the overgrown grass covering it.
Underneath—walls.
These slabs weren't just stones—they were parts of ancient walls.
Because they'd been buried under grass, they hadn't eroded much over the years. The architecture was surprisingly intact, and the style resembled the palace walls back on Planet Vegeta.
Kaso's eyes lit up.
This must be the remnants of ancient Saiyan civilization.
"Gege, I don't wanna explore anymore, I'm starving!" Ausbi'er plopped onto the ground, her tail flicking restlessly behind her.
Her stomach growled, and she rubbed her belly with a pitiful expression.
"We've been walking all day. I'm so hungry I can't take it anymore! You still wanna keep going? Hmph!"
"You little glutton!" Kaso laughed, covering his face.
She really was a foodie!
But seeing her like that, he couldn't bear to let her go hungry. Kaso expanded his senses and quickly scanned the planet.
Sure enough, there were still plenty of large animals on Sadala.
He vanished for five seconds—and reappeared with two massive wild boars slung over his shoulder.
"Little Bier, how about roasted boar for dinner?"
"Yay! I love your roasted boar the most, Kaso-gege!" Ausbi'er beamed.
Kaso punched a small pit into the ground, then went to the forest to gather firewood.
Sure, he could've cooked the meat with ki blasts—but the heat control would be tricky, and it wouldn't have that campfire flavor.
As always: meat without firewood has no soul.
With practiced ease, Kaso cleaned the boars, removed the innards, and skewered them on tree branches.
Once everything was prepped, he lit the fire and placed the boars near the flames to roast.
Night gradually fell.
Crackle, pop!
The firewood sizzled as it burned.
"Little Bier, here, be careful—it's hot." Kaso handed her a piece of roasted boar.
"Arigato! I'm digging in!" The aroma made Ausbi'er drool. She couldn't hold back and chomped down immediately.
Kaso watched her with a smile, then picked up his own piece and began to eat.
