Dragon Ball: Birth of a New Saiyan Legend

Chapter 31: [31]. Visit to Korin Tower

When Dr. Brief was younger, he was a total workaholic.

If he ran into something important or challenging, he had to solve it immediately—

Even if it meant locking himself in the lab for an entire month, he wouldn't hesitate.

And now, Dr. Brief had done just that, heading straight for his lab to begin building the gravity chamber for Kaso.

"No wonder Dr. Brief ends up aging so fast in the future…" Kaso muttered, watching the scientist's retreating figure.

With a wife like Mrs. Brief, who practically had eternal youth, the man probably lived under a lot of pressure.

Pah!

Why am I even thinking about this? It's none of my business!

Snapping back to reality, Kaso turned and looked at Tights and Bulma.

What was up with those expressions?

For some reason, it felt like their eyes were glowing… like they were about to eat him alive.

Just moments ago, Kaso had leapt onto the rooftop with ease—

Which had nearly scared Bulma out of her wits.

Her home wasn't just big—it was tall too.

She had never seen anyone do something so insane.

"Hey, how did you do that? Can you teach me?"

Bulma tried to sound nonchalant, but her eyes completely gave her away.

Tights, meanwhile, pulled back her curious gaze.

She knew that martial artists on Earth had their rules:

"No passing down outside the sect," or "only teach men, not women."

Still, she wanted to hear how Kaso would respond.

Kaso curled his lip slightly.

Kids really did just want whatever looked cool.

In the world of Dragon Ball, the potential of ordinary Earthlings was simply too limited.

And it wasn't Kaso trying to look down on them—

It was just the reality.

Across the entire Dragon Ball series, the strongest Earthling was probably Krillin.

And even he couldn't catch a glimpse of Goku's tail lights.

Looking at the eager gleam in Bulma's eyes, Kaso secretly thought:

If your big sister asked me, maybe I'd teach her.

But what he said out loud was:

"You're too young. Come back when you're as big as your sister."

Hearing that, Tights burst out laughing and clutched her stomach.

"Hahaha!"

Never thought she'd see the day her genius little sister got turned down.

"Tch!"

Bulma huffed.

He clearly just didn't want to teach her—why make up excuses?

At school, she was always the center of attention.

Now she was being ignored and even mocked by her own sister.

She was not happy.

But then she thought of how easily Kaso had leapt to the roof earlier.

If she could learn that kind of martial art, she'd be unstoppable at school!

But he wouldn't teach her.

Bulma was seriously about to explode.

Just then, a small voice tugged on Kaso's sleeve.

"Kaso-gege… I'm hungry…"

Kaso looked at Tights.

She smiled helplessly.

These two kids really didn't act like guests at all.

Still, she had the staff bring over two plates of food.

In her mind, how much could two little kids possibly eat?

They probably wouldn't even finish those two plates.

But what happened next left her speechless.

In less than ten seconds, both plates were completely empty.

Ausbi'er looked at Tights and said sweetly:

"I want more!"

Those three words hit Tights like a thunderbolt.

What kind of kids eat this much?

Were they… bottomless pits?

Could it be that all martial artists ate like this?

Though stunned, Tights still had the staff bring more food—

Plate after plate.

An hour later…

The table was covered in empty dishes.

Ausbi'er finally let out a satisfied burp.

"Kaso-gege was right. There really is yummy food here!"

Up until now, she had only eaten Kaso's grilled meat.

Now that she'd tried real Earth cuisine—

This was amazing!

She didn't understand, though…

Why was this big sister staring at her with such wide eyes?

Kaso, meanwhile, licked his lips.

No wonder Beerus became obsessed with Earth's food later on…

Now that they were fed, and the gravity chamber was under construction, it was time to get back to the real mission.

Kaso turned to Tights and Bulma, smiling:

"Thanks for the meal. Bi'er and I will be back in a month."

And with that, he grabbed Ausbi'er's hand and soared into the sky.

Moments later, they had vanished completely.

"J-Jiejie (Big Sis)… th-they can fly!" Bulma stammered.

Just as she was trying to process the way they devoured food,

She now had to process the fact that they just… took off.

Was the world she believed in even real anymore?

Was science a lie?

Tights stood frozen, still staring at the sky.

"Big sis!" Bulma tugged on her sleeve.

"They can fly," Tights murmured in awe.

Bulma: "…"

High above the clouds, two beams of light streaked across the sky.

They passed bustling cities, crossed endless deserts, and flew over vast oceans.

FWOOSH!

They kept flying northward.

Soon, a dense forest appeared beneath them—

And in its center stood a tall, ancient white tower.

"Senzu beans, here we come!"

Kaso grinned as he sped up, dragging Ausbi'er along.

Everything around them became a blur as they flew so fast that shockwaves tore through the sky.

In the forest below, tribal villagers heard a strange thunderclap and looked up—

But saw nothing.

Korin Tower – Top

"He's here!"

Korin, the guardian cat of the tower, was sweating buckets.

The same two kids who had appeared earlier in the day were now back—

And flying straight up toward the tower at terrifying speed.

Kaso paused mid-air.

He suddenly felt a strange spiritual pressure press down on his mind—

But it passed quickly.

He immediately remembered something from the original series.

Only those who climbed the tower by hand could reach the top.

Anyone who tried to fly or use tools would see the tower vanish.

Ah… so it's a mental trick, Kaso realized.

Whoever built this tower really went all-in.

But come on—Kaso had already learned Instant Transmission.

A little spiritual illusion wasn't going to stop him.

"Gege, the tower's back!" Ausbi'er chirped.

Kaso chuckled and continued upward.

At the top of the tower was a round, dome-like platform supported by stone pillars.

Korin stood by the edge, peering down.

The two explosive power levels were getting closer and closer.

Korin pulled out a little towel and wiped his face again.

"Where on Earth did these two come from?!"

He had never seen anything like it.

Sure, Master Roshi had climbed the tower over a hundred years ago and seemed strong—

But compared to these two monsters? It was laughable.

Even King Piccolo from 300 years ago probably couldn't withstand a casual blow from either of them.

"What do I do?!"

Korin paced back and forth nervously atop the tower.

Far above, in the floating Lookout, Kami, the guardian of Earth, had also sensed their approach.

He had been watching ever since Kaso began flying toward Korin Tower…

And he too was filled with unease.
