Dragon Ball: I Am Broly

Chapter 41: He Returned

"Well then, everyone back to their own worlds."

Broly glanced at Chu Mengxi and Vermouth. Both of them seemed reluctant to leave, as if they wanted to spend a bit more time with him, but neither could come up with an excuse to stay.

Their eyes met briefly before they finally nodded in unison.

"See you later, Broly~!"

"See you."

With no more words exchanged, the three of them vanished simultaneously, each returning to their own universe.

...

Universe 7

A dark blue portal opened right where Broly had disappeared.

As soon as he returned, a familiar voice rang out from the front of his home.

"BROLY! BROLY! OPEN THE DOOR!"

It was Cheelai, her tone, as always, filled with impatience.

Broly, without even checking the chat, walked toward the door. He opened it slowly, but before he could say anything, he noticed Lemo standing behind her.

"Lemo, what are you doing here?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Ah, hahaha…" Lemo laughed nervously, scratching his head. "Well, it's almost time to eat, right? I thought it'd be nice to have a meal together."

Broly shrugged. "Fine."

Meanwhile, Cheelai wasn't paying attention to their conversation. With a couple of garments in her hand, she smiled nonchalantly and headed toward the guest room.

"I'm gonna take a shower."

Broly barely reacted. He glanced at Lemo and gestured toward the couch.

"Lemo, sit down and relax."

Without saying another word, Broly walked into the kitchen.

He opened a cabinet, took out some cups, and began preparing tea. While waiting for the water to boil, he decided to check the system chat.

Despite his imposing appearance and battle-ready attire, there was something about his calm demeanor that made him seem almost… like a family man.

In the chat.

The Strongest Man on Earth: "Congrats, everyone! Mission complete! You did it!"

The Strongest Man on Earth: "Next mission's my turn. Don't even think about opposing me!"

I'm Not the Flower of the School: "Sure, no problem. We're very considerate, aren't we~?"

The Witch of a Thousand Faces: "Haha! Although, honestly, I didn't do much this mission. I collected a bunch of points and feel a little guilty… Should I send them to Broly?"

The Legendary Super Saiyan: "The points are distributed by the Group. Just take them. I don't need them, but for all of you, those points can make a huge difference in your power."

The Legendary Super Saiyan: "The best thing we can do is raise the Group's overall level as quickly as possible."

Bloody Habanera: "Ugh~ don't say it like that. It makes me feel like a total burden! I can't keep being this lazy!"

The Strongest Man on Earth: "No matter how hard I try lately, compared to Broly, I'm still light-years behind. It's like we're not even in the same league."

Valkyrie: "It's best not to use Broly as a benchmark."

Valkyrie: "Honestly, Broly's starting line is probably the finish line for the rest of us."

The Strongest Man on Earth: "!!!"

Bloody Habanera: "!!!"

The Witch of a Thousand Faces: "..."

I'm Not the Flower of the School: "..."

I'm Really an Archaeologist: "..."

The Strongest Man on Earth: "Even though you're right… it still hurts to hear. I'm crying inside…"

Bloody Habanera: "Me too, Hilde-senpai. Don't be so blunt—it crushes me to hear how useless I am. I'm devastated~!"

Valkyrie: "Accepting reality isn't a bad thing. Only by recognizing your limitations can you find the motivation to improve."

I Know How to Use a Hammer: "Woohoo! I'm back. Thanks for worrying about me. Also, Vermouth and Chu Mengxi aren't weak, you know."

The Witch of a Thousand Faces: "No, no. I'm a total mess."

I'm Really an Archaeologist: "Stop, stop! Don't worry. As long as I'm here to take last place, everything's under control, okay?"

I'm Really an Archaeologist: "Now then, Miss Chu Mengxi, can you pick up where you left off last time?"

While Broly and the others had been completing the mission, Jackie Chan had been lost in his thoughts.

He considered himself an ordinary person, someone who lived a simple and uncomplicated life. But now, discovering that his world wasn't as normal as he'd always believed, it felt like the ground beneath his feet had vanished.

"What's happening?… What's going to become of my life now? What if I can't handle it?!"

Bloody Habanera: "Oh! Now that you mention it, that's true."

I'm Not the Flower of the School: "Oh, really? Sure, go on. What was I saying last time?"

I'm Really an Archaeologist: "You were talking about magic in your universe… things like that."

I'm Not the Flower of the School: "That's it! Your future experiences will probably be closely tied to magic, won't they? Isn't your father a sorcerer?"

I'm Really an Archaeologist: "..."

I'm Not the Flower of the School: "Ugh, it's complicated to explain. Better see for yourself."

[Ding! The member "I'm Not the Flower of the School" has uploaded a memory copy: The Adventures of Jackie Chan]

Bloody Habanera: "The veteran of the group is always one step ahead. Bye-bye, good luck!"

I'm Really an Archaeologist: "Nooooooo! Why is it called that? I don't want adventures!"

With a heavy sigh, Jackie Chan decided to open the memory copy.

"I guess I have to face this sooner or later…"

Meanwhile, other group members were doing the same. The memory copies began to play out in their minds.

Broly raised an eyebrow as he noticed the length of the content.

All of this brought back childhood memories, though he couldn't recall the entire storyline—just the excitement he'd felt as a kid watching it.

"Maybe it'd be nice to rewatch it…" But for now, he had other priorities. Closing the chat temporarily, he picked up a tray with three cups of tea and walked out of the kitchen toward the living room.

"Here you go, Lemo." He placed the tray on the table and sat down calmly.

Lemo nodded, picked up one of the cups with a smile, and took a sip, letting out a contented sigh.

"Broly, you know… you're the kindest and strongest being I've ever met."

Broly raised an eyebrow but said nothing, letting Lemo continue.

"Other strong types… you know how they are."

"They're either heartless bloodthirsty monsters, or they don't even acknowledge us, like we don't exist… or worse, like Frieza."

Lemo looked up, his eyes filled with genuine admiration as he met Broly's gaze.

"But you… You're different. Someone like you, Broly, is… rare."
