Dragon Ball: I Became Cell in a Doomed Future

Chapter 12: Chapter 12: A Visitor from Another Timeline

Could it be that Bulma was suffering from some kind of mental breakdown?

Although no one in Dragon Ball had ever run into psychological issues inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, the possibility certainly existed, and Levos had always been on guard against it.

When someone's willpower faltered or their mind wasn't fully focused, hallucinations and strange behaviors could emerge.

Levos couldn't let it go. Quietly, he crawled out of his modification pod and tiptoed toward Bulma.

As the distance between them shrank, Levos finally saw it clearly.

In front of her computer, Bulma was grinning like a lovestruck fangirl, mumbling under her breath.

"…Adjust the age one more time. Really, this will be the last time."

"Oh, being young is just the best."

"Hmm… maybe a bit longer on the eyelashes."

"Tighter skin, more bounce, nice and springy, hehehe."

"This part and this part, let's go a bit bigger, a bit perkier, oh yes, that's it…"

Carefully skirting around the modification pod, Levos silently walked up behind her.

So that's what she was doing, she was tweaking her own 3D body model, adjusting every little stat to her liking.

"Levos! Weren't you already inside the pod?"

Caught red-handed, Bulma looked genuinely flustered.

Levos immediately spotted the issue.

Looking at the display, he found her latest customized version of herself, and his face darkened.

It was exactly the image of Bulma at sixteen, her teenage self in every way.

Never mind that she'd set her age ridiculously low.

The real kicker was that she had "enhanced" certain proportions quite noticeably.

I can't… I just can't unsee this.

Levos facepalmed hard.

This woman was absolutely, utterly, shameless!

But, well nothing bad had actually happened.

And honestly, he didn't really have the right to scold her.

In fact, deep down, maybe he didn't even dislike it that much.

"Bulma, come on. You're wasting time. Besides, these kinds of adjustments could actually mess with your combat performance!"

After two months of working side by side, Levos had naturally grown comfortable enough to call her by name.

"I was wondering why you seemed so distracted today. Turns out you've been sneaking off to do this?"

What really left Levos speechless was how someone as logical and focused as Bulma could waste time on this of all things, especially now.

For all this time, Levos had been living on edge, racing against the clock to absorb as much knowledge as possible.

Terrified that they wouldn't have enough time, and that it might cost them their lives.

Sigh.

Levos let out a long, helpless sigh.

Forget it…

This was the same woman who once used the Dragon Balls to wish away her crow's feet. He should've expected something like this.

His words sounded sharp, but he wasn't really blaming her.

It was more of a gentle reminder that now wasn't the time to relax.

"Sorry… I've never been in battle. I didn't realize that adjusting things like this could have side effects."

Bulma twiddled her fingers awkwardly. "I'll reset everything right away!"

"N-No, actually… don't bother."

Levos had just been saying it casually. He was a complete rookie when it came to actual combat. It's not like he knew what adjustments would affect fighting ability.

Bulma gave him a strange look.

Levos instantly felt guilty. "What I mean is… resetting it would just waste more time, right? It's just a body, after all. Might as well leave it like this…"

"Alright then."

Both of them let out a long breath in perfect sync.

Five minutes later.

One after the other, they climbed into their modification pods.

As he slowly closed his eyes, Levos pressed the button to seal the pod.

Inside, he quietly prayed that when he woke up, he would truly have the strength of an Android.

West City.

Two figures in thick cloaks floated in the air, completely wrapped up from head to toe.

"Did we really manage to return to the timeline before Dabura and Zamasu showed up?"

The first voice was soft and pleasant.

"The timeline should be right." The other figure gently wrapped an arm around the first's waist and ascended higher.

"That's strange. A lot of people seem to be gathering in West City."

"Yeah, I noticed that too. Let's head to Capsule Corporation first and figure out what's going on."

"Capsule Corp? That means… we'll get to see Dr. Bulma again!"

"Yeah. But… we need to keep our identities hidden. We can't disrupt their lives."

"You're not going to tell her who we are?"

"There's already a version of you and me in this world. If we reveal ourselves, we'll only make things more complicated."

"You're right… our original world… is gone now…"

What they didn't realize was that, in the shadows nearby, another figure was quietly watching.

"Finally found a timeline where Beerus doesn't exist, and I bump into you again. I could never forget your energy, Trunks."

"If this body wasn't so weak right now, you'd both be dead already."

"Once I seize the perfect body, I'll be back for you."

The shadow gently twisted the silver ring on his finger and vanished without a trace.

The clock outside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber ticked steadily.

Every second passed with a soft, rhythmic click.

In this silence, time itself seemed to stretch endlessly.

Levos had the longest dream he'd ever experienced.

In it, Frieza crushed him from a distance, shattering him to pieces.

Cell skewered him through the waist, sucking him dry.

Broly crushed his spine, his body bursting as he died.

Dabura's spit splattered across his face, petrifying him into stone before shattering.

Majin Buu turned him into a cookie, chewed him into crumbs.

And then... The nightmares started to shift.

Suddenly, Bulma appeared in his dreams young, vibrant…

…And that face.

Whoosh.

The sound of the pod opening jolted him awake.

Levos snapped his eyes open.

And there she was a beautiful, youthful girl leaning over him, checking his condition.

Bulma had really become young again.

It felt like seeing an old movie star suddenly rewind to her prime. Levos was quietly amazed.

"Levos, your vitals look excellent."

Wearing a white lab coat, her long blue hair was loosely tied behind her head.

Even though the coat was oversized, it couldn't hide her stunning figure.

"Bulma… did we… succeed?"

Levos felt a trace of nervousness in his heart.

Transforming into Androids was a key part of their plan to stop Babidi from releasing Majin Buu.

He didn't want all their efforts to have been in vain.

"Phase One of the modification was a complete success!"

Phase One of the Android transformation was about replacing all normal human cells with Super Cells.

These cells allowed humans to directly surpass their natural physical limits and become super warriors.

Super Cells not only had incredible self-repair capabilities, but they also served as microscopic fusion reactors.

By simply absorbing air through their pores, their bodies could continuously generate near-limitless energy through natural fusion reactions within each cell.

Of course, it wasn't true infinite energy.

Even elementary schoolers knew about the law of conservation of mass and energy.

But in practice, the rate of energy production far exceeded consumption.

This entire system, combining biological and mechanical processes, was unimaginably complex and precise, yet could operate smoothly on its own.

No wonder Dr. Gero was considered a genius.

Levos could barely contain his excitement.

He couldn't wait to test his new Android powers.
