Dragon Ball: Kayn's Story

As he continued walking away from the burning mountain, Kayn watched Chi-Chi skipping along beside him.

"Why are you walking sooo slow?" The girl asked, starting to run around him, too excited to just walk.

'If I go any faster, we'll probably end up missing Goku's arrival...' He said in his mind, before speaking out loud "Why are you in a hurry, you'll end up getting tired before we reach the nearest city. Don't expect me to carry you on my back when you get tired"

The two were heading down the only road that led to the foot of the mountain, so Kayn assumed that as long as he didn't leave there, he would meet up with Goku's group at some point.

His excuse of saving his energy to get to the nearest town made sense to Chi-Chi, but it was ineffective in calming her down.

"Where do you think Daddy's master is?" She asked, and then said "I think he's at the North Pole. It must be a lot of fun to make snowmen, right?"

A long sigh left Kayn's lips "We're looking for a martial arts master, not Santa Claus"

"I know" The girl stuck her tongue out at him. "But Daddy said he usually isolates himself from the world, so the North Pole would be a great option!"

Kayn stopped his steps for a second, staring at the girl with a doubtful expression, as if asking if she was stupid, but he said nothing and continued walking.

As they continued walking, slowly moving away from the mountain, he said "I still don't understand why you're wearing that armor, it doesn't even seem to protect much"

It had to be said, that armor looked more like a bikini, maybe it would protect a little with luck, but it was essentially useless.

The girl stopped in her tracks, then looked at herself, before saying "Isn't this how warrior women are supposed to dress? In the movies they always wear armor like this"

'Well, it's not like we're going to a battlefield, so there's no point in wearing armor anyway...' Kayn finally decided to let it go "Whatever"

Seeing Kayn shrug and continue walking, Chi-Chi followed him again.

A little over a kilometer away from where Kayn and Chi-Chi were, a small car stopped in the middle of the road.

A girl with long blue hair and a bunny costume stepped out of the car. She looked towards the burning mountain, with a slight expression of shock.

"Now it makes sense why it's so hot..." She said as she wiped the sweat from her forehead.

This is obviously one of the people Kayn was waiting for, Bulma, the smart girl who started the whole story because of her desire to have a boyfriend.

Right after her, a spiky-haired boy with a monkey tail came out, it was Goku, who looked impressed at the burning mountain "Wow, it looks like a huge bonfire!"

His appearance was quite childish, but it was possible to notice that his small body had some muscles.

After him came the one in the driver's seat, the anthropomorphic pig, Oolong, who looked only slightly bigger than Goku.

The little pig had an expression of anxiety mixed with fear on his face "I told you this place was a burning mountain, we should give up on this and leave"

Bulma turned her gaze to Oolong, who was on the other side of the car, and said "No way! We have to find a way to get that dragon ball"

"You don't understand!" The little pig's voice rang out loudly "Fire is a big problem, but not the biggest. This mountain belongs to the Ox King and he guards this place with tyranny. Anyone who comes near his castle..." He swallowed hard.

Bulma could imagine the missing part of the sentence, which made her feel a shiver run through her body "But we have Goku!" She said, unable to give up on the dragon ball.

Oolong shook his head vigorously "Goku is very strong compared to normal people, but you have no idea who the Ox King is! He is not an ordinary human, he is a demon, who would end up killing us all!"

"No matter how valuable the Dragon Balls are, they're not worth the risk of offending that monster!" He concluded, as he nimbly got back into the car "Let's go before it's too late!"

The sound of the engine being started rang out, the little pig was determined to escape from that place as quickly as possible.

"Is he that strong?" Goku questioned, while acting casual, placing his wrists behind his head.

Bulma showed signs of being scared, but she endured it and said "Stop being a coward, Oolong, we're going to go get the dragon ball"

"Are you lost?" A voice suddenly rang out, causing Bulma to jump slightly in shock.

Kayn had appeared in front of them, having seen them standing still and had come running over. While the small group was still surprised by the young man's arrival, Chi-Chi came running after him.

"Kayn!" She gave an irritated but cute cry in his ear "You were walking like a turtle until now, why did you suddenly run..." As she spoke, she finally noticed the small group.

Each of the five people there had a different expression. Oolong stared at Kayn in fear, and unintentionally let out a "The demon prince!" Then he tightened his grip on the steering wheel of the car.

Goku was also staring at Kayn, with a curious expression, as a matter of instinct, he felt that this young man was strong.

Bulma was first shocked by the unexpected presence, but one look at the young man made her mindset change, and a hint of interest appeared in her eyes 'Wow! Another handsome guy!'

Without even realizing it, the girl was fixing her hair, and giving the young man a slight smile.

Chi-Chi made a surprised and excited expression, meeting new people was part of her idea of adventure.

Kayn had a neutral expression at first, which was clearly an act, after all he was very excited to meet Goku and Bulma, but his expression turned into a smile when he heard Oolong's words.

"You know, I've heard a few people call me that, but most of them died..." Kayn's voice sounded cold and threatening.

He didn't even remember the nickname he had earned until he heard the little pig say it. Since he helped his father keep away the thieves that occasionally appeared, he ended up gaining a certain amount of fame.

Being called a demon might be bad, but for some reason, demon prince seemed nice, maybe because it still had some glamour.

Hearing Kayn's words, Oolong trembled even more than before, then filled with fear, he shifted into reverse and was determined to flee, but suddenly a loud sound of glass breaking rang out and he felt something brush past his ear.

Everyone looked in surprise, Kayn, who was just a few meters away from the car, had suddenly jumped forward and was now on the hood of the car.

He was holding a katana, which had pierced the car window and stuck into the driver's seat, right next to the pig's ear, which had started to sweat coldly.

"Only the guilty try to escape, don't you think?" Kayn's voice slowly sounded, and despite having a neutral tone, it carried a subtle killing intent.

Part of it was acting, to maintain his demon prince persona, but on the other hand, he actually had some anger towards Oolong, knowing his actions.

'Maybe Master Roshi is the most perverted, but the most perverse is certainly that disgusting pig!' Kayn can't help but think about how Oolong kidnapped girls.

In a quick movement, the katana was back in its sheath, attached to Kayn's waist "Try to run away again and I'll kill you" He said, before jumping off the hood of the car.

Despite being shocked, Bulma did not express any disgust towards the young man nor empathy towards Oolong.

"You're pretty fast!" Goku commented in admiration, not at all affected by the whole situation.

Chi-Chi just smiled, proud of her brother.

Kayn ignored Oolong trembling in fear in the car and turned his gaze to Bulma "You don't look like thieves, so I won't attack you, but answer me, what did you come here for?"

The difference in treatment was obvious, but the girl didn't even pay attention to it, she felt her heartbeat quicken 'I can't tell the truth or he'll think we're here to steal the...'

"We came to look for one of the dragon balls" Goku's voice interrupted her thoughts, making her turn her head towards the boy.

An angry expression appeared in her eyes, even with her teenage mind making her reckless, she still knew how idiotic it would be to say that they came to take something that was in the possession of the Ox King.

"Dragon balls? What are those things?" Chi-Chi asked curiously, as she alternated her gaze between her brother and Goku.

Kayn looked at his sister over his shoulder and said "They are magical objects that can grant wishes. Once one gathers all seven dragon spheres, one can make a wish... Well, that's what the legend says"

He could see that Bulma was surprised to learn how much he knew, so he smiled "If that thing is around here, it will definitely be in our castle" Then he pointed to the top of the burning mountain.

"If this is with the Ox King we won't want it, we're already leaving!" Oolong said desperately inside the car, he could still feel his heart about to explode because of fear.

Kayn had already planned to get to this point, so before Bulma herself gave up, he said "If you want that, we can make a deal"

"A deal?!" Everyone was confused, even Chi-Chi.

Kayn focused his gaze on Bulma and said "We need to deal with the flames on the mountain, so my sister and I are looking for a person who has something capable of putting out the fire. If you help us find that person, I'll convince my father to give you the dragon ball as a reward"

"Something capable of extinguishing all that fire?" Bulma was surprised, even a little disbelieving.

"Who would have something like that?" Goku asked.

Kayn smiled, knowing he had already gotten what he wanted "Muten Roshi, or also known as Master Roshi, known as the greatest martial artist in the world"

Bulma made a thoughtful expression "That name sounds kind of familiar..." She tried to remember where she heard such a name from.

"Hey, Bulma, isn't that Grandpa Turtle's name?" The spiky-haired boy said "He's the one who gave me the flying nimbus"

Author's Note: Kayn using a sword is interesting?... The Ox King uses that axe, so it seems normal that he also learned to use a blade, I just don't know if I'll keep that in the future.
