Dragon Ball: My Earthly Rebirth

Chapter 22: Chapter 22: Kamehameha

Upon hearing Ox-King's words, everyone couldn't help but marvel at Master Roshi's prowess and the powerful artifact he possessed.

Goku immediately agreed and summoned the Flying Nimbus. Just as he was about to take off to find Master Roshi, Ox-King suddenly remembered something and called out to Goku. He pulled out a photo and said, "Goku, I previously sent my daughter Chi-Chi to find Master Roshi. If you see her on your way, please bring her along."

Goku nodded in agreement, bid farewell to John and the others, and flew off on the Nimbus in the direction he had come from.

Since Ox-King and Goku had such a relationship, John and the others knew there wouldn't be any further conflict. They sat down, chatted casually, and waited for Goku's return.

Not long after, around evening, Goku returned riding the Nimbus with a sweet-looking girl dressed oddly behind him, followed by Master Roshi driving a flaming turtle.

As soon as Master Roshi landed, Ox-King rushed over and bowed deeply, exclaiming, "Master Roshi!"

In his excitement, Ox-King accidentally knocked Master Roshi over as he bowed.

Once Master Roshi regained his balance, Ox-King knelt before him and said, "Disciple is ashamed; I needed my master to come personally."

Master Roshi was not pleased and scolded, "Ox-King, I've heard you've killed many people in your greed for treasure?!"

Ox-King turned pale with fear and stammered, "Master! I—I won't dare do it again!"

Master Roshi didn't dwell on it too much; he didn't hold Ox-King in high regard like he did Son Gohan. After all, he had expelled Ox-King after Gohan graduated from his training.

Master Roshi sighed slightly but quickly moved on. He approached Bulma with a lecherous grin and said, "I heard from Goku that the sixth Dragon Ball you're looking for is in the castle surrounded by flames. Now I can help extinguish the fire on Fire Mountain so you can get the Dragon Ball."

"But under one condition: you have to let me touch..." As he spoke, Master Roshi made suggestive gestures.

Bulma had already refused before and certainly wouldn't agree now. Moreover, they were searching for the Dragon Balls to help John; there was no way she would sacrifice her dignity for that. Without hesitation, she turned him down.

Master Roshi grew slightly displeased and said, "If you don't agree, then I won't help put out the fire."

Their argument caught the attention of Ox-King and John.

Ox-King felt ashamed hearing his master's request but blushed as he pleaded with Bulma to help. He promised that if she agreed, she could choose any treasure from his castle once the fire was extinguished.

At that moment, John pulled Bulma aside.

Bulma thought John was going to persuade her to sacrifice her dignity as well. Disappointed, she realized that although John wasn't her type, she genuinely considered him a friend. She was even willing to risk her life and give up a year of wishing time just to help him find the Dragon Balls.

She decided that if John really tried to convince her to do it, she would cut ties with him.

Unbeknownst to Bulma, John had no idea of her internal struggle. He said: "Did you forget? We have a pig that can transform!" He pointed at Oolong playing nearby and continued: "You can totally agree now and let Oolong transform into you later to fulfill your promise."

Hearing John's suggestion made Bulma light up with happiness. She praised him: "John, you're brilliant! I knew bringing this pig along would be useful one day; I truly have foresight!"

After their discussion concluded, they stepped out from their corner where Master Roshi and Ox-King were eagerly watching Bulma.

Bulma put on a reluctant expression as if it was very difficult for her to agree. She said: "Fine! I'll agree to your request; now hurry up and put out the fire."

Upon hearing Bulma's agreement, Master Roshi jumped for joy. He took off his turtle shell with effort and climbed onto a section of the castle wall.

Master Roshi slowly unbuttoned his shirt until it was completely undone. He tossed it aside casually, revealing his bony frame.

Ox-King shouted excitedly: "It's happening! The legendary technique of Master Roshi—the Kamehameha!"

While everyone else couldn't see how this frail old man could extinguish Fire Mountain's flames apart from John and Ox-King,

At that moment Master Roshi shouted loudly. His previously skinny body suddenly transformed into that of a muscular man; he bulked up significantly from a frail old man into a well-built bodybuilder.

Master Roshi raised both arms slowly gathering energy as streams of light flashed around his hands—his inner energy concentrated in his palms.

Then he brought his palms together in a flower shape before placing them at his waist. A bright light appeared between his hands emitting blinding rays—this was a sign of excessive energy gathering.

As Master Roshi pronounced each word slowly: "Kame—Hame—Ha!" After finishing his chant, he pushed his flower-shaped hands forward unleashing a dazzling energy wave towards Fire Mountain.

The brilliant energy wave forced everyone to shield their eyes from its brightness; it created a piercing screech as it sliced through the air while powerful air currents whipped John's clothes and hair back.

Once Master Roshi's Kamehameha finished firing and everyone could open their eyes again to see what happened next,

They were all astonished because not only had the raging flames on Fire Mountain been extinguished but the mountain itself had been shattered by Master Roshi's powerful energy wave.

At this moment Master Roshi reverted back to his original bony form as if everything they just witnessed was merely an illusion; however, the scene before them clearly showed that what had just happened was no illusion—the overwhelming Kamehameha had indeed destroyed an entire mountain.
