Dragon Ball: The Strongest Training

Chapter 41: Weakness is the Original Sin

Since Krillin said it was nothing serious, Shadamou felt relieved. He took the large bowl from Avila's hands and brought it to his mouth, taking a big gulp. "Slurp!"

But as soon as he swallowed, his face flushed red, and he spat the food onto the ground, exclaiming with disdain, "What is this? Is this even edible? It's spicy, and it's like swallowing rocks—completely inedible!"

Hearing Shadamou complain and spit out the food, Avila's eyes instantly reddened.

Shadamou noticed her strange reaction and asked worriedly, "Avila, what's wrong?"

Choking back tears, Avila said, "This is already very good food. We haven't eaten something like this in ten years, and yet, you're wasting it!" Tears streamed down her cheeks as she spoke.

Seeing this, Shadamou couldn't help but slap himself hard across the face. "Your big brother didn't mean to complain!"

However, his explanation didn't seem to work. Avila still looked at him with sadness in her eyes.

Shadamou felt a deep pang of guilt as he gazed into Avila's tearful eyes. Determined, he pinched his nose and poured the rest of the food into his mouth in one go.

Though eating it made him feel awful, Shadamou forced a smile and said to Avila, "It's not salty enough, but it tastes pretty good!"

Watching from the side, Krillin was mildly impressed. This guy's got some tact after all. I, on the other hand, have been spoiled by Earth's cuisine. No way I'd eat that stuff.

When Avila saw that Shadamou had finished the food, she immediately went from crying to laughing, letting out a giggle. She quickly grabbed the empty bowl and ran back down the hill, her cheeks slightly flushed.

It was only then that Shadamou realized something. "Wait a minute... I think that little girl just played me!"

Watching Avila disappear into the distance, Shadamou made a sour face.

Krillin shook his head with a wry smile. Girls are terrifying! My Lazuli's better—just a little tsundere. Heh!

"Shadamou, come here!" Krillin called out.

"Yes, Lord Krillin. What's the matter?"

Krillin calmly handed Shadamou his bowl. When Shadamou saw it, his face instantly filled with terror. Not taking it wasn't an option.

After giving him the bowl, Krillin turned and walked back to his quarters.

Standing there with the bowl in his hands, Shadamou felt miserable. Heavens, do I really have to eat another bowl of this stuff?

Krillin glanced back and said, "Feed it to that alien."

Hearing this, Shadamou's sadness turned to joy. "Hehehe," he chuckled, and headed toward Shaz step by step.

Moments later, a wail echoed through the air. "You said you wouldn't kill me! Why are you making me eat this stuff? Help!"

Shadamou grinned wickedly. Finally, someone else can share my suffering. Scream all you want, Shaz!

Satisfied, Shadamou stood up, wiped his hands, and with an evil smile, walked toward the capsule house Krillin had prepared.

By the end, Shaz was lying on the ground, twitching violently, foaming at the mouth, and sticking out his tongue like a lifeless ghost. His body's instinctive resistance to eating had completely overwhelmed him, causing him to faint from sheer fear.

Night fell quickly. Krillin stood atop the rocks, gazing down at the countless Earth Mound Star people below. As long as I'm here, Earth will never end up like this.

Shadamou, too, looked down at his shivering people, thousands of whom were huddled around a single bonfire.

Shaz, huddled in a corner, was also trembling. But seeing Krillin and Shadamou staring at the scene below, he couldn't help but look down as well. My god, what kind of sight is this? Though he had seen it before, this time, in his most helpless state, the suffering of the Earth Mound Star people struck a deeper chord.

In shared suffering, empathy arises…

"Do you understand now, Shadamou?" Krillin suddenly asked.

"Understand what?" Shadamou asked, puzzled.

After a long pause, Krillin said slowly, "In this world, weakness is the original sin."

Krillin's words weren't just meant for Shadamou—they were a reminder to himself as well.

Weakness is the original sin. These words hit Shadamou like a bolt of lightning. Isn't it because of Earth Mound Star's weakness that we ended up like this? Isn't it because of my own weakness that I've wandered aimlessly for a hundred years?

For the first time, Shadamou felt an intense desire to become stronger.

"I want to grow stronger!" Shadamou said after a long silence.

"A soldier who doesn't want to become a general isn't a good soldier. And a subordinate who doesn't want to grow stronger isn't a good subordinate," Krillin said with a sly smile. "Looks like you've finally got it."

"Will I get the chance?" Shadamou asked earnestly, his eyes now filled with determination.

Krillin smiled mysteriously. "You'll get your chance."

Shadamou's eyes sparkled with hope.

"Alright, get some rest. There are more battles ahead," Krillin said, patting Shadamou on the shoulder before floating toward his training chamber.

As he watched Krillin leave, warmth filled Shadamou's heart. So Lord Krillin values me this much... He felt a surge of loyalty, a willingness to die for a leader who believed in him.

The star of the Straw Hat Galaxy rose as usual, its bright light once again illuminating Earth Mound Star.

After a full night's rest, the Earth Mound Star people seemed slightly more spirited. Krillin, who had already scouted their situation, understood their potential. Physically, they far outmatched humans, with an average battle power of around 30. But Earthlings had far superior combat techniques.

Ultimately, humans were luckier—they had protectors like Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Tien, and Yamcha defending Earth.

Packing up his things, Krillin descended to the camp, smiling and nodding in response to the Earth Mound Star people's cheerful calls of "Lord Krillin!"

"Lord Krillin!" Avila's father, Ian, greeted him respectfully.

"Ian, lead your people to the central oasis and rest there," Krillin instructed. He had already scouted the area and found the oasis's environment relatively good, though it had limited resources and no invaders stationed there.

Ten slave zones in total—one liberated, nine to go. The strongest invader had a battle power of around 10,000. By the time the Earth Mound Star people relocated to the central oasis, it would be time for Shadamou to rebuild their planet.

"Yes, Lord Krillin!" Ian immediately obeyed the order.

Krillin glanced playfully at Shaz.

Shaz shivered, tears welling up in his eyes as he prepared to beg for mercy.

Krillin said to Shadamou, "Let him go."

Shaz's heart swelled with hope.

"What? Just let him go?" Shadamou asked, puzzled. Even if Shaz wasn't guilty, letting him leave so easily didn't seem right.

"Use your brain! Do you think I'd let him go just like that?"

Hearing this, Shaz froze in fear, unsure of what was happening.

Krillin walked up to Shaz with a mysterious smile. "You know what to say when you get back, right?"

"Yes! Yes! I've never seen you, Lord Krillin! Never seen you!" Shaz stammered, kowtowing repeatedly like his head was pounding garlic.

"Bullshit!" Krillin suddenly shouted.

"Huh?" Shaz looked up at Krillin, dumbfounded.
