Dragon Ball: Ultimate Selection System

Chapter 19: Capsule Crisis

"Insufficient treatment equipment?"

Link frowned.

After Hannasia left, Bardock explained why he stayed. According to him, all the Saiyans had started training with the new methods Link had introduced. But soon new problems began to show up. One big issue was that there wasnt enough healing devices on Planet Vegeta.

In the past, the Saiyans never learned how to make their own technology. Most of the high-tech equipment on the planet had been stolen or traded from other planets. When they surrendered to Frieza, he sent them three healing devices—the same kind that once treated Goku on Namek. But there are only three devices for thousands of Saiyans, which was clearly not enough.

Link's training plan was an improved mix of the methods used by Goku and Vegeta. Its main goal was to push the Saiyans to their physical limits. Such intense training naturally led to many injuries. If there were plenty of healing devices, this wouldn't be a big problem.

However, the few available devices meant that many Saiyans had to stop their training because they couldn't get treated in time.

"This is my fault.."

Link admitted, realizing something was wrong with his plan.

Hearing this, Bardock quickly said, "Your Majesty, don't worry. I can send people to find a civilization that has the technology for healing devices. If that fails, we can even attack Frieza's planet to seize some."

Link shook his head. "No, what we need isn't a few or even dozens of devices, but at least hundreds, maybe thousands. Leave this matter to me."

Bardock nodded. "Okay."

Shortly after parting ways with Bardock, Link teleported to Earth. Hannasia, wearing a combat uniform with a power detector on her face, came with him. As his new wife, Hannasia was devoted to Link and wanted to follow him everywhere.

"Your Majesty, is this Earth? The gravity here is so low" she said.

"Yes, this is Earth..."

Link looked around at the familiar yet slightly different surroundings. It was his first time on Earth since arriving in the Dragon Ball world. Being a Saiyan now, he felt little emotion for Earth.

But Earth was the heart of the Dragon Ball story—and a key part of his plan for the future Saiyan empire. According to the original lore, hybrids of Saiyans and Earthlings have more potential than pure-blooded Saiyans.

That is why Link had long planned to build ties between the two planets. Now, needing more healing equipment, he advanced his journey to Earth.

Though Raditz once mocked Earth as a backward planet, its level of civilization far exceeded what the Saiyans imagined. Many brilliant inventors lived here.

What Link was after this time was the great inventor Dr. Briefs of West City—Bulma's father and the founder of Capsule Corporation. All the healing equipment the Saiyans needed depended on him.

In no time, Link and Hannasia flew toward West City. Dr. Briefs was not only a genius but also a super-rich person, much like Elon Musk in Link's old world. Because of his fame and wealth, finding his home was easy.

His building was the largest in West City, marked with the Capsule Corporation logo on its top.

After landing, Link was about to knock on the door when he suddenly heard crying coming from inside.

"Don't be afraid—don't be afraid Bulma! Bikini, watch over Bulma for me!"

Inside, Dr. Briefs was standing protectively in front of his wife and daughter. In front of them, an old man on crutches led three rough-looking men .

Several security guards from Capsule Corporation were nearby. The old man sneered, "Alright, Dr. Briefs, as long as you come with us, we won't hurt anyone. We'll even return your other daughter to you!"

"Other... daughter? Did you kidnap her?" Dr. Briefs exclaimed.

"That's right. Make your choice quickly—Dr. Briefs, we are getting impatient!" The old man banged his crutch on the ground.

But then, a voice came from the side, "Sorry, Dr. Briefs can't go with you."

"Who?" He turned and saw two people—a man and a woman—walking in. They wore strange armor-like clothes.

"Dear, are they your friends?" Mrs. Briefs asked, confused.

"No, I don't know them!" Dr. Briefs replied, clearly puzzled.

What was happening today? Not only had some guys appeared along with Dr. Kochin who said one of Dr. Briefs' assistants, Dr. Wheelo, who had been missing for a long time, who apparently wanted to "see" him. But now two strangers he had never seen showed up unexpectedly.

Behind Mrs. Briefs, a little girl with twin ponytails peeked out and looked at the newcomers with curiosity.

The person who had entered was none other than Link. After a quick look around, he picked up on the clues. He recognized the man who wanted to take Dr. Briefs away.

If he remembered correctly, that person should be Mr. Wheelo, also known as Dr. W, he is a brilliant human scientist and the main antagonist in the movie Dragon Ball Z: The World's Strongest.

Link's mind raced. He recalled that in the movie, Dr. Kochin worked for a scientist called Dr. Wheelo who tried to use the body of the strongest man on Earth for his own dark plan.

But that plan had been ruined long ago. Now, Dr. Kochin's sudden appearance, along with these strangers, hinted at trouble brewing once again.
