Chapter 13: AN UNEXPECTED REUNION IN THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO
The sun was setting over Kinshasa, casting a golden glow over the city. The Democratic Republic of Congo was buzzing with excitement as preparations were underway for a massive concert—an event that would bring together renowned artists from around the world. The visionary producer, Madame Plam's, had organized this spectacular event to celebrate cultural diversity and give artists a platform to connect with a global audience.
Among the invited artists were Dylan, Thomas, and Jasper, whose fame had skyrocketed over the years. This concert was an incredible opportunity for them—a chance to explore new cultures and share their passion with thousands of African fans.
However, what they didn't know was that among the performers was Diana—the girl they had once known, loved, and lost.
On her side, Diana was equally thrilled about this event. Her late uncle had often spoken to her about Congo's rich musical heritage. Performing here was more than just another concert; it was a way to honor his memory and experience a part of the world she had never explored.
But neither Dylan nor Diana had any idea that they were about to share the same stage.

Arrival in Kinshasa
The artists were accommodated in a luxurious hotel in the heart of the city—a peaceful retreat contrasting with Kinshasa's vibrant streets. Madame Plam's had planned a tight schedule: interviews, rehearsals, and meetups with local artists. Everything was meticulously organized to ensure a breathtaking show.
Dylan and his team arrived at the hotel, peering curiously out of their car windows at the lively streets.
— "This place is amazing," Jasper murmured in awe.
— "I can't wait to discover the local music scene," Thomas added.
Dylan, however, remained silent. He felt an odd sensation—a strange familiarity he couldn't explain. Something in the air stirred memories he couldn't quite grasp.
At the same time, Diana arrived at the hotel. Dressed in an elegant white jumpsuit, she stepped out of her car, taking a deep breath of the warm evening air. She was eager to perform, but more than anything, she was excited to meet the other artists.

Rehearsals
The next morning, rehearsals took place at the massive stadium where the concert would be held. Technicians were bustling about, adjusting lights and sound equipment. Artists took turns on stage, fine-tuning their performances.
Dylan, Thomas, and Jasper stepped onto the stage for their first rehearsal. The sight of the enormous stadium filled with journalists and crew members was overwhelming. But the moment the music started, their energy exploded. Performing was second nature to them.
Moments later, it was Diana's turn. She walked confidently onto the stage, gripping her microphone. As soon as she sang the first note, silence fell. Her voice was mesmerizing.
Dylan, still backstage with his friends, froze when he heard her sing. A shiver ran down his spine.
— "That voice…" he muttered.
— "What?" Jasper asked.
— "Nothing… It just… sounds familiar."
He tried to shake off the feeling. After all, he had met so many artists over the years. But deep inside, something told him that this voice belonged to someone from his past.
Diana, focused on her performance, paid no attention to the artists waiting backstage. For her, this concert was another stepping stone in her career—nothing else mattered.

A Missed Recognition… For Now
That evening, Madame Plam's hosted a dinner for the performers. A large table was set on a terrace overlooking the Congo River. Laughter and conversation filled the air as artists got to know each other.
Dylan, Thomas, and Jasper sat at one end of the table, engaged in a lively discussion with fellow musicians. Diana was seated a few chairs away, deep in conversation with a Congolese artist.
Fate played with them, placing them mere meters apart without them recognizing each other.
At one point, Madame Plam's stood up to give a toast.
— "Tonight, we celebrate music, diversity, and the incredible talent gathered here. This concert will be historic, and I'm honored to bring these amazing artists together!"
Applause erupted. Dylan and Diana raised their glasses at the same time, their eyes almost meeting… but a waiter passed between them at that moment, blocking their view.
Chance seemed to be delaying their reunion once more.

The Grand Concert
The stadium was packed. Thousands of fans filled the seats, chanting in excitement. Giant screens displayed live footage of the artists, and dazzling lights illuminated the grand stage.
Dylan, Thomas, and Jasper were backstage, preparing. The adrenaline rush was real, but they knew that the moment they stepped onto the stage, their nerves would disappear.
On the other side, Diana was finishing her final touch-ups. She was ready to give a performance to remember.
As the show kicked off, the crowd roared in excitement. Each artist delivered electrifying performances.
Then, it was time for Dylan and his band to perform. The moment their music began, the audience was swept away. Diana, waiting for her turn backstage, listened casually… until Dylan's voice echoed through the stadium.
Her heart stopped.
— "That voice…" she whispered.
A chill ran down her spine. She knew this voice. She had heard it before… but where?
At the same moment, Dylan had experienced the exact same reaction when he had heard Diana sing.
Without seeing each other, without realizing it yet, their souls were already remembering.
Fate had brought them together once more, but the revelation of their past connection was still waiting to unfold.
It was only a matter of time.
