Chapter 367: Ch-367: Technique hall
Upon hearing this, the disciple swallowed a mouthful of saliva nervously. Even the elder looked surprised and stepped forward to inspect their robes and badges, confirming that they were genuine.
"Then... why were you wearing Outer Court robes in the first place?" the disciple asked, cold sweat forming on his forehead.
"As I said, we were only recently promoted. We didn't have time to change, so we came straight to the Technique Hall," Wang Ming replied, then continued, enjoying the disciple's pale expression.
"I was about to inform you that we're Core Disciples, but before I could even change into the new robes, you started causing trouble," Wang Ming said, rolling his eyes at the panicked disciple.
"Now, can we go, or do you still want to fight?" Wang Ming asked calmly.
"N-No, Senior, please go inside!" the disciple said hurriedly as Wang Ming and the girls walked into the hall under the watchful eyes of the elder and the other disciples.
"This is why I always tell you to control your arrogance," the elder said sternly, looking at the disciple. "It will bring disaster one day. Now leave."
The disciple bowed his head and bolted out in fear.
---
After dealing with the troublesome issue, they entered the building. As they stepped inside, they were greeted by a humongous metal door inscribed with various arrays. All of them tensed slightly when a yellow light shot out from the door, enveloping them. If they hadn't sensed that the light held no malicious intent, they would have instinctively jumped back to avoid it. The light completely surrounded them but caused no harm.
Scanning...
No fraud detected.
Five Core Disciples detected.
'Hah, there's something like AI in the cultivation world?' Wang Ming raised an eyebrow in surprise upon hearing the mechanical voice coming from the door.
Creak—
The massive door slowly split open, and they walked through it.
"This..." Bai Lingxi was left speechless by the scene before her. The other girls were also stunned—even Wang Ming couldn't hide his surprise.
The view inside was completely different from the exterior. It felt like they had stepped into an entirely different world.
The interior of the building was baffling in its luxury, a sharp contrast to the plain exterior. It resembled the lavish mansion of a high-ranking cultivator or noble.
Only Min Li, who came from one of the top families in the Black Bamboo Kingdom, remained calm, not showing much outward emotion. Her family's personal treasury was also extravagant, though even she was surprised inwardly by the luxurious atmosphere.
They were greeted by a beautiful young woman wearing what appeared to be Inner Court disciple robes. Aside from her, there were no other disciples present, no scrolls on display near the entrance, and curiously, no visible stairs. The group briefly wondered about the layout but pushed those thoughts aside and walked toward the reception desk.
"Welcome to the Technique Hall. Please place your hands on this crystal ball—it will judge your qualifications," the young disciple at the table said, then brought out a crystal ball.
'I thought being a Core Disciple would grant me access to all the techniques,' Wang Ming thought with a slight frown. After all, Core Disciples were among the highest-ranking members of the sect, even outranking some elders.
"You must be a newly promoted Core Disciple," the young woman said with a smile, noticing his confused expression. "You're probably thinking that all Core Disciples have unrestricted access to every technique, right?"
"Indeed, you're correct. Also, where did the other disciples go? I don't see any stairs or other exits here," Wang Ming asked, his curiosity piqued.
"They went upstairs," the young woman replied calmly.
'Upstairs?' Wang Ming thought. There must be a hidden entrance. From the outside, this building was massive—there's no way this is the only room.
The young woman continued her explanation. "You see, even Core Disciples don't have access to all techniques. Some are restricted to the Sect Master, Supreme Elders, or Peak Masters. Core Disciples must receive high-level clearance to access top-tier techniques."
Wang Ming nodded in understanding.
"Please place your hand on the crystal orb and channel your spiritual energy," the young lady instructed. She tapped the ring on her finger, and a smaller crystal orb appeared atop it.
Wang Ming and the girls nodded and, one by one, injected their spiritual energy into the orb as instructed.
"Nothing's happening..." Shi Yu mumbled with a frown.
But then, something unexpected occurred. The orb on the young lady's ring suddenly glowed golden—then quickly dimmed. This happened five times in a row.
The young woman's eyes widened in shock, and she stood frozen for a moment, stunned by what she had just witnessed.
"Hey, are you alright?" Bai Lingxi asked with a frown as she noticed the young woman standing rooted in place, seemingly in shock. Her voice brought the woman out of her reverie.
"You... you all are incredibly lucky to be favored by the Sect Master. This is the first time I've ever seen not one, but five disciples granted full access to every technique in the hall," the young lady said in astonishment, still staring at them as she wondered about their backgrounds to be given such privilege.
"There were no Core Disciples with the same privilege before us?" Bai Lingxi asked curiously.
"Maybe there were before I was assigned here, but I've been working in this hall for many years and have never seen anyone with such access," the young woman replied, shrugging her shoulders.
"Anyway, take these rings. They've been created by the orb and are temporarily bound to each of you, so no one else can use them. Also, as the person in charge here, I can't misuse my authority to grant techniques to others using them," she explained indifferently. The rings were generated directly by the orb and would shatter the moment they left the hall, preventing unauthorized use.
Throom—
As soon as they wore the rings on their fingers, the walls trembled, and before their eyes, a hidden staircase appeared.
