Dusk (BL Light Novel)

chapter 90

When the order was given, the Viajok players ignored the separated Jeojajok frontline and pushed through to the midline. The Jeojajok frontline was completely severed. With the defensive line gone, the second line, which was packed with damage dealers and healers, was forced to become the new frontline.
Now that both sides had similar formations, the battle became a simple firepower contest, and with Viajok having more players, they gained the upper hand almost instantly.
The frontline tanks, who had recovered from their status effects, tried to hold back the advancing Viajok forces, but they were too far from the main line to make a real impact. Meanwhile, the Viajok players pushed forward relentlessly, taking down the Jeojajok players one by one, driving them steadily back toward the 27th base.

With that single push I made, the Jeojajok faction had been completely driven back. Honestly, I hadn’t expected it to work. If anything, with Gang Jaegyung involved, I thought it was more likely to fail. But with no other option, it was worth a shot.
If it were Gang Jaegyung, he probably would have noticed the situation sooner, but he was playing an unfamiliar class, so his response was delayed. Or maybe he did give orders, but the players still got pushed back. If he had been a Harmonizer, he could have used status effect resistance skills to prevent the frontline from being scattered, but as a Paladin, he didn’t have anything like that. He must have felt powerless.
Amidst the chaos, I leisurely scanned the battlefield for Gang Jaegyung. He was definitely at the frontline, so by now…

I rotated the camera to where I estimated he would be. And there he was — Retaking a Class, standing firm among a cluster of Viajok players. Still holding on with half his health remaining. Persistent, as always.
Now, what was it that Gang Jaegyung always told tanks to use first? Virus II, V, LII, and for Research Virus, it was IV and XXI, right?
[Battle] You used Research Virus III on Retaking a Class, dealing 525 damage.

I happily skipped toward Gang Jaegyung, spamming skills as I went. The moment he noticed me, he switched his target to my character, but the Viajok players around him weren’t giving him a chance to do anything to me.
[Battle] You used Virus I on Retaking a Class, dealing 679 damage.
[Battle] You used Flu Virus on Retaking a Class, dealing 1,032 damage.
Gang Jaegyung had likely gotten used to 1v1 fights, but against a crowd, he was still inexperienced. Like a sitting duck, he took every one of my virus skills head-on.

I generously showered him with defense-based DoTs instead of health-based ones, given that he was a health tank. Then, as soon as the cooldowns expired, I started casting the same DoT skills again, taunting him in the process.
As the saying goes, even the toughest guy can’t handle a gang-up. In the end, Gang Jaegyung couldn’t withstand the combined assault and fell.
I didn’t land the finishing blow, but a win in a faction war was a win.

I crouched down in front of the freshly spawned orb of light, just as Gang Jaegyung had done to me earlier.
What was it he asked me before? Oh yeah — how to avoid Capture.
I tapped away at the keyboard, a benevolent smile spreading across my face.

[Normal] Honeybread: How to avoid Capture.
[Normal] Honeybread: You avoid Capture.
[Normal] Honeybread: And...
I added one last line.

[Normal] Honeybread: Your class is awesome, by the way ^^
Okay, that’s enough interaction. Time to move on.
Title: 27th Base Faction War Was Hilarious

Retaking a Class was supposed to be tanking on the frontline, but he kept using off-field skills to protect the frontline allies.
Meanwhile, Honeybread, who’s a healer, got so frustrated watching the allies get pushed back that he started tanking.

【Best Comment】 The reason Retaking a Class lost this faction war is probably because he can tank as a healer but can't heal as a tank.
└ Hahahahahahahahaaa
└ Hahah
└ If Paladins had healing skills, Retaking a Class would have saved everyone, for real.
The moment Honeybread charged in, he got marked as the primary target. How the hell did he survive that? I can’t sleep until I know.
└ [Author] The other healers gave up healing everyone else and focused only on Honeybread.
└ I was one of the healers… I gritted my teeth and spammed heals and barriers like crazy
└ (*typo correction)
└ My bad ㅠ
└ Seriously, they were healing with everything they hadㅋㅋㅋ Otherwise, he would’ve died for sure. A couple of Harmonizers actually died from stress because they burned through all their mana and stress resourcesㅋㅋㅋ
Honeybread’s formation tanking was insane.
└ He really knows how to assert dominance. He was basically a tank out there.
└ Every time there’s a faction war, Viajok is always the one pushing, and Jeojajok is the one defending like hell — all because Honeybread keeps pushing.
└ It’s fascinating how he separates the frontline and secures advantageous positions (*like playing a game of territory control). When I try the same thing, I either get melted instantly or the enemy doesn’t budge.
└ Maybe it’s because they’ve been screwed over by Honeybread so many times that just the sight of him is enough to make them flinch.
└ Also, the way he uses his skills while pushing is kinda terrifying… it’s hard not to hesitate.
└  (Agree)

Retaking a Class tried to give orders in area chat, but they got drowned out by everyone else shouting their own orders.
└ Seriously, the area chat was a complete mess with everyone screaming commands. Retaking a Class’s orders got lost in the noise. He tried to give orders again in tribe chat and general chat, but by then, it was already too late.
└ Retaking a Class must have figured it out, though. Even while things were chaotic, he kept telling everyone to ignore Honeybread and hold their positions.
└ He mentioned it on the stream too. Said that if they hadn’t fallen apart right there, they could’ve won.
└ Retaking a Class must have been so frustrated, watching his teammates hesitate like that.
└ He sounded really pissed, but was trying to hold it together, like, “Well, yeah… that can happen…” But you could tell he was seething.
└ Also, people probably got complacent because they assumed Honeybread was still using a Harmonizer. When he acted like he was targeting the midline but actually knocked back the frontline, splitting them apart — that was just a really well-executed move. If the frontline players had pushed forward to cover the midline, they might have held on longer.
Both of them were playing classes they weren’t used to, but they still did pretty well in a faction war… just how good are these guys?
└ They’re both kinda clumsy with it, but they know exactly what they need to doㅋㅋㅋ Guess their Dusk experience is carrying them through.
└ It’s kinda cute how they’re both stumbling through it.
└ But you can tell neither of them is really suited for their current class. Retaking a Class is frustrated with the slow, heavy-hitting Paladin, and Honeybread’s more of a “hit first, think later” type than a strategist.
Why the hell do they run these faction wars in the middle of a weekday afternoon?
└ Seriously, man. I’m at work during that time.

Title: ㅋㅋㅋ Retaking a Class Is Desperate to Go Back to Harmonizer
Author: [Jeojajok] GrilledEggsAreDelicious
It was hilarious watching Honeybread use Harmonizer skills and Retaking a Class getting so frustrated, like, “You’re supposed to use this skill here; why would you use that one? Why are you doing ◈ Nоvеlіgһт ◈ (Continue reading) that?!”
I was dying every time he asked that.

Pretty sure I saw him say in tribe chat that he at least knew the basics of the Harmonizer class, but I’m starting to doubt what his definition of “basics” is.
└ [Author] It’s probably just that he knows which buttons to press.
└ The only reason he survived that long is because he has great instincts. Without that, he would’ve been obliterated.
So why exactly isn’t he going back to Harmonizer?
└ [Author] Hell if I know.

After the decisive faction war victory, I locked my Harmonizer weapon back into the weapon storage, where it belonged.
Hours passed, and it was well past 2 AM. I was parked in the guild house, listening to Gang Jaegyung chat with his viewers before ending his stream.

That’s when I heard it — the ominous, heavy footsteps approaching from behind me. Even through the headset, the pounding was loud enough to send vibrations up my spine.
Like a cockroach reacting to a survival threat, my memory and IQ instantly shot up as I replayed the events of my day.
Shit. I didn’t go to the gym. Didn’t eat. I was too busy messing around in that faction war with Gang Jaegyung…

The moment that realization hit, the door burst open with a bang.
I hastily threw off my headset and tried to squeeze myself under the desk.
“Hey!”

I hunched my body as much as possible, trying to make myself small. But there was no way my six-foot frame was going to fit under there. Worse, she had already seen me sliding under the desk.
The dress pants and shoes that entered my line of sight strode directly toward me. The chair was kicked aside, and a thunderous voice came down from above.
A hand like a spider reached down and grabbed me by the back of the neck.

“Ah! Wait, noona, hold on—”
“Get out. You think you’re hiding? You think your big ass is hidden in there?”
“I’ll come out, I’ll come out! I’m stuck, though, so stop pulling—OW!”

I knew full well that hiding wouldn’t solve anything… but fear is fear.
After being forcibly dragged out from under the desk, I rubbed my bruised shoulder and elbow, eyeing my sister warily. Flames of rage practically blazed from her eyes.
“You didn’t eat today. Or go to the gym.”

“Today? That was yesterday, actually…”
“Ssht.”
My mouth snapped shut. I’d grown up getting scolded by her instead of my mom, who was always busy working, so to me, my sister was the scariest person in the world.

“The food is still on the table, untouched. You were playing that game again instead of eating, weren’t you?”
“Yeah…”
“Didn’t I tell you to eat at least two meals a day?”

“You did…”
“And okay, fine, maybe you skip the gym for a day. But you still need to eat, don’t you?”
“I’ll eat right now.”

“That’s a given.”
I tried to offer a solution, but all that got me was more scolding. And it didn’t take long for her to unleash a barrage of nagging.
