DxD: Hero x Gacha

A mysterious entity floats above a replica of New York, there are no people, no living plants or animals, not even the tiniest insects exist here. In front of the entity are 3 different orbs, 1 seems plain like pure light, another seems oddly powerful, pulsing with a strong wave of energy, and the last seems to have two energies fighting for dominance

'It's been a thousand years in the making but my first show is about to begin... luckily I was able to contact that lower deity about a 3 for 1 bargain sell on souls. Idoit.'

The mysterious entity peeks into the plain one, it was quite the disappointment when this one fell into its lap but it will make the best of what it has.

'Sam Barnes? Normal enough name for someone living in his country, no real uniqueness so far.'

As the show continues, it shows a young boy reveling in the everyday, his pure essence seemed contagious, he was well liked and popular. That was until his neighbor moved in. An athlete with an ego problem, the same age as Sam, seeing Sam hog the spotlight had him scheme deeply to dismantle the boy who had everything.

Overtime, the athlete starting becoming friends with Sam until they could be considered Best Friends. But then the real issue started, the Athlete undermined Sam's confidence, his usual antics to be the center of attention started to fade. The bully used soft tactics, convincing Sam slowly that he was a nerd if his grades were high or that no one liked a show off in their physical games. Sam started losing his uniqueness, his spark to stand out and be truly him. The worst of the bullies antics started in high-school, the bully had ingrained Sam into thinking like he wanted and still was considered a friend, but rumors started when the Bully's crush started seeing the real Sam under all the hidden manipulation. Slowly, the bully drew a narrative that Sam was a harasser and molester. But still, that didn't deter the girl. The Bully's plan went further, planting evidence of his crimes as Sam's instead. After that, no one believed Sam and kept him at arms length. Sam was drowning in loneliness but his 'friend' was always there to remind that he had his back... that liar. Soon as the incidents slowly left the public's mind, another rumor came out, this one targeted Sam yet again. He was rumored as Gay and stalking the bully. Students and Teachers along with Parents called for justice as Sam lost the one 'friend' he thought he had.

Due to that incident, Sam was sent to several therapists who didn't believe what they were told, not really. As a result, Sam's parents who had been convinced by the bully, sent their son away to a military camp for teens.

Luckily, with no one to manipulate the public, Sam's life got better, he was still an awkward mess due to his own problems due to the manipulative Bully but he was slowly getting better. Once the military camp ended, he was sent home, only to find the worst. His parents shunned him, his only 'friend' had cut ties, and there was a warrant out for his arrest.

The Bully was never satisfied, he wanted to ruin Sam, it had become an obsession, while Sam was away he had placed damping evidence of molesting and assault. Pictures, the victim saying it was Sam in a recording, all sorts of things.

As Sam was hauled away, he spent 2 years in juvenile detention before being released due to the victim clarifying out of guilt that it was the Bully.

Sam now free from the torment and betrayal of what he once thought his closest ally, decided to cut ties with the whole situation as he moved to a new city to start fresh.

As he finally started to settle in? His Soul was snatched by the guardian deity for trade.

"What the hell? How is this guys soul so pure after all that?" The mysterious screamed into the still scene of the barren new York

"Most humans would have been corrupted years before his soul was snatched! But it is sorta.. eye catching, I have the perfect scenario for this poor sod."

The mysterious entity pulled out a contract of chaos as it inscribed it into the pure soul

Hello Guys! Alex here.

It has been a bit! Shit hit the fan as I started writing last week and I just lost motivation for a brief bit. BUT now is the start of the rewrite.

I decided to do this one first and keep the old chapters up and around since they had some good comments. I'll add bold letters to their titles to let new readers skip to the new stuff though.

But I finally got Sam's backstory on paper as it was initially just a very vague concept. I will also be adding some things to the Gacha system, not items or abilities but just narrative things to make more sense of stuff.

Anyway~ you'll be getting rewrite chapters up to chapter 25 before weekly stuff comes into play! Probably more as 25 chapters will take me all week or more.
