After being forced earlier to share her carefully accumulated treasure due to her friend's unexpected visit, Nagisa seized the first opportunity that evening to thoroughly replenish her supply.
A few minutes later, the previously pervasive scent of heather slowly dissipated from the living room air.
Inside the open kitchen adjacent to the living room, Nagisa lay sprawled over the countertop.
It was officially her "midnight snack" time.
The countertop wasn't exactly spacious. Originally designed merely for preparing food or temporarily placing cooking ingredients, it was essentially a square platform about one meter on each side, located conveniently beside the stove and sink.
Clearly, the limited space wasn't enough for Nagisa to lie down completely. Although petite, she wasn't small enough to comfortably fit her whole body atop it.
Therefore, to fully savor her "snack," Nagisa could only lean forward, placing her upper body onto the countertop. Her arms bent forward slightly, fingers gripping the counter's edge tightly.
From her waist down, her body bent at a sharp right angle, legs dangling over the edge. Her toes hovered about ten or fifteen centimeters off the floor, brushing lightly against the cabinet doors below.
From behind her, slightly above, Bokue's voice floated down.
"Why exactly are you suggesting I stay at Yukina's place?"
"To help you two develop your bond, obviously… why else…?"
Nagisa's fingers tightened around the countertop edge, knuckles turning pale from exertion. Her voice wavered slightly, matching the rhythmic motion coursing through her body.
"Big Brother… You haven't forgotten, right…? Yukina-chan discovered our secret today. If this continues, sooner or later she'll figure out what's really happening. So, before she realizes the truth, we should… bring her to our side… as an accomplice."
"'Accomplice,' huh…?"
"Or… ally? Well, whatever you prefer to call it—same difference, really…"
Unable to properly glance back, Nagisa turned her head ever so slightly, gazing upward from the corner of her eyes. Her voice softened alluringly, dripping with playful seduction.
"Besides… doesn't Big Brother secretly want to mess Yukina-chan up too?"
"You know, I feel my image has gotten pretty distorted in your eyes," Bokue sighed, amused by Nagisa's blatantly scandalous suggestion. Nonetheless, his pace quickened slightly, eliciting an involuntary gasp from the girl on the countertop.
"I'm… I'm being totally serious here…" Nagisa managed to stammer between shallow breaths. "And… Yukina-chan… lives just next door. If we keep doing this… getting caught eventually… isn't entirely impossible. Big Brother… trust a woman's intuition, okay?"
"Alright, alright~ We'll talk more about it later."
Deciding she'd spoken enough for now, Bokue leaned in closer, gently clasping her small hands still clutching the countertop edge. Holding them securely, he guided her higher and deeper into the rhythm of their shared moment.

Meanwhile, right next door…
In Yukina Himeragi's bedroom, the bedside lamp softly illuminated the space. Yukina leaned against her pillows, propped up on her bed.
Nearly three hours had passed since dinner. Although today's events at Keystone Gate had delayed her schedule somewhat, for Yukina—a Sword Shaman raised in simple, disciplined routines—now was usually bedtime.
After all, the Lion King Organization's shrine was nestled deep in the mountains near Kyoto's Mount Ooe. In such remote surroundings, night fell early. Without computers, televisions, or similar distractions, bedtime naturally arrived shortly after sundown.
But tonight, Yukina wasn't quite ready for sleep.
Instead, she sat with a baking magazine titled "Cake-Making & Baking Guide" open in her lap, carefully studying each step intently.
As previously noted, Yukina's culinary skills as a Sword Shaman revolved around wilderness survival rather than gourmet baking. Her knowledge mostly covered simple home cooking and edible wild plants.
Yet, since she'd promised Nagisa they'd bake a cake together soon, she thought it necessary to familiarize herself in advance. Yukina intended to memorize every single step from this guide before bed tonight.
However—
"Bi…Big Brother… Nagisa's… flying…!"
A muffled, faint, yet shockingly enthusiastic voice filtered indistinctly through the thick walls. Yukina startled slightly, certain she recognized that voice.
Nagisa…?
The voice was incredibly faint. Even in the quiet of night, Yukina had difficulty making out the exact words, but she clearly recognized Nagisa's voice. The activity next door sounded surprisingly… intense. Even more confusingly, Nagisa sounded as if she were deeply enjoying herself.
Before she realized what she was doing, Yukina subconsciously closed the baking magazine, setting it aside. With curious confusion overtaking her disciplined mind, she instinctively strained her ears, paying close attention to the exciting and confusing noises from next door.
What exactly was Nagisa doing over there…?
In normal circumstances, hearing such loud, intense commotion from a friend's apartment would immediately prompt Yukina to rush over and check on her friend's safety.
Yet Nagisa's muffled cries didn't seem to indicate distress—rather, intense pleasure. Additionally, she caught fragmented words like "Big Brother," and "flying."
Was Bokue-senpai… there as well?
The thought made Yukina's pulse quicken.
Rationally, she knew it was unlikely. After all, Bokue had a notorious reputation as an idle loafer, consistently avoiding proper responsibilities. Even during their supposed missions together, he rarely appeared promptly or stuck around long enough.
But if Bokue really were next door right now, and Nagisa was crying out so intensely… exactly what were they doing?
Yukina's pure, innocent mind failed to conjure a clear picture, yet an unfamiliar tension stirred inside her. A strange restlessness crept beneath her skin, urging her to act.
Unconsciously, Yukina slipped the baking magazine onto her bedside table, sliding her hand tentatively beneath her blankets, quietly addressing the newfound ache in her core.
Immediately, relief replaced restlessness, warmth flooding her senses. Her body seemed to move on instinct, continuing silently, softly, beneath the gentle glow of the bedside lamp.
