Chapter 258: Sun Monarch
The Elf Kingdom was retaken, the culmination of my promise with Anna and Alana.
So far, after months of hard work, only a bit over thirty per cent of the continent had abolished slavery. That 30 was a great chunk of the Sloane Theocracy's territory as well as the Elf Kingdom, together with a great part of the underwater colonies around the continent that Galadriel had fred.
This task would take the longest without a doubt, but I'd stay here overseeing it. It was only a matter of time, and the faster our numbers increased and this religion spread, the quicker it would be done.
All according to Tsunade's plan, it was flawless.
However, due to changing circumstances, certain parts of the plan could be skipped.
Our objective all along was to make this world into an experiment of sorts. How many chaos points would I be able to obtain as an overgod if the world as a whole worshipped me?
Tsunade had studied Draconic Deus, our previous world, during the time she was there, and she concluded that executing this experiment there would be very difficult due to the variety of deities and gods that evenly spread worship in the land, gods who have existed for thousands of years.
The Shinto Faction, The Nords, The three Biblical Factions, The Greek Pantheon, the Hindu Faction, the Dragon Kings, the Chinese Gods... and a lot more, all of those groups of gods zapped faith out of humanity. Making a name for myself there would be difficult. It wasn't a task that could be completed with mere strength.
'Your quickest method would be to usurp the place of the extinct Egyptian Gods. However, I'm afraid that by what Google-san is telling me, those gods have long ago lost relevance' Tsunade told me once.
I could also receive faith from two other sources: The Heavens, as I am the main God, I receive worship from Catholics and all Christian branches; also, as Amaterasu's husband, I also receive faith from the Leylines of Japan.
For other gods, like Amaterasu, faith translated to an increase of strength and authority, but for me, for reasons that we don't yet know, this faith has had little to no effect on me whatsoever. Elysir's conclusion to this was that the world's faith was 'very weak' as to affect me even when I was just a High God, much less now that I am an Overgod.
Elysir had no qualm in calling the gods of that world 'extremely weak' and blamed it on the faith being spread into so many outlets.
'The most logical answer would be for a god or pantheon to eliminate all others and garner all faith on themselves, but these cowardly gods seem to have settled for peace'.
We could only try with this fantastical world where religion plays an even bigger role than in a modern society. We presume those gods were slaughtered by Avarice, just like the Midnight Elves and the Dragons. This world was abandoned... only their corrupted religions remained, perverted by humans into their own convenience.
It was that perversion that made this plan possible. Tsunade said that, because of the injustices of this world, it was possible to sway the human heart into worshipping me. However, to do so, a common evil was necessary. An evil that I, the Sun God, would fight to bring back order into this world.
And that common evil was precisely marching towards the west of the Elf Kingdom with his undead army, Ains Ooal Gown.
When I landed together with Galadriel and Elysir, it was a massacre going on. However, the one performing the massacre was not Ains Ooal Gown.
Anna's resistance army was well boosted, and they were frankly a bit scary.
They had received a blessing from Ophis to increase physical strength, a blessing from Elysir to increase magic power and Armatista from me to, well... increase those two a bit more.
As a result, there was an army of at least a thousand mixed-race ex-slaves that could each take on at least an Orialchum-ranked adventurer... and those were the weakest, the strongest could easily trash an Adamantite-ranked adventurer.
Naturally, such a power could cause heavy strain in the body and soul, so this boost could only be used once. Ains Ooal Gown was just unlucky enough to decide to show up now. But well, such is fate.
The werebeasts in particular were the most gruesome. They tore those skull knights to shreds and devoured their bones. Ains Ooal Gown still had the advantage in numbers; there were so many undead soldiers and knights that I could see them as far as the horizon, still coming from the Argland Council State.
Even with a boosted army, it would still take a long time to eliminate all those numbers. He really came prepared.
I could see him in the distance, flying on top of a corpse dragon while followed by two other dragons, of which one of their aura I could recognise, Vaision.
"Hubby, allow me to deal with this... now that the Elf Kingdom has been taken, with our resources, there is no more time to lose... those younglings don't need to fight" Galadriel approached me in all her beautiful self and pulled my arm.
I looked at Elysir one time, and she shrugged her shoulders, "With Solution here, there is no need for him anymore. However, are you sure? Albedo may be sad".
"Albedo has no say in this", I frowned and shrugged off the feelings of possessiveness that welled up in me when Albedo was mentioned. I allowed Galadriel to do what she wanted to do. Elysir's brows squinted, but she didn't say a word, at least not now.
The midnight elf smiled, kissed my cheek and walked forward amidst the explosions, descending into the battlefield like the goddess she was. And unbeknownst to me, showcasing the first display of power of what would soon come to be the 'Sun Pantheon'.
Galadriel's body transformed back into her blue-skin self, and a storm of light was released from her body.
This storm engulfed the whole battlefield, but it didn't throw anyone off their feet. It was a storm of energy, not wind. And when the storm finished, what greeted all of us with shock was a beautiful midnight elf in the flesh.
A woman, I dare say, at least five hundred metres tall. She was so far above that her head was covered in clouds.
"H-Huh...?"
I remember now. Back then, when we infiltrated this cave and I saw her for the first time, she was certainly big, but I had no way of visualising her real size. Galadriel said all Midnight Elves used to live inside mountains... it all makes sense now.
It was not them being shackled inside the mountain... they were the mountains themselves. There was no one for kilometres around that wasn't looking up at the skies with their neck almost snapping, even the undead knights.
"SAVING CIVILISATIONS OUT OF EXTINCTION, SETTING SLAVES FREE, RESURRECTING DEAD SOULS... AINS OOAL GOWN, MY HUSBAND'S TIME SHOULDN'T BE WASTED IN THE LIKES OF YOU. THIS WORLD NO LONGER HAS SPACE FOR DARK BEINGS".
Galadriel only snapped her fingers, and the whole world began to get dark. I looked around to see what the cause of that was, rain clouds. All the clouds seemed to materialise out of nowhere, all so dark and eerie that it looked like doomsday.
*CHAAA!!*
It all began with one spark in the sky. The lightning wasn't like usual. It wasn't white or blue lightning... it was purple lightning. I felt a tyrannical energy coming from every spark, let alone, it wasn't just electrical energy.
"This is..."
"Soul", Elysir answered for me, crossing her arms beneath her chest. She materialised a pair of glasses from who knows where and gave me one, wearing one herself.
*CHAAA!!*
They started raining down and pouring a catastrophe. There were so many of them falling down and striking those undead straight on the head. Each strike would immediately pulverise one undead, leaving not even dust.
The lightning rained seemingly uncontrollably, but in reality, Anna's army was avoided completely. They were scared at the onslaught falling on them, but not one of them was so much as bruised by one of those lightning strikes.
Not one of them, as far as the horizon, was forgiven.
*BAAANG!!!*
A strike fell on the dragon that Ains Ooal Gown had been mountain, exploding and sending him flying. He cast some sort of spell to glide and teleport away, but he couldn't take his army with him. Let alone, he couldn't truly escape... not as long as I was here.
I waved my hand, and he appeared in front of me in shock.
"Sorry, mate... I own space"
"Osiris!"
He was going to curse me, but then he saw his army crumbling and got into the action. A staff appeared, the staff looked really classy and powerful, and it was also emitting a powerful aura too. It was ridiculous, but there was more power coming out of that staff than out of Ains himself
I waved my magic and snatched the staff away from him casually to inspect it.
"..." He looked at his empty skeletal army, then at my hand holding the staff. He couldn't move or fly; he was fixed in space, under my control.
"What is this thing made of? What are these gems?" I said, but I don't think he could hear me because of the noise of countless lightning strikes falling on his army.
Play time was over; it was time to take over this world smoothly.
