DXD: The Awakening Of Phenex

Chapter 243: Chapter [243]

Amazon Lily

The atmosphere in Amazon Lily was electric, with palpable tension in the air. The great hall of the Kuja Palace was illuminated by torches arranged in a circle, their flames flickering in the breeze that swept through the open space. In the center, Boa Hancock stood tall, flanked by her sisters, Marigold and Sandersonia, and the Kuja warriors, who waited in silence. Merlin, with her imposing presence, observed intently as the ritual preparations took shape.

"Warriors of Amazon Lily," Hancock began, her voice echoing throughout the hall. "Today, under the guidance of Riser-sama, we take a decisive step to ensure our supremacy. This is the moment to transcend our limits."

A murmur spread among the warriors, some exchanging confused looks while others whispered among themselves.

"Who is this Riser-sama?" murmured a young warrior, her tone laced with doubt. "I've never heard of him before. Why are we following his orders?"

"Didn't you read the newspaper?" another replied, crossing her arms and looking directly at the first. "Riser is the one who faced the Navy in Loguetown and defeated Smoker."

"But why would someone like him be interested in us?" questioned a third, furrowing her brow. "What does he really want with Amazon Lily?"

The voices began to rise, confusion taking over the hall as the warriors tried to understand the situation.

BAM!

The sound of Hancock striking her staff against the floor silenced the room instantly. Her eyes gleamed with determination as she scanned each of the warriors present.

"Riser-sama is a powerful ally," Hancock declared, her voice firm and authoritative. "He has seen the potential of Amazon Lily and our people. He is not here to subjugate us but to elevate us. Those who doubt his intentions are underestimating the magnitude of this opportunity."

The warriors stepped back slightly, impressed by Hancock's intensity. Most lowered their heads in respect, while a few still exchanged cautious glances.

Marigold stepped forward, her stance solid as a rock. "Our sister knows what is best for Amazon Lily. Questioning her choices is questioning our own strength and unity."

Sandersonia nodded in agreement, her eyes narrowing at the more hesitant warriors. "If Hancock believes in Riser-sama, then we believe in him as well."

Hancock raised a golden chalice adorned with intertwined serpents, holding it above her head. Her sisters stepped back slightly, giving her space as she brought a small blade to her palm. With a swift and precise motion, she made a superficial cut, allowing her blood to drip into the chalice.

Drip...

The drops of blood fell into the chalice, mixing with the dark liquid already filling part of the vessel. Hancock raised the chalice higher, her eyes fixed on the warriors.

"With this ritual, I show my loyalty to Riser-sama and my commitment to the future of Amazon Lily," she proclaimed, her voice heavy with emotion. "Those who are worthy will also drink from this chalice and share in its strength."

The warriors watched in silence, some still hesitant, but others clearly inspired by Hancock's determination. The leader of the Kuja stepped forward, extending the chalice toward the warriors.

"Who will be the first to prove their loyalty?" Hancock challenged, her eyes glowing with intensity.

For a moment, no one moved. The silence was broken only by the sound of the torches flickering around the hall.

Clang!

A young warrior stepped forward, her armor lightly clinking as she moved. She knelt before Hancock, her expression resolute. "I will drink, Hancock-sama. I trust you and your judgment."

Hancock handed the chalice to the warrior, watching closely as the young woman raised it to her lips and took a hesitant sip. When she finished, she returned the chalice and remained kneeling, her breathing quickening as the effects of the blood began to manifest.

Hum...

A faint energy began to emanate from the warrior, enveloping her in a thin aura. The other Kuja watched with awe and curiosity as the transformation began to take place.

Hancock turned to the rest of the warriors, holding the chalice firmly. "Who will be next to join us?"

The warriors exchanged looks, and slowly, another young woman stepped forward, her gaze fixed on Hancock. "I will drink as well. I want to fight for a stronger future for Amazon Lily."

Hancock smiled slightly and handed the chalice to the new warrior, watching the ritual repeat itself. The aura of power grew with each participant, inspiring the others to overcome their doubts. One by one, the warriors began to approach, forming a line toward the chalice. With each sip, the energy in the hall seemed to pulse with greater intensity.

Merlin, who had remained silent until then, stepped forward, drawing Hancock's attention. "Riser-sama will be pleased with your dedication. However, remember that this is only the beginning. You will still need to master the power you are receiving."

Hancock nodded, her posture firm. "We are ready for any challenge. Riser-sama trusted us, and we will not disappoint him."

Marigold and Sandersonia approached Hancock, their expressions reflecting both pride and determination. "Amazon Lily will be stronger than ever," Marigold declared, as Sandersonia added, "Our island will be a symbol of unshakable strength."

As the ritual continued, the Kuja Palace hall became a stage of transformation and renewal. The warriors, once divided between doubt and loyalty, were now united by a common purpose. Under Hancock's leadership and Riser's guidance, Amazon Lily was ready to face any challenge the future might bring.

In a secluded clearing of Amazon Lily, sounds of intense training echoed through the dense forest. Nojiko and Kaya, under the strict supervision of the Kuja instructors, were immersed in training sessions that tested both their endurance and their emerging abilities as vampires.

"Focus on your breathing, Kaya," an instructor said while adjusting Kaya's posture with the bow. "Stability comes from internal control. Without it, your aim will be inconsistent."

Twang!

Kaya's arrow sliced through the air and hit the center of the target, drawing murmurs of approval from the warriors nearby.

"That was excellent," the instructor praised. "Your precision is impressive for someone still developing combat skills."

Kaya wiped the sweat from her forehead, smiling timidly. "I still feel like I need to improve, but I appreciate the guidance."

Nojiko, a few meters away, training with a short sword and shield, overheard the compliment and let out a brief laugh. "Kaya might be good at aiming, but I'm still trying to get the hang of a basic sequence with this sword," she said, adjusting her stance.

"Your strength is incredible," commented another Kuja warrior, watching Nojiko block a strike with her shield. "But technique requires patience. And you have something many here are still seeking: unwavering resilience."

Clang! Clang!

The metallic sounds of swords echoed through the clearing as Nojiko continued her training. Her hands trembled slightly, but she refused to back down, staring at her instructor with determination.

"This technique... is harder than it looks," Nojiko admitted, panting, but with a glint of stubbornness in her eyes.

"You're doing very well for someone who started so recently," the instructor said with a faint smile. "Few can endure so many rounds without showing signs of exhaustion."

Kaya, now resting after her archery session, looked at Nojiko with an encouraging smile. "I think we're surprising the Kuja. Who would've thought our skills as vampires would be so useful in combat?"

Nojiko nodded, leaning on her shield as she caught her breath. "But we still have a long way to go. If we want to live up to Riser-sama's expectations, we can't settle for what we have now."

The Kuja warriors exchanged respectful glances, recognizing the duo's determination. "You have the spirit of true warriors," said the group's leader with an admiring tone. "With more training, you'll become forces to be reckoned with."

Nojiko stood up, adjusting the sword in her hand. "Then let's keep going. We don't have time to waste."

Kaya raised her bow again, taking her position firmly. "Let's show them what we're capable of."

The two, under the guidance of the Kuja warriors, continued their training, each strike and shot bringing them closer to becoming relentless fighters, ready to face the challenges that awaited beyond the borders of Amazon Lily.
