Chapter 26: Chapter 26: In the End, Still a Slime
Wonder Woman, Frost, and Batgirl apologized to Supergirl, who seemed upset with them.
Ah yes, Wonder Woman managed to recover the Lasso of Truth again. She had been worried about the disappearance of the crimson-haired boy and the Fake Supergirl, who took the Lasso of Truth with them, but it ended up falling from the sky in front of her while she was in a crater formed by the impact of the punch she had taken earlier.
Supergirl seemed upset—after all, her friends, who had studied together with her at the hero school for three years, didn't even recognize her.
"Sorry, Supergirl, the truth is that she said things only you would know, and she was clever enough to say them before you did." Batgirl apologized, blaming herself for being deceived by an imposter.
"Yes, I apologize as well." Wonder Woman sighed, full of guilt.
Looking at Wonder Woman in particular, seeing that she was a little hurt, Supergirl sighed: "Okay, but we need to come up with some kind of code that only we know so this doesn't happen a second time."
"I agree." They all nodded in agreement.
"By the way, now that that's settled." Frost nudged Supergirl with her elbow and asked, "Who was that hottie? You seemed close to him. Don't tell me…" She seemed to realize something, covering her mouth in shock.
"D-Don't think nonsense, Frost!" Supergirl ran after her.
"Hahaha." Frost created ice to escape from her.
"But, Supergirl, even if it's not like that, you do know him, right?" Batgirl asked.
"Yes, it was when I was trying to capture the Fake Santa Claus…"
"Oh, tell us more~!"

Meanwhile, in TSSDK.
[+9,784 AP!]
As soon as he appeared with the Fake Supergirl, the ice around her began to crack while he got distracted for a moment, looking at the AP value he had just received.
The pressure caused by the Fake Supergirl's power was evident, and from what he could see, she seemed to be gaining abilities.
"Rimuru-san!" Zaydas shouted.
At the same time he called out to Rimuru, he reinforced the ice.
"What's all this commotion?!"
A childish voice echoed, and then a Slime with bat wings flew over to Zaydas.
"You're back…" His words trailed off as he saw the ice sculpture: "S-Supergirl?!"
"I knew it, you recognize her." Zaydas said. "Yes, you could say she is Supergirl, but at the same time, she isn't."
"What's going on here, Zaydas-kun?" Rimuru asked.
"She was once human, but her obsession with Supergirl led her to undergo numerous surgeries, dye her hair, dress just like her… Her fixation was so intense that she ended up being consumed by it, becoming a distorted version of Supergirl. However, she was no longer human," Zaydas explained.
"Obsession, becoming a distorted version?" Rimuru was confused.
And who wouldn't be? He didn't know about the DC AU dimension, after all. He had barely learned about the world he was currently in…
"That said, I want to offer her to you," Zaydas said. "Rimuru-san, everything I said is true. And I brought her to you to test that theory of mine. If you do this, it's quite possible that you'll gain a human form, even though, essentially, she is a monster. What do you say?"
"I..." Looking at the woman dressed as Supergirl inside the ice sculpture, Rimuru hesitated.
He missed having a human appearance, but consuming another person was a bit...
'Wait, is she really a monster in human appearance?' Rimuru asked. 'Great Sage, what do you think? Can you analyze her?'
{Analyzing life form... Analysis complete!
Species identified: entity from another dimension. Classification: third-phase monster.
Records indicate that she was once human.
First phase: partial loss of humanity detected.
Second phase: humanity completely eliminated. Full transition to a monstrous form.
Third phase: though still a monster, enhanced intelligence identified.}
After hearing the Great Sage's full analysis, Rimuru said, "I accept!"
"Then, feel free to devour her," Zaydas replied, taking a few steps back. "Be quick—she's almost breaking free from the ice. And while I was able to defeat her earlier, it was mostly thanks to the element of surprise."
"I have several questions I'd like to ask, but... fine. I'll leave them for later," Rimuru responded.
Then, his body transformed into a wave of blue slime, slowly spreading until it completely enveloped the ice.
The blue slime surrounding the Fake Supergirl started getting hit—hands and feet appeared, trying to pierce through Rimuru's body.
However, even when a hand emerged, it was quickly engulfed.
Zaydas created an ice shield in front of him as a laser blast shot in his direction.
Thinking quickly, he created several magic circles in the air, raising a barrier.
Not even a minute after the barrier was set up, a laser was fired toward the Goblin village.
The laser tore through the ground and everything in its path, leaving a dreadful scar with burning red edges.
Praising himself, Zaydas watched as Rimuru was frozen, but then he began to ignite, melting the ice.
The battle continued for nearly two hours.
Several trees were knocked down, laser marks scarred the ground.
It was pure chaos.
'Luckily, I raised a barrier...' Zaydas broke into a light sweat.
Even though he had only known Rimuru for a short time, he valued their friendship. The two had quickly gotten along as if they had known each other for years. Because of that, he didn't want to do anything that might jeopardize their bond.
Suddenly, the Fake Supergirl stopped fighting... Or rather, she lost the battle against Rimuru.
Shrinking down, Rimuru returned to his original form.
"Ahh, that was tough..." Rimuru's tired voice echoed.
He didn't even know how many times the Great Sage had to come up with ways to neutralize the Fake Supergirl. Or how much his super-regeneration had been used due to the damage he sustained.
However...
"I did it!" He formed a hand and clenched his fist.
[+99,069 AP!]
'I knew it, this really gave me a lot of AP...!' Zaydas' eyes sparkled slightly.
Zaydas tossed a white sheet toward Rimuru. "Rimuru-san, try transforming into your human form, but before that, take this."
"Got it!" Rimuru responded excitedly, catching the sheet.
Soon, his body began to change. From a mere blue Slime, he started taking on a human form.
In an instant, he appeared as a teenager with light blue hair, parted in the middle, and golden eyes. His eyelashes were long and also blue, as were his thin eyebrows, which matched the tone of his hair.
Holding the sheet around his body, Rimuru looked at Zaydas. "I feel strange... I think, I feel as if I've returned to being human, but something... something is different..."
"Maybe it's because you're androgynous?" Zaydas said.
"You... you saw?" Rimuru asked, his voice trembling.
"Unfortunately, yes," Zaydas said gently. "Sorry, my friend."
"...I see." Looking up at the sky, Rimuru sighed melancholically. "Even after taking on a human form, deep down, I'm still just a genderless slime..."
"..." Zaydas considered making a joke to lighten the mood but figured it would only make things worse. So, he kept his mouth shut.
Looking at him from every angle, Rimuru said, "I could've sworn you were going to make a comment or joke..."
"I wouldn't do that." Zaydas averted his gaze.
"Damn it... At least say that without looking away!!" Rimuru exclaimed, sighing. "Alright, even so, I am truly grateful to you, Zaydas-kun."
Zaydas backed away, flying backward. "You're trying to get something from me, aren't you?"
Rimuru replied, "No? It's just that, knowing how well you cook, I thought: 'My great friend Zaydas-kun would surely make something delicious to celebrate the fact that I've gained a human form, right?'"
"Oh, if that's all, okay." Zaydas agreed.
"Yay!" Rimuru got excited again. "By the way, do you have any clothes with you?"
Rimuru wasn't the type to dwell on things for too long. Even something unpleasant, like the fact that he had no gender, would never make him want to give up on everything.
"I should have something, but Rimuru-san, aren't you able to create clothes using magicules?" Zaydas asked.
"I can?" Rimuru asked in response.
"I can, so you should be able to as well. It's not difficult," Zaydas replied and began teaching him how to transform magicules into fabric. Since Rimuru had the sheet wrapped around his body, it was even easier to use it as a base for transforming into clothing and changing its color.
Soon, Rimuru was wearing dark blue pants and a light blue sleeveless shirt matching his hair.
"Easy, right?" Zaydas said.
"Yes, it is." Rimuru nodded.
Perhaps for the two of them, it really was easy, but it wasn't as simple as they made it seem. While Zaydas was born a genius, Rimuru had a supercomputer filled with information that helped him analyze the entire process, making everything much easier for him.
"This is..."
Rimuru finally took notice of his surroundings and saw everything destroyed. It looked like a scene from an apocalypse movie.
"Don't worry, Rimuru-san." Zaydas explained about the barrier.
"Sigh, you saved me," Rimuru said. "You have some really cool abilities."
"I'm fine," Zaydas replied with a simple smile.
