Chapter 623: Chapter 623: It's Decided
Inside two giant adjacent hangars at Long Beach Airport in Los Angeles, where several large Boeing airliners usually parked, a variety of small to mid-sized jets ranging from 10 to 50 meters in length took their place. Including those outside on the tarmac, there were nearly a hundred aircraft, making for an impressive display.
Despite the multitude of planes, the number of attendees was sparse. Private jets are high-end items, no matter the country, and aren't marketed toward the general public.
Although the exhibition featured thrilling activities like flight experiences, aerial shows, and fashion shows with models, Murphy and Gal Gadot had no interest in these. They headed straight to the aircraft exhibition area after arriving.
Upon entering the exhibition area, they were greeted by Grace and a stylish blonde woman already waiting near the hangar entrance.
"Murphy, Gal..." Grace introduced them. "This is Ms. Clyberson, who represents several companies."
"Hello," Murphy nodded slightly at her.
Ms. Clyberson greeted them warmly, "It's an honor to assist both of you."
With plans for the evening, Gal Gadot got straight to the point. "Let's look at the planes."
Clyberson led the way, and Murphy, Gal Gadot, and Grace followed, quickly arriving at Boeing's exhibition area.
"Boeing is showcasing two models this time..." Clyberson pointed to one large and one smaller plane. "The larger one is the Boeing 757, which can be converted into a private jet. Currently, New York real estate mogul Donald Trump owns a Boeing 757."
She then pointed to the smaller plane, "This is Boeing's latest BBJ series, based on the Boeing 737."
The Boeing 757 series was too large for Murphy and Gal Gadot's needs. They were looking for a comfortable private airborne vehicle, not an airborne palace.
Gal Gadot glanced at Murphy, who whispered, "You decide."
Since many years ago, Gal Gadot had handled their personal affairs.
During their discussion the previous day, they had focused on Boeing's BBJ series, Airbus's ACJ, and the latest large business jets from Gulfstream.
"Let's look at the BBJ series," Gal Gadot decided.
Clyberson immediately gestured invitingly. "This way, please."
Murphy followed Gal Gadot, ready to foot the bill, while his fiancée handled the details.
Grace walked alongside him.
Grace had previously recommended the Boeing BBJ series to Murphy, mentioning its suitability for commuting between three cities in one day, accommodating an entire company executive team, conducting shareholder meetings mid-flight, and having a comfortable bed and spacious shower facilities—all for over $60 million, plus ongoing expenses.
Clyberson communicated with the staff, leading Murphy's group onto the plane, which was a sample unit decorated in a lavish, predominantly gold interior reminiscent of an Arabian sheikh's plane.
Gal Gadot frowned at the gold-colored decor.
"This is a sample designed for Arab sheikhs," Clyberson quickly explained. "The interior can be fully customized to the client's specifications."
Murphy knew that interior design costs often added several million dollars to the price of a business jet.
"The Boeing BBJ is undoubtedly the most luxurious and comfortable mode of transport," Clyberson continued, giving them a tour of the plane.
After about half an hour, Murphy and Gal Gadot left the aircraft.
"How do you like it, honey?" Murphy asked softly.
"Not this one," Gal Gadot replied, clearly unimpressed.
Murphy nodded. "Let's check another."
"Ms. Clyberson," Gal Gadot called out to the agent, "we'd like to see the Gulfstream aircraft."
"Sure," Clyberson, maintaining her enthusiasm, led the way. "Which model are you interested in?"
"The G650," Gal Gadot replied confidently.
Compared to Boeing, Gulfstream's exhibit area had more aircraft, primarily featuring the G550 and G650 models.
Arriving at the Gulfstream exhibit, Gal Gadot circled the G650, appearing satisfied with its exterior.
Observing her closely, Clyberson began speaking, "The G650 represents Gulfstream's revolutionary vision and has almost become synonymous with private jets. It sets new standards in the business jet field, offering the most spacious, luxurious cabin and extraordinary cruising speed."
Gal Gadot remained unresponsive, stating, "Let's take a look inside."
Clyberson noted Murphy's silence and understood that his fiancée held the decisive voice.
"Please come this way," Clyberson led them up the front steps, continuing to highlight the plane's features. "The G650 cabin maintains the lowest pressure altitude of any business jet—only 4,850 feet—even at its maximum cruising altitude of 51,000 feet, effectively reducing long-haul fatigue."
Inside the G650, Murphy followed Gal Gadot through a thorough inspection.
Unlike the opulent Boeing BBJ sample, the G650's interior was a typical business design.
"To enhance work efficiency, Gulfstream expanded the passenger activity area, increasing seat recline and legroom," Clyberson said, now positioned between Murphy and Gal Gadot.
"The cabin width allows for more spacious seating, larger aisles, and a dedicated conference area," she continued, leading them to the conference area. "This section seats three, accommodating six passengers for meetings or dining. The added space allows for optional larger compartments, such as converting into a double bed."
Additionally, Clyberson demonstrated the G650's full kitchen and bar, along with various entertainment facilities, including satellite phones, wireless internet, and a 26-inch LCD screen.
After spending more than half an hour inside, Murphy and Gal Gadot finally left the plane.
"How is it, honey?" Murphy asked quietly.
"Pretty good," Gal Gadot seemed satisfied. "We need a business jet, not a home."
For their purposes, the G650 was more suitable than the Boeing BBJ.
Although smaller than the Boeing BBJ, the G650 could carry ten passengers and four crew members, sufficient for Murphy and Gal Gadot. Moreover, its range exceeded 7,000 nautical miles, allowing for direct flights from Dubai to New York or London to Buenos Aires.
Finally, Clyberson discussed the plane's performance. "Gulfstream uses high-thrust Rolls-Royce BR725 engines, enabling near-Mach 1 speeds on short trips. The G650 is the fastest long-range business jet, nearing supersonic speeds, unmatched by any traditional business jet."
Understanding that technical details might not interest clients, she summarized, "With a top speed and a maximum range of 12,964 kilometers, the G650 once flew from Burbank, California, to Gulfstream's headquarters in Savannah, Georgia—over 3,545 kilometers—in just 3 hours and 26 minutes, demonstrating exceptional speed and fuel efficiency."
"And the price?" Gal Gadot inquired, mindful of their budget. "Is there an exhibition discount?"
While they were wealthy, she wasn't one to spend recklessly.
"Given your and Mr. Stanton's fame," Clyberson replied tactfully, "your endorsement would be a tremendous advertisement for Gulfstream. I can guarantee an additional 10% discount on the original price."
Gal Gadot glanced at Murphy, who nodded slightly. She said, "We'll take it."
Clyberson beamed, grateful for such decisive clients.
Murphy then addressed Grace, "Grace, Gal and I have plans tonight. Please handle the contract and other formalities."
He and Gal Gadot had dinner plans with Charlize Theron that evening.
