Eclipse of the Magi

Chapter 267: Chapter 267: Turn 6

Anne and Teach wasted no time with their next rolls, looking towards the current spells they wield and at the board for any synergies in specific. Harvard would look up towards the newly formed angel, at the very least registering its appearances and most likely method of attacking his opponents. He'd look around to see if there is a spell that would at least cut off such water from entering in the area, being quick to notice a spell off of his far left. He'd crawl somewhat and signaled Anne, pointing at the direction she needed. Such a spell was in the form of a pop-up book. She would be somewhat confused, yet would trust his word, seeing that she would need to roll a perfect twenty to actually reach that area. Calico would notice this shift, however, and would prepare his own roll come his turn, most likely needing to seal off that specific card from being casted.

Not enough. Anne and Teach would approach whatever spells they can, one of which depicted a stone wall, one that Harvard at first wouldn't remember attaining, before recalling the Mask itself, giving him the realization that such opportunities during this game were only made because of such a present being provided, utilizing the deck itself against him. Teach would allow Anne to take that wall as he'd go for a different one, though because he was already maxed out, he couldn't be able to take the next spell, reaching a space depicting an ocean, wanting to block it away just in case one would spend their movement accidentally on such an undesirable space. Solomon and Stolas would be up next, yet as the Biblical Sorcerer would prepare his dice roll, Stolas would hesitate a bit, focusing towards the Angel again, and back at Teach. "Stolas, you ok man?" Solomon asked, yet Stolas would look back towards him and nodded.

"I'm gonna hit this guy." He would reply, gesturing a small nod towards Gabriel. Solomon stared at him in disbelief, with the Pirates and the other children being shocked at such a risk.

"ARE YOU CRAZY!? DIDN'T YOU JUST GOT WASHED BY HIM!?"

"Yeah...but if I can't beat that guy than who the hell else would? We need to summon a Monster as strong as him, or if not, than EVERYONE would have to sacrifice their own and their monster's attack on it in order to balance things out. We gotta pick a devil here: Either one of us does the most and weakens it enough for us to steamroll it come one of our turns, or all of us do it, and it leaves Jackawok a chance to hit us with another." His words struck like iron towards Solomon's heart, disturbed that he's willing to sacrifice himself if such would be the case.

"Yeah, hell no. I'm not letting you do that. At least not by yourself." He'd state, which would nearly prompt Stolas to be angered and yell at him, but stopped himself when he sees his friend take the three spells and the beast by his side, giving them towards his friend for his choice. "Take whichever. If you're gonna hit it yourself, I wanna make sure you deal as much damage as you can. Don't mess this up, man..." He'd state, his conviction being just as sound. Harvard would try to offer one of his own as well, allowing Zazel to pass the explosive mines card towards him. Stolas, a bit stunned, would steel himself once more, taking the card, as well as Solomon's Kimaris, converting it back into a sigil, before rolling his die.

He'd make quick work in reaching towards Teach, which he would help by providing the Sigil of Stolas, empowering his magic once more. Anne watched on in the distance as the Avian would choose one of his spells, getting within a stance for a clean hit to the target, taking a gamble with the small star, assuming it was an offensive attack. As he'd prepare it, looking up towards Gabriel and its unchanged expression through the mask, he'd get ready to throw it, taking aim at his chest. As it was preparing, however, he would hear a voice. A soft voice. A voice that would be singing a lullaby towards him, comforting him. A voice that Stolas recognized, his eyes widened in shock at who sung it.

His mother's voice.

"Twinkle....Twinkle....Little Star."

"How I wonder...what you are."

Hearing such a small tune would cause the spell to be activated, a small star made within his feathered talons, pinching it, letting the gifts change the small star and be given its power. It would be making it a sphere from the mines, seconds to detonation, and imbuing it with both sigils, the demons circling around the celestial body and be absorbed within its light. He'd take a deep breath, hearing the lyrics more and more as he charges the attack, a beautiful light being made within Stolas' hand.

"Up A~bove the World so high...."

"Like a Diamond...In the Sky~."

"Twinkle.....Twinkle.....Little Star. How I wonder.....What.....you....Are."

KA-BOOOOM!!!!!

The spell was fired, the chant was complete. As the star flew towards the angel, Gabriel instinctively raised his arms to try and block the attack, out of desperation to try and survive. As the explosion was made to the heavenly figure, the damage nearly taking out a solid chunk, pieces of his armor breaking down because of it as a result, it would lower its guard too early, being hit with the spell a second time, blessed with one more boon given towards Stolas' space he landed on: A Spell that copies the previous spell casted, creating a secondary star with the same boons in the process, landing a direct blow towards its chest, a solid hole being made through it, even having that attack go beyond the board and pierce through the waters, splitting the sea in half, exposing the aquatic life to the celestial body, before a massive explosion would destroy the ocean further. Stolas can't help but smile as the Angel would roar in pain, watching such a cavity carve so much, the sliver of health being what's left to take it down completely. "Wow...what a weird way to remember her.....Especially after so much..." He mumbled to himself, yet Teach, despite not knowing such a parental figure would understand what he meant by such words, patting him on the shoulder.

"Aye. She'd be proud of ye, a'ight." He'd respond.

Solomon, Zazel, and Harvard merely rolled their dice, with their aim of jumping Calico soon, with Harvard especially needing a high number to move Fibonacci up.

Solomon and Zazel would close in, going for the sides, each of them taking an offensive spell in lightning and fire respectively, aiming and blasting down at Calico without having a chance to waste the opportunity. Harvard merely moved up Fibonacci and used its Spiral magic once more, having it take aim to its head and twisting it, killing Gabriel once and for all. He'd spend his remaining singular space to take one more spell, a bit shocked to find that it was the same attack Stolas casted: Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.

Calico would still stand, despite the damages being caused, his health being lower and lower. Despite such pain, however, he can't help but smile, seeing them work together to overcome the most impossible obstacles, seeing them be proud of one another. Such kindness, such generosity, even, would remind him of something. He'd close his eye sockets and took a breath, letting the sun's rays hit against his burnt body, stretching his arms wide open even.

When everything was just as innocent. When everything was just as Kind.
