Chapter 34: Chapter 35 - The Knight’s Conviction



The squad of knights arrived in formation, their armor reflecting the burning glow of the facility. Their leader, a man with a scarred face and a firm gaze, stepped forward.

"You dare interfere with divine work?" he said, sword drawn.

Kael studied him. This knight was stronger than the average soldier—his stance disciplined, his aura unwavering.

Selene had already vanished into the shadows, targeting the weaker knights.

The squad leader charged.

Their blades met, steel clashing in the night. The knight's strength was formidable, but Kael had fought stronger.

"You don't even understand what you've done," the knight said, pushing against Kael's blade.

"You experimented on people," Kael replied coldly. "That's all I need to know."

The knight scoffed. "Sacrifices must be made. This research will elevate humanity beyond its limits."
