Elden Ring:After the end

Chapter 44: Chapter 45: Frenzied Flame.

The night was abruptly interrupted, that omnipresent darkness that once covered the earth was banished and even the celestial stars were overshadowed.

All of the above was caused by the invocation of the Frenzied Flame, rather it would be an apparition or illusion of the being known as the God of the Frenzied Flame.

It may be called an illusion or apparition, but no one can deny the enormous power contained in such an Incantation. Just giving it a glance makes people's minds go wild, the heat expelled makes the skin itch, while the divinity awakens the instinct of human worship.

"Thops Barrier*

Slamming his staff into the ground swiftly, Aldrich points the tip of it at the monstrous display of power, causing a bluish barrier to cover the "Giant Eye".

"Oh lord traitor, this is all useless... Just accept the embrace of our great god!"

Reacting to Shabriri's excitement-filled words, the barrier raised by Aldrich begins to fracture under the new pressure. This is surprising, as Thops' Barrier should be an epitome level spell in the academy, such as Karolos' Comet or Olivinus' Stellar Rain.

"To be left open in front of me, ha, perhaps you don't take me seriously"

Crossing what was left of the bridge in an instant, Nepheli surrounds both axes with winds and lightning, before initiating a melee with Shabriri.

Surprisingly Shabriri did not shy away from the combat initiated by Nepheli, but instead unsheathes the Nagikaba obtained from Yura and parries both axes with the blade.

"I recognize you, an idiot who presented herself as a heroine and only perpetuated the pain of the lower classes at the hands of the nobles. It was because of you that"

"Ahhggg!"

The lightning became like snakes, and the winds like raging hurricanes. They crawled, leapt sideways, struck the ground, destroyed and burned the surroundings with unbridled rage.

In the midst of the natural disaster created by Nepheli's wrath, dozens of small blue stars cover the surroundings and begin to bombard Shabriri. That magic comes from Aldrich, who has noticed that Sellen has protected the camp in time and is now ready to fight.

...Aldrich pov...

It has proven to be a good idea to compare knowledge with Sellen, as thanks to her my flexibility and understanding of the most basic spells has increased.

Another thing to add is that because of that, Sellen has been able to protect the camp, because in return I have taught her some spells, such as Thops Barrier which she has now used.

"Stand back, Nepheli. "

Noticing Nepheli move to the side quickly, she charged the spell to its maximum and released it forward in a devastating bluish bolt of lightning.

The trees were obliterated, the earth is seen forcibly broken, while the surroundings are illuminated in a deep blue hue.

*Booooom!*

The tremor spreads everywhere due to the shock of the spell hitting the ground, while magical particles fill the air in quantity and intensity, weakening Shabriri's enchantment.

"You could have given me more time, you almost killed me right there, Aldrich"

"I trusted your abilities, besides take this"

Grabbing Nepheli's hand that a few seconds ago was pointing a finger at me, I opened his palm forcefully and then left the clarifying horny Amulet talisman there.

"A talisman... What does this thing do, Aldrich?"

Uninterested in my actions, Nepheli lifts the talisman made up of two crossed blue horns and holds it up to his eyes.

"It increases concentration. Basically makes you more resistant to insanity and sleep"

"Oh, hence the sudden mental flexibility I could feel. So then let's fight up close!"

Putting together the pieces of what I plan to do with just a hint, Nepheli's swarthy face seems to glow and he grips both axes tighter.

"Yes, but"

"Relax, I've already fought these madmen for the Midlands. At the slightest hint of madness, I'll retreat backwards and leave it to you"

Patting my shoulders as if to say "Take it for granted," Nepheli fixes his eyes on the dust cloud that begins to disperse.

Thanks to the lack of dust we can already see the battlefield accurately, but that's not the most important thing, but Shabriri's aura has gotten a drastic boost.

"Pain, despair, anger, revenge... All those emotions are food for our god. Now you will feel the pain!"

"Forward"

"Without hesitation"

Agreeing with Nepheli simply with a quick word and glance, we both ignore the yellow flashes flying out from Shabriri's eyes, before running towards him at full speed.

It certainly looks crazy from the outside to go forward, but the Unbearable Frenzy enchantment strikes in parabola. It first strikes towards the maximum of its range and then starts to go inward from it, leaving a window of attack.

"It's useless, the lord protects me... Ahhh!"

Shabriri's scream is not generated by our continuous attacks, as every wound we open on him closes in an instant, at the same time his aura increases more from the pain.

No, Shabriri's scream was clearly a technique, one that he used to release a surprising amount of madness into the surroundings, managing to gain distance from the two of us.

"So he's not completely invulnerable, but has a great resistance to hits... Winged Scythe"

"Tsk, me here thinking I'd finally found the perfect punch bag. Well, I'm going to enjoy it while I can"

Adjusting to the weight and odd shape of the Winged Scythe, I notice how Nepheli is saddened by the news that Shabriri is not invulnerable, but can only absorb a fair amount of hits.

Of course I don't point out that little slip in her behavior, but rather it was more important to know if the Winged Scythe still maintains their ability to negate the ability to heal... Which thankfully they do.

"Ahh!"

Suddenly roaring, Nepheli's blood seems to pump ten times faster, causing her skin to flush and the ground beneath her feet to crack to pieces.

Without even time to analyze the power boost Nepheli receives from that technique, she appears at Shabriri's side and drives her axe right into his rib, causing him to bend like rubber.

""

Marking in my mind the direction towards which Shabriri flies off, she hit a leap into the air, brought the scythe backwards and activated her war ash. The sensation of flying was amazing, now I understand why the crucible knights used that attack so much... But all must come to an end and my attack finally reaches him.

Incredibly the glowing blade of the winged scythe doesn't cut through flesh, instead it cuts through Shabriri's body and leaves white lines where it passes, making him glow in the dark.

""

Stepping backwards gracefully after I have fully adjusted to the scythe, I take another small leap into the air and hold the scythe in one hand, before releasing an incantation.

Dozens of glowing pillars composed by Faith descend in the surroundings, striking Shabriri, the illusion of the God of Frenzied Flame and the surroundings, although the latter was not harmed by the enchantment.

"Ahhhgg, it hurts, Hahaha, it hurts!"

Writhing on the ground as the pillars of light pierce her body, Shabriri keeps a mad grin on her face, at the same time as the empty sockets of her eyes begin to glow brighter.

"What's wrong with this madman, Aldrich?"

"Why are you asking me, just finish him off before he can do anything"

"Ohh, good point."
