Emperor of Mankind (Naruto X Marvel )

Chapter 117: Chapter 10

Naruto sat in the dimly lit study, the soft glow of a nearby lamp casting long shadows across the room. His gaze was fixed on the starless sky beyond the window, his mind wandering as he contemplated the events of the day.

Hinata sat across from him, setting down a steaming cup of hot chocolate on the table beside him. Her presence was a source of warmth in this unfamiliar world, a reminder of home and of all that remained constant despite the ever-changing chaos around them.

"Was there something special about Jean?" she asked, her voice soft yet inquisitive.

Naruto took a sip of the warm drink, letting the rich taste soothe his senses before responding.

"Yes," he mused. "I felt her power. It reminded me of Toneri when he first appeared." He exhaled slowly, recalling the intensity of that battle. "Maybe she has a great destiny awaiting her in the near future."

Hinata's expression shifted as she processed his words. Toneri had been powerful enough to destroy the Earth with the moon itself. If Naruto was comparing Jean to him, then that meant her potential was vast—terrifyingly so. The thought of someone wielding that kind of power in this world was both exhilarating and alarming.

"This world has been surprising since the first moment we arrived," Hinata said thoughtfully, her fingers curling around her own mug for warmth. "I wonder how much more we can expect. And whether it will be good for us or not."

Naruto gave her a reassuring smile. "Hmm, let's not worry about what we don't know. We'll handle things as they come." He turned his attention to his shoulder, where a small, golden-furred fox materialized, curling its tail around itself. "Partner, how's it going for you?"

The miniature Kurama yawned, his sharp canines flashing in the dim light. He was the perfect size to be called adorable, though anyone who actually said that to his face would get a sharp bite for their troubles.

"I liked it back home," Kurama grumbled, flicking his tail in irritation. "Everything is so weak here. Now we have to be careful about everything again." His crimson eyes narrowed. "You know I hated that part of our experience. I liked it when the world wasn't in danger of getting blown up with every breath."

Naruto chuckled at his old friend's complaints. Over the course of their journey, Kurama had grown—far beyond his original self. He was a being of cosmic might now, capable of reshaping galaxies, an existence beyond mortal comprehension. Yet, he still had the same gruff personality, the same instincts for battle.

Kurama lived for battle. And now, here he was, restrained in a world where he couldn't cut loose like before.

"Come on, brother," Naruto said, stretching his arms. "This experience has some fun points. And soon, we can change it like the rest."

Kurama huffed but didn't argue. He knew why they were taking things slow—why Naruto wasn't simply flexing his strength and reshaping the world in an instant. This wasn't just about conquering or winning. This was about building. And for that, patience was necessary.

"Aghh, I know why we're doing this," the fox muttered. "But that doesn't mean I have to like it."

Hinata smiled, watching the old partners bicker. She set another cup of hot chocolate in front of Kurama, her voice gentle yet firm.

"My dear husband is right, brother," she said. "We know you love to fight on the front lines, but even you need some rest."

Kurama gave her a sideways glance, his ears twitching. "I am still going to train the new recruits," he warned. "No easy way out. They all need to go through a trial by fire, just like the rest of our people."

Naruto snorted, shaking his head in mock disappointment. "You've developed some sick tendencies, you know that?" he said with feigned sadness. "I don't know where I went wrong with you."

"I'm pretty sure he learned that from you, dear," Hinata teased, her laughter light and musical. It was a fact that Naruto was sadistic in battle and training.

Naruto pulled Hinata close, wrapping his arms around her slender waist as he gazed into her gentle lavender eyes. There was warmth there, love so deep and profound that it made even the strongest of warriors feel weak in its presence. She was his anchor, the one who had stood beside him through every battle, through every hardship, and still looked at him like he was the greatest thing in the world.

He caressed her cheek, his touch feather-light, as if afraid she might vanish like an illusion. "You know, Hinata, I never truly understood what it meant to have peace in my heart until you walked into my life. I've seen worlds burn, fought battles that shook the heavens, but nothing compares to the feeling of holding you." His voice was soft, a stark contrast to the power he wielded on the battlefield.

Hinata's cheeks flushed at his words, her heart fluttering like it always did when he spoke to her with such tenderness. She smiled, tilting her head slightly as she traced her fingers along his jawline. "And I've never felt safer than when I'm with you, Naruto. No matter how strong I become, no matter what challenges come our way, I know you'll always be there… just like I'll always be here for you."

A flicker of emotion crossed Naruto's eyes, something deeper than mere affection—an unbreakable bond, a love forged through trials and time itself. He rested his forehead against hers, inhaling the familiar, comforting scent of lavender and warmth. "I have erred, my love," he murmured, his voice laced with devotion. "And for you, I shall lock it away—the beast, the warrior, the emperor. These hands that have torn through armies will exist only to protect and cherish you. For these tears do not suit your beautiful face, Hinata."

His words were a vow, a promise spoken not just in the moment but meant for eternity. Before she could respond, he captured her lips in a deep, lingering kiss. It wasn't rushed or desperate—it was slow, deliberate, filled with years of love and unwavering devotion. Hinata melted into his embrace, her fingers curling into his golden locks, savoring the warmth that radiated from him.

Kurama groaned dramatically from the side. "Ugh, here we go again. You two and your sickeningly sweet love confessions."

Naruto smirked against Hinata's lips before pulling away slightly, still keeping her close. "Jealous, partner?"

Kurama huffed. "Please, I have Yasaka. I get enough of this sappy nonsense back home."

Hinata chuckled, resting her head against Naruto's chest, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. "I think he's just upset because Yasaka makes him sleep outside when he gets too grumpy."

Kurama narrowed his eyes. "I will not dignify that with a response."

Naruto laughed, the rich sound filling the room. He kissed the top of Hinata's head before whispering, "Smile for me, my love. Nothing should ever take away the joy that belongs to you."

Hinata lifted her head and met his gaze, her lips curving into a soft, radiant smile that made Naruto's heart soar. "Always," she whispered back, sealing her promise with another kiss.

In that moment, there were no battles, no looming threats—only love, laughter, and the comfort of knowing they had each other, now and forever.

Kurama, meanwhile, rolled his eyes so hard he nearly gave himself a headache.

"Ugh," the golden fox grumbled, shifting on Naruto's shoulder. "Every time. Every single time. He forgets I exist whenever he gets into lover mode."

But despite his exasperation, Kurama felt something deeper beneath the teasing.

Happiness.

Their path ahead was uncertain, their enemies strong. But if nothing else, Kurama hoped that they would come out of this alive.

Even if they were crippled, even if they lost everything else—

As long as they lived, it would be worth it.

Naruto pulled away from Hinata slightly, a teasing smirk playing on his lips. "You know, Kurama, if you're feeling that lonely, maybe you should go visit Yasaka. I'm sure she'd be thrilled to hear you're whining about having nothing to do."

Kurama scoffed, crossing his tiny arms as he sipped his hot choco. "I am not whining. I'm stating facts. And besides, Yasaka told me to 'take it easy' and 'enjoy the time off.' Do you know how frustrating it is to have your own wife tell you to relax? I'm a warrior, not a house pet."

Hinata giggled, leaning against Naruto. "Well, I think Yasaka is a very wise woman. Maybe you should listen to her more often."

Naruto nodded sagely. "Yeah, Kurama. Maybe you should embrace the simple life. Start a garden, take up painting, maybe even—"

"Finish that sentence, and I will bite you," Kurama growled, his fluffy tails bristling.

Naruto just laughed. "Alright, alright. No painting. But hey, how are the little ones doing? Last time I saw them, they were trying to use their tails to trip each other."

Kurama sighed dramatically. "They're little menaces, that's what they are. Yasaka says they're 'spirited,' but I swear, they've got your level of mischief, Naruto. I caught one of them trying to prank their grandmother the other day. Yasaka's mother nearly set the whole shrine on fire."

Naruto burst into laughter. "Now that's a kid I'd be proud of!"

Hinata playfully smacked his arm. "Naruto! You should be telling him to discipline them, not encouraging more chaos."

"Why? Chaos is in our nature," Naruto said with a wink. "Besides, they're just having fun. Right, Kurama?"

Kurama sighed in defeat. "You're both lucky Yasaka isn't here. She'd make sure you were the ones babysitting them next."

Naruto and Hinata exchanged a glance before simultaneously responding, "Nope!"

The room filled with laughter as the three enjoyed the peaceful moment together, knowing that soon enough, the real battles would begin.

After spending some time with Naruto and Hinata, Kurama stretched lazily, letting out a contented sigh. "Well, lovebirds, I've had my fill of your sickening sweetness for today. Try not to melt into a puddle of affection while I'm gone." He smirked before vanishing like a wraith, his golden fur shimmering briefly before he disappeared into Naruto's soul space.

Within the vast expanse of Naruto's inner world, Kurama emerged in a place unlike any other—a universe that was constantly growing, expanding as Naruto's power and will shaped it. It was a breathtaking realm, filled with radiant golden skies, endless blue oceans, and floating islands covered in lush greenery. This place was an embodiment of Naruto himself—hope, love, and limitless potential given form. It was not just a prison for a tailed beast, nor merely a soul space; it was a world where life flourished, where the burdens of the past melted away into something new and beautiful.

Kurama padded across the soft grass, his enormous form moving gracefully despite his size. He closed his eyes for a moment, inhaling the fresh air. It smelled of home.

With a deep breath, he reached out across the fabric of existence, calling upon his true home—not this soul-bound paradise, but the universe where his beloved Yasaka and his children resided. His connection extended beyond Naruto's personal domain, reaching into another universe that belonged to one of Naruto's heralds—Issie, the one entrusted with an entire reality under Naruto's rule.

A shimmering portal opened, rippling like a pond disturbed by a gentle breeze. Through it, Kurama saw a grand palace nestled among towering mountains, bathed in the glow of a setting sun. The energy of the place was familiar, warm, and inviting.

The moment he stepped through, a golden blur tackled him with surprising force.

"Papa!" a small voice squealed with excitement.

Kurama barely had time to brace himself before he was knocked onto his back, laughing as a small fox kit with nine tiny tails nuzzled against his fur. The little one's golden eyes sparkled with joy as she wagged her tails eagerly.

"Alright, alright, you got me, little one," Kurama chuckled, gently nuzzling his daughter. "Did you get stronger while I was away?"

"Mm-hmm! Mama's been teaching me how to control my foxfire!" the kit said proudly, her tails flickering with small embers of divine flame.

Kurama's ears twitched as another presence approached. He turned his head to see Yasaka, standing gracefully with a knowing smile on her lips. Her long, golden tails swayed elegantly behind her as she folded her arms.

"You took your time," Yasaka said teasingly, her golden eyes shining with warmth. "Did you get too caught up playing guardian to your reckless human?"

Kurama snorted. "More like I had to sit through his romantic nonsense while he whispered sweet nothings to his wife."

Yasaka laughed, the melodic sound filling the air. "Oh, poor you. Must have been such a terrible experience."

"You have no idea," Kurama grumbled, though the amusement in his voice was undeniable.

Yasaka approached him, placing a gentle hand on his fur, her touch warm and familiar. "Well, you're home now. The little ones missed you… and so did I."

Kurama's tails curled protectively around her and their child, a deep rumble of contentment escaping him. "I missed you too, Yasaka."

For all the power he wielded, for all the worlds he had seen alongside Naruto, nothing compared to this—the simple warmth of family, the love of a mate who understood him, and the boundless energy of his children.

For now, at least, he could enjoy the peace.

Naruto, ever the master of his own existence, split his form with ease—one remaining with Hinata, basking in the warmth of their shared love, while the other moved to an adjacent room, his steps light yet purposeful. He had someone else to contact, someone who ruled in his stead while he ventured across the multiverse.

Artoria.

A woman as fierce as she was noble, a sovereign in her own right. While Naruto had numerous responsibilities, he trusted Artoria to maintain order back home. Though each of his wives, children, and heralds governed fixed territories within his vast empire, Artoria was the one who took command when he was away. It was her presence that held everything together, the guiding hand of a ruler who knew the weight of a crown all too well.

Naruto's projection materialized in the grand hall of Uzu, where Artoria sat upon her throne, overseeing matters of their Empire. She sensed his arrival before she even saw him, the familiar warmth of his presence filling the vast space like sunlight breaking through a cloudy sky.

A smile touched her lips as she stepped down from the throne, her regal bearing softening only for him. "You always appear when I least expect you," she mused, folding her arms.

"And yet, you always seem prepared," Naruto countered with a grin, reaching for her hand. As his fingers brushed against hers, she could feel the warmth, the undeniable proof that this was not just some illusion. It was him—his essence, his touch, his love.

Artoria sighed, leaning into his embrace as he pulled her close. "It has been busy here, you know," she murmured, closing her eyes for a moment. "Matters of the Empire never cease, and neither does my duty."

"I know," Naruto whispered against her golden hair. "And that's why I came. Even a great king needs a moment to rest." He cupped her cheek, his thumb tracing delicate patterns against her soft skin. "Tell me, my Empress, do you miss me?"

Artoria opened her eyes, their emerald depths locking onto his. "Is that even a question? You are always in my thoughts, whether you are here or away."

Naruto chuckled, brushing a kiss against her forehead. "I am a lucky man, aren't I? To have an empress who remains loyal and steadfast, even when I am away conquering the unknown."

Artoria smirked, placing a hand over his heart. "A king is only as great as the queen who stands beside him. And you, my dear emperor, know better than anyone that I do not falter."

Naruto laughed, the sound rich and full of warmth. "That's my Artoria. Always proud, always strong." He tightened his hold on her, lowering his voice to a husky whisper. "But even a king deserves to be pampered sometimes."

Artoria raised a brow. "Pampered?"

"Hmm." Naruto leaned closer, his lips just inches from hers. "I was thinking… maybe a moment just for us, away from all this duty and responsibility."

She exhaled softly, placing her arms around his neck. "That does sound… tempting."

"Then allow me," Naruto murmured, lifting her into his arms effortlessly.

Artoria laughed, a rare and beautiful sound, as she let herself sink into his warmth. "Fine, my emperor. You have my attention."

"That's all I need," Naruto said, sealing his promise with a kiss, one that spoke of longing, devotion, and the unbreakable bond between them.
