Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking

Chapter 558: Mystic World Tree Realm: April's Warm Welcome

--

"Halt!"

As soon as Cedric and his sons appeared, they were immediately met with hostility. It came from the guardians of this world, Mystic Faes, who were tasked with keeping this world safe from any potential harm.

Their killing intent was impressive. The boys were frightened silly, especially after seeing all types of weaponry aimed at them thrumming with power. They anxiously looked at their father, who's still smiling despite their lives being threatened.

"Who are you, and where did you come from!? State your purpose, or I will not hesitate to order my troops to vaporize you in an instant!"

This event caused a scene. It alarmed many people, and now many eyes were watching as the drama unfolded.

Cedric, still wearing the same relaxed and tranquil expression, smiled despite the blatant threat to his life and said:

"Relax gentlemen. I'm sorry that I and my children showed up unannounced and frightened all of you."

He then looked at an empty space and asked, "April, I know you're watching. Come out and run my biometrics; tell these gentlemen that there is no reason to be afraid of me."

His words were grating to the ears of the fae. Just who the hell was the creature, and how dare he for saying that they're afraid of him? Who does he think he is?

And what's this about him demanding this world's System AI 'April' to come out? Does he really think that he's a VIP that he could just demand things from the Mystic Faes? They have never seen someone so blatantly shameless.

Cedric's children, who are standing behind him with frightened faces, also thought that their father was a little too overbearing with actions. And Gilderoy was truly regretting confiding his problems to his father now more than ever.

But to their shock and surprise, they heard a mechanical whirring nearby.

[Beep!]

[Mystic Fae's System AI 'April' greets you, Good Sir.]

[Please stand still for the biometrics scan.]

"No fucking way! April actually showed up!? Who the hell is he?"

It was unknown who exclaimed this, but many people felt the same shock these words expressed.

'April,' the Mystic Fae's System AI, wasn't someone that answered to just some random people. First and foremost, she was built to serve as the core system AI of the Mystic Fae along with others.

Even within the Mystic Faes, only the Archfaes can call upon her to demand answers or to request something. The man and his children before them certainly didn't look like an Archfae; they don't even look like Fae at all! So why did April show up to grant him his request?

The captain of the guards, the same person who threatened to vaporize Cedric and his sons earlier, had a sour look on his face. Unlike others, he had a clue as to why April showed up for this person.

It's either he's actually a VIP or he's extremely strong. With the confidence this man exudes and the fact that their system AI showed up specifically upon his request, whatever the result of the scan were to be, he knew that what comes next will be a deciding factor for his career; his life may also be included in that.

Everybody watched as light scanned Cedric from head to toe, and after a brief period of silence, April's voice echoed in the area, and her tone was clearly more cheerful and more subservient than before.

[Biometrics Scan, complete!]! ]

[Greetings, Border Patrol Guardian 'Dawnbringer,' and welcome to the Mystic World Tree Realm. The System AI, 'April,' thanks you for your service, and it is our pleasure to serve you in any way we can.

Psssh!!

The weapons that were aimed at Cedric and his sons that have accumulated energy and were ready to be fired at any given moment were deactivated without any input from their users or their captain. Anybody who saw this knew that it was April who took control just now, overriding the soldiers' authority and permissions to use these weapons.

[Squad Captain 4401, Codename: Flame Horn. April advises you to order your men to stand down and let Guardian Dawnbringer and his children pass.

Compared to April's tone when talking to Dawnbringer, the one she used on them sounded more authoritative and definitely colder. It's as if it's even a privilege for these soldiers to hear her voice and that she wouldn't tolerate anyone who resists her orders dressed in 'suggestions.'

"Stand down, fools!" Flame Horn roared at his men, and they listened to him.

Fixing his expression, Flame Horn stepped forward, took off his hat, and bowed deep towards Cedric.

"Flame Horn apologizes for the disrespect, sir."

"At ease, Soldier. I don't blame you. It's my fault for showing up unannounced. You were merely doing your duties. I'd love to talk some more, but I'm in a hurry, so I won't cause any more disturbance. I'll go ahead with my sons. Godspeed, Soldiers."

Cedric walked by his side and patted Flame Horn's shoulders, which caused the latter to sweat coldly.

In that instance, Flame Horn felt his insignificance in front of Cedric. This person was unfathomable. The distance between the two of them was an endlessly maddening chasm that nearly caused him to lose his mind.

All of this happened quickly, and when he came to, Cedric and his sons were already gone. He pursed his lips and released a relieved sigh.

'The monster's gone. Seriously, are all Border Patrol Guardians like him? If so, then I hope I'm never thrown in there, ever.'

Flame Horn then faced his squad and said, "Back to business, fools. What happened just now was beyond our paycheck, so don't even think about it."

**

While Flame Horn did his best to forget what just happened since it had nothing to do with him. The same couldn't be said for Cedric's children.

All three of them were looking at their father with sparkling eyes, admiring his audacity, domineering attitude, and confidence to back it all up.

While they knew that the status of Border Patrol Guardians was high, they didn't expect it to be this high. Not only were they not punished for recklessly invading another world without any prior permission or official purpose, but they were even welcomed with open arms.

Does this apply to all Border Patrol Guardians, or was their father unique in there too?

"Gil, stop looking so stupid and tell me the name of my 'potential' daughter-in-law and where she's being kept."

Cedric's voice brought Gil and his brothers back to reality. Gil cleared his throat and said:

"Her name is Allura Corvius...but after confirming that she's the last bloodline of an old Fae Monarch, they insisted she take the royal name 'Moonflower' instead."

"As for where she's being kept, I don't know. I wasn't even allowed to come here, let alone know where they're keeping her." Gil sighed at his own incompetence.

"What does she look like?" Cedric asked.

"Beautiful. Like somebody used moonlight to carve her image. She's divine, ethereal, majestic, and—ow! Why did you hit me?" Gilderoy looked at Gerald resentfully.

"Father asked you to describe her so that he can see where she's being kept. He didn't ask you to recite your cheesy poetry about her." Gerald rolled his eyes at his brother's stupidity.

Gilderoy had the decency to look embarrassed, yet he cleared his throat and said, "Sharp ears are given since she's a Fae. She has long hair reaching her waist; the upper half was a dark shade of green and the lower half was blonde. It's one of her unique traits, she said. It's always been like that."

"She also has bright green eyes, freckles on her cheeks and nose. She's about six feet and three inches tall, lean, and she should have a sapphire anklet, which she never takes off because it's a memento from her late mother."

"Mn, I found her." Cedric nodded, and inwardly he smiled.

He's got to give it to his son; he knows how to pick. This young lady was fine. She looks miserable and defeated currently, which makes sense because of what happened to her, but her beauty was undeniable. That said, it may also be this same beauty that pushed her to this state.

"April, I'm sending my son to meet her. You wouldn't mind, right?"

[Not at all, sir.]

"Good." Cedric then grabbed Gilderoy by the collar and threw him towards a portal that was directly connected to the space inside Allura's prison.

Boom! Crash! Clang!

"Ugh!" Gilderoy was caught unprepared, and so he rolled, stumbled, and certainly embarrassed himself in front of his beloved. "God damn it, Dad! A heads-up could've been nice!"

"G-Gil!? Is that you? But how?"

Hearing the voice and seeing the face that haunted his days and nights, Gilderoy was stunned speechless for a bit. Remembering his compromising state, he did his best to look decent before saying:

"A-Allura, I..."

"No! Don't say anything!" She exclaimed. Her face warped in pain and struggle as she took a couple of steps back.

"I don't know how you managed to infiltrate this place, but it's best if you turn back now and never look back. You shouldn't have come here at all. There's nothing for you here!"

Gilderoy felt his heart breaking at her words.
