Yuan got up, it was another workday. The usual oppression was in the air. Taking the same route he had taken every other day, Yuan settled in. Only, today, a few large ape-like beasts were sitting in the place where his office workers once sat. A strange sense of recognition flourished within Yuan. He had seen them before, somewhere. 

Then, there was Yuan's boss. The irritating mechanical speaker and the intrusive thoughts.

"Yuan, your weekly records indicate that-"

Bam-

"Shut the fuck up you asshole!"

Yuan smashed his fist into the survival capsule of his both, spilling the vital liquids onto the artificial company carpet.

"Hey!" 

One of the big apes got up and ran towards Yuan, raising his fists. Yuan backed off but in the last moment, as his heart was beating harshly within his chest and his vision began blurring, the gorilla's first landed on his face. Only this time, he did not feel anything. Rather, he was flying in light. Slowly, the rigid feeling of his workplace outfit slowly faded into a warm yet hard surface.

"Yuan.."

…

"Yuan…"

Yuan's mind began to process things faster now. He was lying in a white marble room. He felt so exhausted, yet had to move his muscles. A funny looking aquatic creature looked down upon him. It was… what was his name again? It was… Shui. Shui Ren!

It suddenly hit Yuan that all he experienced was a simulation and all of the crew who he had developed bonds with were in fact, somewhere in the kingdom, perfectly fine! That was one of the most immersive experiences he had ever been in. He had completely forgotten about the fact that it wasn't real. Yuan was overcome with a wave of relief and began to laugh at himself and the situation he was in.

"How was it? First time, and by the way, you might have thrown this against the room."

Shui handed Yuan his amulet. 

Yuan sat up, shaking his head.

"Wow."

That was all he could say.
