Chapter 15 - Wu Jing in Big Trouble!

Chapter 15: Wu Jing in Big Trouble!

Yang Fan’s face darkened.

Unable to stop himself, he cursed in his mind: “Damn system, are you my system or Zhang Yi’s system?!”

“You’re worried that Zhang Yi might get frostbite, so you protect him,”the system replied.

“Damn system, I’m your master! Why aren’t you worried about me?!”

“Damn system, tell me the truth—do you want to change your master?” Yang Fan gritted his teeth and communicated with the system in his mind.

System: “……”

「The God-Tier Interview System has been activated and is now binding…」

「Replying to the host, Master-level warriors’ physiques can’t be harmed by the cold!”」

Yang Fan: “……”

“……”

“……”

What could Yang Fan say? Since it couldn’t harm him, of course, he’d go ahead and try the lottery!

System rewards—don’t turn them down!

Yang Fan cleared his throat and said, “I have an immature suggestion. I don’t know if it’s appropriate to bring it up!”

“Please, speak up!” Director Li said courteously.

“Since Mr. Zhang Yi is unable to continue filming, instead of just waiting around, why don’t we research the barefoot climb scene? Let’s figure out what’s missing.”

“The best way to research this is not to talk about it, but to film it step by step, experiment, and finally summarize the experience!”

“And, it seems that I have another identity as a background actor. I don’t mind stepping in for Mr. Zhang Yi and doing the barefoot climb to help everyone find the right feeling.”

“I believe that once the feeling is found, with Mr. Zhang Yi’s acting skills, when we re-shoot this scene, we’ll definitely nail it in one take!”

Yang Fan was confident in his Master-level acting skills. Otherwise, why would a scout have looked at him in the crowd and insisted on signing him?

Scouts might not have many skills, but they sure can spot talent.

Several of the main actors and directors exchanged glances and felt this approach was viable.

After all, they were just waiting around anyway. Rather than waiting, why not try Yang Fan’s suggestion?

Yang Fan had potential. His emotional expression was very powerful, and he seemed to be a good actor. Perhaps this Yang Fan would really surprise them.

Director Li looked at Yang Fan and said, “Forget the background actor title. A regular background actor can earn 100 yuan a day, which is already good.”

“I’ll pay you as a stand-in actor, 800 a day. That’s a pretty high price for a stand-in.” Director Li, who had been a bit dismissive of Yang Fan at first, now saw him in a better light. On top of the main actors’ faces, he generously decided to offer a substantial amount.

Yang Fan agreed happily: “Alright!”

800 yuan a day—he earned more than what he earns as a host!

No wonder so many people wanted to become actors. It paid well!

Hu Ge approached Yang Fan with a concerned look and said, “If it gets too cold and you can’t take it, you must speak up. Your health is the most important thing. Don’t end up like Zhang Yi, suffering just to maintain a face.”

If only Zhang Yi had taken some warm measures earlier, his feet wouldn’t be in such a bad state now.

“You’re right. We’re not like Wu Jing, who actually trained in the special forces for cold resistance,” Jing Boran added with concern.

“We’ve never trained for this. Yang Fan, if you can’t handle it, stop immediately. Zhang Yi was a soldier too, a professional, and even he couldn’t handle it. It’s not shameful if you can’t either. Don’t push yourself.”

Wu Jing couldn’t help but roll his eyes. “You guys are overthinking. Yang Fan’s physique is definitely better than any of you here, except for me. Don’t worry about him.”

“Instead of worrying about Yang Fan, you should focus on yourselves,” Wu Jing said. With outdoor temperatures below minus ten degrees Celsius, even wearing thick winter coats didn’t help much against the cold!

Yang Fan grinned, not responding to Wu Jing’s words.

Wu Jing brought over climbing shoes and other necessary climbing gear and said, “Yang Fan, I don’t know if you’ve ever climbed a snow mountain, but on Mount Everest, it’s a different story.”

“So, walking here is different from walking in normal snow. Even with climbing shoes that have ice spikes, your feet can still slip.”

“That’s why when walking, you need to keep your feet at an outward angle, not in a straight line.”

“The snow here isn’t as thick, so you’ll have to adjust and walk with an outward angle on your own.” Wu Jing explained seriously, giving Yang Fan some filming tips.

Yang Fan listened attentively. He had master-level acting skills, but this climbing experience wasn’t something his acting could teach him.

“Okay, practice a bit, I’ll go get your climbing bag,” Wu Jing said, walking away while practicing the outward foot angle as if the scene had already extended into real life.

Yang Fan focused on finding the right feeling, while Wu Jing, grinning mischievously, snuck behind Zhang Yi and quietly stuffed a pile of stones into the climbing bag meant for Yang Fan.

Zhang Yi was completely confused. What was Wu Jing doing? Why was he stuffing so many stones into Yang Fan’s bag?

Normally, when filming, bags were filled with newspaper or similar padding to make the bag look full, but the heavy feeling was all acting!

Now, Zhang Yi had no idea what to say.

Wu Jing smiled wickedly and silently made a shushing gesture towards Zhang Yi.

Zhang Yi flashed a bright smile. Wu Jing, Wu Jing, you better be careful after Yang Fan finds out. He’s definitely going to beat you up.

“If you’re ready, Yang Fan, here’s your climbing bag,” Wu Jing said, handing over the very heavy bag.

Yang Fan reached out, and the downward pull from the weight made his arm sink slightly. He couldn’t help but say, “Your props team is really committed. Is this how realistic the props are?”

Wu Jing grinned. “This is for realism.”

“Just a few days ago, Jing Boran had a scene where he needed to create a feeling of exhaustion. He dragged a tire for hours to completely tire himself out, and only then did he come back to film.”

Wu Jing mentioned this in an effort to make Yang Fan believe that the climbing bag was indeed this heavy.

Yang Fan couldn’t help but give Jing Boran a thumbs up. These days, not many actors would go this far for a scene.

The crew of the movie was truly made up of great actors!

“Everyone, get into position!” the director called as the crew prepared.

“Okay, get ready!” The main actors immediately adjusted their emotions and got into character.

Yang Fan took off his shoes and socks, put on the heavy climbing bag, and stepped barefoot onto the freezing snow.

With the director’s call to start, his master-level acting immediately took over!
